Natalie "Nat" Elidan
"Breathe. Five seconds in, three seconds out. Repeat it. Feel it. Feel the heavy breaths, feel the weight behind them. Feel it pull them down on your lungs like rocks."
Natalie's hand guided the staff in her hand. She felt the weapon running along the length of her arm, across her back. She saw the head of it pointed at the tree downwind from her, the glowing purple crystal staring at the bark like a dog stared down a treat. She saw the tree restlessly rustle, the leaves falling gracefully onto the grassy ground below them. It was calming, a state much like a trance that she put herself into. The tree shook violently as it slipped out of the ground, snaking it's roots up and into the air above it. Then with a spin of her staff, Natalie brought it to the front side of her person and sent the tree flying somewhere behind her. It skidded to a halt on the ground maybe fifteen feet away, and she held the staff with either hand now. The power in her weapon felt living, it felt strong. She lifted it once more and sent it flying into the air now, like an eagle soaring high. It hit an eagle, funnily enough, which made Natalie laugh at the comparison. The tree came crashing down to earth a moment later although a burst of energy knocked it off the path, sending it flying outwards and away from Nat like a baseball when hit by a big, invisible bat. Rose huffed then in amusement, pulling out her phone to send s message.
-
Nat started to clean up the mess from the food, shoving it all into the fire.
-
It took Rose a bit, an excuse of a few soldiers testing artillery, saying she took care of them, and left the rest for other scavengers.
-
"So what do you do for fun at that campsite all day? And I mean other than beat people over the head?" Natalie would inquire, stepping out of the tent for a moment and stretching her legs and arms.
-
"There are fights, yeah, usually I sit around and just wait. Others do too, aside from the scouts we send out to keep an eye on the area. Usually its quiet, and nothing much goes on unless we celebrate something."
-
"So you just... Sit around all day, then? Don't you have books?"
-
"When I get them, never been one for reading."
-
"Well that sounds boring, just sitting and staring at nothing all day."
-
"Its usually just for a day or two, maybe longer. I'm used to it, its honestly not too bad."
-
"So do you, like, watch one day and scavenge the next?"
-
"Usually we scavenge raid or loot, then sort through it all, take a day or two to relax, then prep for the next one."
-
"How do you divide the loot?"
-
"Sell off any valuables or trade with other groups, then whoever wants what's left can take it.,
-
"Fair. Who do you usually target for looting?"
-
"Depends what we need at the time. Could be vacated places, sometimes civilian areas, rarely military targets. Destroyed areas or places recently effected by something you can guarantee will be looted as well."
-
"Civilian targets? Okay that's a little -blam!-ed up."
-
"Like I said, it depends. Boss usually wants as little casualties as possible, so avoids civilian areas."
-
"Well, then I guess it could be worse."
-
"Yeah, it could be a lot worse."
-
"You should take me on a raid sometime," Nat half-jokingly responded.
-
Rose let out a huff. "Maybe, sometime."

Natalie sat in silence for a bit: It was starting to get rather dark, despite it being so early in the night. It was only eight yet these winter months made the days so short, almost to the point of teasing her with summer sunlight. "It's getting pretty dark out here..."
-
"Yeah, I should probably get going." Rose's innocence showed for now, the girl knowing she needed to get going.
-
"Think you'll be okay to walk alone in the dark?"
-
"I've done worse in the dark" She smirked then, standing up
