Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Dojo Woods.
I'm going to do something a bit different. A first person post.
I was back at this asylum once more, not for a social call however. Each day I had spent in New Haven I heard a voice nagging at the back of my head...."Go back." "Go back to them, Sam." I didn't know who it was referring to, I certainly have no friends. Anyone I knew probably wanted to kill me or not see me anymore here, thus I was left alone. Olivia surely hated my guts for just leaving her to fend for herself, I ought to ask her for that sheathe back if I can. I somewhat forgot about her, though each time I peered into my journal I was reminded of my past once more. My red greatcoat billowed in the winds of the forest, leaves rustling in the trees as made my stroll. I was around 6'2 last time I checked, had a healthy muscular physique that matched my height. I wore a blood-red greatcoat with a black trim along with a similarly black utility belt filled with all sorts of gadgets and whatnot. Clipped on my left was the high-frequency blade I had owned for about a decade and a half, the blade molded after a ninjatō. On my right was the carbon scimitar I had looted from that half-dragon freak, Caye. As vengeance for permanently crippling Olivia. I was apparently a Caucasian according to Old Earth terminology, belonging somewhere in either a place called Europe or America. Though my dialect had leaned towards British. I had platinum blond hair, a side effect of the chemicals that was pumped into the air of my homeland as an air purifier, which was tied into a ponytail with the sides buzz cut. My stark blue eyes had scanned the forest for my target location, seeking something. Speaking of Caye, I had realized I still had a flask of her blood kept in a cryogenic state in the off chance I had found I use for it. The issue was I had to enter that blasted dojo to get to it. What felt like hours had passed, my legs tired as I had finally reached what was once Dojoville. Instead of finding a town filled with disgruntled and quite frankly, sick of the Dojo's shit, I had found it to be occupied by a medieval force, the rest burnt to ash. I had only assumed the residents had either been forcefully invaded or just sold their land and finally left the place to this force. It was not of my concern, I had stayed out of Dojo politics long enough, and I was not in the mood to get back in. Not to mention the barrier it had gave me really suspicious vibes... I had no choice but to circle around, walking at an angle until I reached what used to be a backyard, it was at a weird slope. The grass was still burnt from the fires. From there on I maneuvered through the burnt mess of the house, kicking a weak and charred support beam which allowed me to walk through as part of the roof and wall collapsed. It was a monotonous trek as I climbed both the winding road and the steps that led to the iron gates of The Dojo. It was a place where fools played God, I did not intend to stay for long...
Open.
• As he walked the steps, he would again meet the one thing he hated most: another being with fur. However, after a few seconds, perhaps he might recognize that being as Alpha. Or maybe she was just another nameless thing waiting to be slaughtered by Sam's hand. The girl looked towards him, bearing scars of fighting....and with matching scars of a sniper detailed in ASF and Amoridian Rebel chatter who has hit in the leg by chopper's fire. Her rifle was a weapon that would turn heads, a weapon that was designed to end fools who dared play God. Maybe even end a god itself. She only wore a black tank top, and sweatpants. Her fur was insulation enough, her paws shoes enough. Over her left breast, Sam could just barely make out a brand. On her neck, a tattoo designating her as A-007. "Hello." She said, looking up at him without fear, apprehension, or the horror at one who had hunted many like her. The girl was just tired, searching for a way to heal the same wounds plaguing Sam himself, that same internal struggle which could end many lesser souls, and many greater souls. "Are you here to kill me?" She asked, as if inquiring about the weather

Natural instinct had caused me to grab the hilt of the high-frequency blade, my free hand rested on the simplistic scabbard. I had recognized Alpha rather easily, due to both Drake and the Boogeyman. I had stopped however, my right hand let go of the hilt. Now was not the time to kill. "No. I am not. Are you going to attempt to kill me? I will not hesitate to use self defense however if you so choose to assault me." Was all that I stated. I had overcame my bloodlust for all things furred, my hatred was redirected at something more serious. Anomalies who kill others blindly. I was not here to slaughter the entire dojo however, it was a foolish task. The last man who did such a thing died as a martyr, and I did not want to become that.

