Who cares how much time effort work is put into something if it's a failure. You don't hear the people who built the pinto cry about all the hate they got for building one of the worst cars ever. If your end product is crap and a failure to it's customers then the time and effort into making that crap doesn't save you you from the reality of the crap job you did.
