Underdog No Longer... Somewhere idfk, noon-ish. Many inside the Dojo knew how to fight very well. They came from all lives: savage killers, military men, gladiators and anything in-between. The others who lived around though, some did it. This left them prey to bandits and criminals of all sorts. The same kinds of people who forced one woman to suffer for a good deal of time. A building had been rented out and turned into a makeshift training center. Eris, who realized the aforementioned problem, had done so, renting the building out part time (so she could afford it) to teach people to fight or st least defend themselves. She finished with a class, the group of men and women of different races and kinds taking the arm and leg training gear off themselves and setting it at the back of the newly set up classroom. This class had been one for some of the more experienced people as well, as she gathered up the few dummy knives that had been placed around for them to train with. The room smelled of perspiration as she did, resetting everything as classes were done for the day. Being the weekend, Eris still wanted some time to enjoy herself as well. She herself donned her usual arm and leg coverings. On top of this, were a pair of brighter pink shorts that went down to the mid of her thigh, but the sides cut upwards a bit to reveal a bit little bit more of the leg. She had on over this a looser white T-shirt, making sure not to reveal anything. She had on the same training gear as the students who had removed their own, looking like this: https://imgur.com/a/it86f She had decided to keep hers on for now, kind of liking the feeling of it. She moved over to a table, in view of the door, facing it, as she began to write. Mainly filling out a bit of paper work, quite boring compared to other things. She didn't know what the rest of the day had in store.
open
• She stood up, helping Star to her feet "Choke holds, joint locks, all the fun stuff. You can take away someone's entire Arsenal with one good lock. Well, assuming they can't electrocute themselves it something." She joked

  • Star got up and giggled a little. "Thank you again for this. This is fun and very educational. Wanna keep going?"

  • "Sure, as long as you'd like to. Always happy to help people." She said, happily as she clenched her hands together behind her. She took the stance again. "Another good grappling technique can moved to from the armbar, and getting to its pretty easy. We call it a two handed block, like I did to you. The first hand pats the strike out of the way so you don't get hit." She said, moving through it slowly with her own hands "The catch is there if the pat fails, and allows you to catch the opponents arm and do things to them. It lets you block twice in once, as well as counter your opponent"

  • "Alright...okay...yeah..." Star nodded and paid close attention to the movement and what Eris was saying. "Grappling could be so useful for me."

  • "Grappling is great because it works no matter who your opponent is or how strong. You use their body against them. Here, throw another punch. I generally don't show this, but I'll show you a chokehold. Don't worry, I won't hurt you with it."

  • Star threw another punch. "Please don't choke me..."

  • Eris once again caught the punch, moving into the armbar once again. From here, she brought Star's arm behind her own body, as a cop in movies making an arrest would. From the she released the hand, putting an arm around Star's neck gently so the crook of the elbow was on the throat, bit no choke happened. She stepped back a bit, so Star's back was bent, meaning she couldn't kick or punch Eris "If you choke someone, put the crook of the elbow on their neck. It pinches off the blood flow to the brain, and can knock them out in seconds."

  • "Okay, cool. Very nice." Star stayed where she was, once again not wanting to get hurt.

  • she moved so Star was standing straight up again, before letting go so she could move without fear. "Once you start to learn, you'll see that from almost any move you can get into some form go lock. Those locks can go to other grapples or locks, or breaks if you want. All it takes is one well placed move."

  • "Sweeeet. Teach me, oh wise one!" She said in a slightly joking manner, but she obviously was excited to learn more. "This is almost as good as shooting a gun."

  • "I'll admit, I wouldn't know the feeling. Only time I ever have was running for my life, so you don't really get to take the time and enjoy it." She said laughing a bit.

  • "Heey! I could teach you in return! What do you say? You'd be learning from a literal pro! I'll show you the trophies for proof if I have to." She laughed.

  • "After you teach me some more ground grapples maybe? I really wanna learn more and don't worry about hurting me or making me uncomfortable. I'll be fine." She shrugged. "I'm used to it."

  • "Bringing someone to the ground is easy really. It all depends on whether you make them go forwards or backwards. Getting them to go forwards is just the opposite of what I did earlier."

The door to the training center opened, and a man–or a boy, he looked young–walked in. He couldn’t’ve been any older than 18-19. His build was an athletic one, 5’11” and muscular yet not so much that it would stand out. Ainsley was a male of Caucasian descent, with lightly tanned skin and dark, brown hair. The most unnatural part about him were his irises; they were an electric opal, and lacked distinct pupils. The second most unnatural part about him was the electric aura that emanated from him–in fact, blue electricity visibly and periodically flickered and crackled all around his body. He wore a simple, black t-shirt and pearl gray shorts, along with black socks and tennis shoes. On his back was a drawstring back in which certain items were stowed; his brass knuckles, revolver, and knife. As he approached Eris, he spoke up. “I heard that this was a training center? In combat?” His voice was on the deep, low side. It also had a bit of static to it, probably a side effect from all the electricity that surrounded him.

  • Eris smiled as he approached. She wasn't too old, st most 25, as she looked up at him from the papers. Her eyes weren't normal either, their structure snake like, the iris gold. Her hair was pitch black and cut short, and she was quite attractive. Her own skin was not fair, but it tan either. She spoke as he came closer "Yeah. I opened this place recently, mainly teaching people just how to protect themselves. Are you looking to join?" She asked inquisitively, but there was no pressure to it. Her voice wasn't deep, though it wasn't too high either. A nice medium, and it flowed well.

  • “Hell yeah I’m looking to join.” He grinned genuinely, already eager to begin. Either he was extraordinarily hotheaded or simply passionate about fighting. “How do I do so?”

  • "Well, first, do you have any past experience with fighting. Martial arts, boxing, anything. Or if you don't want to explain it, you don't have to." She said, knowing that from her own experience. She liked the group being small for now, it allowed her to actually interact with the students and such.

  • “Yeah, I’ve had experience. Self taught, basically just street fighting. I don’t know anything about form or whatever, though.” He shrugged.

  • "Hey, any experience is better than no experience. Means we have a starting point to go off of." She said smiling a bit. "Unfortunately, you just missed my last class for today, but I'd be happy to give you a bit of a private lesson if you'd like." She said.

  • “If you wouldn’t mind the trouble,” Ainsley replied gratefully, stepping back from the desk.

  • "No trouble at all." She said, as she stood up from the desk. She moved over to the center of the room. "Here, go put on a set of the training gear over there." She pointed to it as she spoke.

  • “Aye aye.” Ainsley walked over to the pile of training gear, quickly putting whatever set seemed his size on before turning towards Eris.