  • Something struck him, then. Alpha's voice sounded modulated, computerized somewhat. If you weren't looking for it, it was hard to tell....yet it was there. It sounded as if she had to bypass her own speech to talk. Sam would then immediately know what Alpha's next response was "No. I'm not. To do so would be foolish, considering your reputation." She said, not bothering to rise. The girl only sat there, gazing up at him with....her single eye. After a second it hit him. She was missing an eye, though the eyepatch seemed older than the scars from Amoridia. "Why are you here, then?" And the way she talked.....only Drake knew about her past, but the way she phrased things, even the pitch and tone of her voice was reminicent of old monarchy. "You do not seem as bloodthirsty as I was led to believe. If you wouldn't mind talking to an abomination....one monster to another.....I'm very curious as to why you are here."

"I am not a monster as portrayed by Omicron. I am but a man, nothing more. One who has lashed out against those who try and kill me, but still a man." I had told Alpha, my voice resolute. The eyepatch was indeed curious, but I could have gotten a good guess on what caused it. The tone she spoke in however brought a sense of nostalgia. My younger days when I had crushed those 4 legged oppressors with Mordecai. I had only heard whispers in the air of what the Boogeyman had done to her, not to mention how the group had managed to acquire Alpha. "My reasons to coming here are my own. I am sure you can respect that at the very least. I will tell you this however, I do not plan on staying for long. This is a simple visit." It was surreal, talking to Alpha like a normal person. "My reputation is warped by those who had told you them. I do not mindlessly slaughter those who get in my way."

  • "Forgive me, rumor travels quickly around places like these." She said, moving her arm in a sweeping motion. "And again, forgive me, I didn't introduce myself. I am Alpha, and though I know of your deeds, I do not know of your name." The girl explained. When she gestured, her hands had intermittent tremors. Whether it was PTSD or something else was unknown, though the former was the probable cause. A pity, for she seemed to favor snipers.

  • "I am Samuel. I suppose there is no point hiding identities, they are what makes people, people." I had told Alpha. While some others would captialize on the lack of knowledge, I had decided to tell the truth. There was no point in hiding it after all. I took note of the trembling in her hands, it seemed that a straw could break this camel's back any moment now. "Rumors are nothing but the truth twisted and warped to others' imaginations. I would not trust them completely, but they do provide a little bit of insight."

  • "True indeed Miss Alpha. Everyone holds their own opinion of others, some are obvious and some are not. While I like to keep my own opinions of others to myself, I will say this however. I hold a neutral standpoint towards you, not one of good nor bad intentions." I had told the goat, my arms at ease as I started to make my way past her. "I do believe I must go and acquire my belongings now, I do not plan to interact with those who would plan on attacking me out of the blue for a "good fight.""

"I never thought.." Indeed, I hadn't considered it. As Samuel would traverse up those steps, I could recognize him.. somewhat. If anything, it was the weaponry that would give him away to me. The high frequency blade.. I knew only one person that used one. I was surprised. I figured more idiots would be shoving them up their аsses, but Sam was the only to do so - amongst the array of wannabe fighters and idiots. Course, I was among the idiots. --------------------------------- Sam would find himself peering upon what could have been.. a beaten, bloodied, and certainly burnt Pandora. The tattered clothing that she had worn in her disguise into the rebel encampment was destroyed beyond recognition. It was no longer tan, but an ashy grey, blackened with soot and wear. Wide holes where bullets had slammed into her during the midst of combat remained, the flesh underneath slowly healing. The entirety of the left side of her body was burnt viciously, scorched flesh left where there was once light cloth and transformed, pale skin. Pandora seemed.. okay, even a little matured, though. She only waved a little at Samuel, that pale face looking up at the returning man, her fellow. Or, rather, whom she considered superior. Her eyes weren't a rosy shade of crimson, or cyan blue, but instead just a curious green, as green as the scales of a serpent sneaking upon it's weaker prey. She sat upon a grey boulder, one of the many upon the mountain that was home to the Dojo. Beside her, would lay.. books. Piles of stacked, newly bought books, each of seemingly different purposes. Nihilistic books, likely the result of Lucien's advisement and approval. A few books about the meaning of life, something that a friend may have found for Pandora, though the woman seemed to be keeping it for someone else. And.. combative exercises, and strategic fighting in melee, one of the novels in her hands. "...it's still standing, I suppose. I am, after the Palace.. you are, too. And the Dojo's standing. Guess you're pissеd about one or two of those."

