He could certainly have had broken himself free with the thrusters on his legs since the heat surely would've melted the ice, but this would also put some serious distance between the two. He gritted his teeth, the jagged tail hitting him square in his stomach, the sheer force behind it sending him flying. The ice shattered with the sudden jerk, the kinetic energy absorbed by the gel layer in his armour, though his energy shielding was done for, shattering with a flash of yellow as they broke beneath the impact. The Russian smirked beneath his helmet, time seeming to slow down as his ocular cybernetics kicked in, slowing his perception of time dramatically. He aimed down at Maru, pulling the trigger on his revolver one last time, shooting the third and final bullet at him. It was aimed at the right side of his head, by the eye. Then, everything went back to normal, Jason twisting his body as he came down for the crash. Again, his armour absorbed the impact, though he was sent skidding backwards, his knees bent, toes and left hand both on the ground, metal grinding over stone. He was a good few meters away from his opponent, mockingly waving at him, revolver disappearing into its holster. The mercenary reached behind his back, pulling out the grip of what was undoubtedly some sort of energy sword.[/i]