I turned to face Pandora, hesitating to say something as my mouth was slightly agape. The attack on the Obsidian Palace really did a number on her. I wasn't surprised she retreated, we weren't soldiers. "I'm not mad...nor am I surprised about either of those things. The Dojo for some reason never really fell, it had gotten conquered by the Cobalt Phoenix...but other than that...no." I decided to move closer to Pandora to get a better view on what had just happened to her. She looked like a sick puppy as far as I could tell. "Pandora, you did what you could. Just be glad you're alive. I don't have to tell you that none of us are soldiers, just hunters who put down those that try to harm the populace for some sick desire. Come down here, I'll heal you for now. Then we can talk more." I had told her, the synthetic flesh on my left hand had turned into embers as I activated the Dragon's Fire on it for a quick second. Replacing the once normal hand was a gauntlet, the fingertips bore spikes as an imitation of a dragon's claw. The matte black hand was overcame with a golden yellow aura of some sort. I was thankful I had put down Nanos and had his blood analyzed. As I reached out my arm for Pandora I had zoned out, stopping midway. All I had ever done was murder and maim others, just for money or some other shitty desire. Not once had I actually tried helping someone, the closest I had gotten was with Olivia and that was a shitty thing to do. I felt the guilt of all my actions, and boy did it feel shitty. I wanted to change, and I decided now was the right time. Quickly I had snapped back to reality as I extended my arm out for Pan to grab it, hoping she would take it.

  • I could see a little sorrow in Sam's eyes, when he stopped. It was as if, in that moment, he had.. remembered, if anything. It would be wrong to dig into those memories and pry away at the knowledge within: Sam was good to me, something that was surprisingly rare, least for me. These days, I needed all the allies and friends that I could get. -------------------------------- Without a word leaving her lips, Pandora would take the healing hand, of which had been outstretched towards her. Perhaps she saw it as Sam's restart, perhaps she just found it to be kind. After all, she was pretty beaten up.

I had helped her down from the boulder, the healing hand had already started to close the wounds she had. Muscle and flesh started to reconnect once more. It was considerably faster than Pandora's normal regeneration, though this was the first time ever seeing it. Once it had finished I had taken away my hand from hers and took off my greatcoat, placing it on her shoulders. It had exposed the exosuit I was wearing underneath of course along with the synthetic flesh on the other hand. Normally I hated wearing the damn thing, but I had to here if I wanted to survive an ambush by some lunatic member. "Anything you want to talk to me about, Pandora?"

  • There was, indeed, something that I needed to talk about. It was something other than the palace. But it still had something to do with the hellhole that was Amoridia. "Alpha. The furry. Alexandria. Whatever she's called these days." --------------------------------- "...She's not dead, Sam. And hell, she's not even necessarily alive, either. ...I fuсked up. I fuсked up, and now she's trying to fight the rebels and us like an idiot. I didn't see her at the Palace, probably because she was already dead. And if she isn't.. she will be." Pandora would sigh, adjusting to the jacket around her now. Her chilly breath would whisk throughout the air, as she looked up at Sam. "...Maybe she'll grow sense, maybe she won't die. It's unlikely, but it's a chance. So.. anything happen with you, by any chance? Figured that I'd never see you around here again."

  • "I..." I was severely tempted to tell her that Alpha was alive, albeit messed up. The thoughts were weighed and I decided to inform her. "...met her Pan. This was after I got caught in a fireball at the Palace. It seared my left shoulder but other than that I'm alright, I bailed obviously. She is not well and I'm saying this as both an agent and a friend, for the love of god do not go after her. She's suffering from PTSD, but Alpha seems to know better not to pick a fight...with me anyhow. She is however lugging around a really fuсking huge rifle that I wouldn't want to get near with, so she might be fine on her own. As for me being here...I came to retrieve a few personal items of mine and see if I can get my thoughts straight."

  • "...I met her a few times. Underneath that Maria disguise. Hell, I came here for some stuff, partially stalking Alpha.. and partially getting some of Maria's old stuff. Clothing, apparel, that's all. It makes me feel pathetic, but.. I'll keep the disguise up. It was an ASF sniper that put what may have been a .50 cal through me, so I'm just blending in with the rebels.. I think." Pandora sighed, before only partially smiling in Sam's presence. "I should probably leave you alone, then. Unless "getting your thoughts together" includes "putting up with some privileged child's shit and trying to keep her alive" helps you out a little. ...Thank you for the healing, though."

We all need social interaction and honestly, I don't mind the complaining." I told her with a small grin. "How about we head somewhere more warm? • I had led her up the steps and past the massive brown studded gate and into Courtyard A2. It was tranquil as ever, it was abandoned thankfully. I didn't really care for the tree though. We had reached the hallways in record time without one dumbass asking for a fight, the doors haven't really been touched in ages it seemed. The walls were decorated with art and assortments of weapons, which I didn't see the point of. "Nobody really comes through here nor do they enter their rooms. Which I find extremely useful for my situation." I stopped my trek at an unmarked door and opened it. It was a rather militaristic room, a cot laid beside one of the walls. On the wall opposite of the cot was a small box upon a desk. I approached the box and opened it, receiving a blast of cold to my face as I grabbed a flask filled with blood. "This once belonged to a half-blood dragon female. Lucien requested I bring a sample to the labs later, I obliged of course." I explained to Pandora as I grabbed an empty vial from the box and poured some of the blood into the vial.

  • "A half-dragon.. Maybe this is selfish, but.. you wouldn't tell Mr. Farcon if you.. gave me a bit of the sample, would you? Utilizing dragon scales as a defensive measure, perhaps offense if I got creative, would help me out a lot. Heat resistant and all." Pandora would inquire, as her search for advancement would find a new stone to step and advance upon - and in came in the form of that dragon blood. She could always go out and kill a dragon on her own: a previous thought, though she feared to end up like that "Irina" figure.

  • "If it was scales you wanted, then I'll do you something better." I said as I placed down the flask and put the vial on a holder of sorts. Reaching into the box once more I produced the arm of that half-blood, and with one slice of my high-frequency blade I had cut her off a piece. "You'll get the scales and the enhanced strength from it. Not to mention said scales are highly resistance to lightning as well as heat." I tossed the piece at Pan as I placed the flask back in the box and shut it, the box making a good amount of clicks and a hiss. Once that was done I grabbed the vial. "I offered Lucien to bring both the arm and a sample of the blood to R&D. I need to keep more of it in case they well....need more."

  • Pandora would catch the piece that Sam would toss towards her, fingers clutching the piece while a sweetened smile would cross the agent's youthful face. "I should try this stuff on a Dojo member in a bit. Maybe.." She smiled to herself, nodding a little. "Thank you, though."

  • "I know I'm not exactly knowledgable about the whole biomass thing you got going on, but I'll try to give some advice. Practice with making sure you can even get the scales out first off instead of just running around willy nilly. Try to get creative with them as well, they're durable in addition to being fireproof. Probably try to use them as a projectile? Though there's the issue of growing the scales back, buuuutttt I'm sure you have a way of doing that." • "I can grow the scales back. It would be slow in the heat of combat, but I could. And about projectiles.. I've used a biomass crossbow beforehand. A construct of bone, really. Dragonscale heads at the end of the bolts would be heavy, but it's not like I'd be sniping or anything. Thanks for this, though. ...Why'd you help me? Figured I'd earn it."
