"Breathe. Five seconds in, three seconds out. Repeat it. Feel it. Feel the heavy breaths, feel the weight behind them. Feel it pull them down on your lungs like rocks."
Natalie's hand guided the staff in her hand. She felt the weapon running along the length of her arm, across her back. She saw the head of it pointed at the tree downwind from her, the glowing purple crystal staring at the bark like a dog stared down a treat. She saw the tree restlessly rustle, the leaves falling gracefully onto the grassy ground below them. It was calming, a state much like a trance that she put herself into. The tree shook violently as it slipped out of the ground, snaking it's roots up and into the air above it. Then with a spin of her staff, Natalie brought it to the front side of her person and sent the tree flying somewhere behind her. It skidded to a halt on the ground maybe fifteen feet away, and she held the staff with either hand now. The power in her weapon felt living, it felt strong. She lifted it once more and sent it flying into the air now, like an eagle soaring high. It hit an eagle, funnily enough, which made Natalie laugh at the comparison. The tree came crashing down to earth a moment later although a burst of energy knocked it off the path, sending it flying outwards and away from Nat like a baseball when hit by a big, invisible bat. "The staff is a catalyst, not the source of magic. And I'm not one of those nature magicians, I deal with gravity."
Soory about not replying to this.
“Oh...would explain the tree, other than very focused meditation on Earth power.” Xiong explained. “I am not a magi, unlike some people around those you call ‘the Dojo’. I am simply monk who had come for my own purposes...speaking of which, do you only practice that of Earth power?” He asked.

With the last movement, she heard a woman's yell then exclamation of "Holy -blam!-ing shit!", cut off by the sound of it hitting the ground, the noise deafening whoever it was. Rose however, was actually terrified. A tree came flying at her, and by no means would that make her go and feel safe. Luckily however it fell short of the girl, and saved her from dying to mother nature. With that, she let out a deep sigh of relief, then fell to her knees. Any further and she would have been flattened by a flying tree.
-
The shouting made Nat only slightly concerned; the lack of shouting when it hit the ground though, that was what sparked her to feel anything more then satisfaction for herself. Taking a whim to investigate the scream Nat ran over to see what was making the noise.
-
Nat found a girl on her knees, breathing like a banshee and clutching where her heart would be. Having pixie cut, auburn hair and silver eyes, a chiseled face with a strong jaw, Rose was trying not to die from a heart attack now. The girl glanced up, pointing then. "You! Trees?! WHY?!"
-
"Because nature is a príck and I'm a cactus?" Natalie sarcastically responded, kneeling down beside Rose. This was the second time she had defaced nature in the week alone, and the first time it had nearly killed somebody. "Are you alright?"
-
"I nearly died and had a heart attack, then met an angel who has the force or something, so I wouldn't know." Trying to lighten the mood, Rose flirted, her first reaction when meeting new people. The girl standing then as she looked at the tree, as if to confirm it wouldn't move again.
-
"You met Padme? I don't think she was a Jedi." Nat met another nerd, and someone who likes to flirt with strangers at that? She chuckled at the display of an outgoing nature - Nat had to give credit where it was do, not many would talk nice after almost being crushed to death.
-
"Good, someone else saw those old ass movies." Letting out a chuckle, she still seemed shaken, but a bit more normal now.
-
"Who hasn't? They're classics." Nat was born in Cedyetica, a land that made 80's retro a forefront of its technologically superior culture, but even she had seen the movies a few times. "Oh, just so you have a name for the woman who almost threw a tree at you - I'm Natalie."
-
"Rose, nice to meet a fellow nerd and flirtatious enthusiast." She grinned then, sticking her hand out to Nat.
-
"Charmed." Nat grabbed her hand and gave it a small shake, though she stood and pulled Rose to her feet as well.
-
"So eh, what's with flinging trees around?" She brushed herself off then, looking around the area.
-
"Practice. I figured I should probably get better with the magic and I didn't want to get anyone killed. Intentionally, anyways," Nat remarked, thinking back to how she almost killed Rose mere seconds ago, or at least crippled her. "What're you out here for?"
-
"Trying to figure out what was causing those loud ass crashes from camp. Guess I found it." She shrugged, gesturing to the tree.
-
"Camp?" Natalie inquisitively questioned, a puzzled look on her face
-
"Long story, so, my guess is you're setup somewhere nearby?" She dodged the question, her face turning a bit red.
-
"I've got a campsite for myself a ways away, though my home is in Dojoville."
-
"I don't really have a home, kinda what my camp is." She rubbed the back of her neck, embarrassed to admit it.
-
"Damn. We can head back to mine if you want? I've got some food there."
-
"Sure, if you're willing to share." Gesturing to lead the way then, Rose was a bit excited now. Not only did she meet a mage, a cute one, but now she was offering food, and food was the key to the bandit's heart.
-
Nat made way to her campsite, which was maybe ten minutes east of their current location. Situated in a valley between a small hill and two rather large mountains, Nat's campsite was burrowed below a few blankets and four foot tall sticks to hold them up. She had a bonfire set up outside of the small but, which held everything from a sleeping roll and food to a stack of books. She grabbed a package of hamburger patties from inside a small red cooler and set them atop a rack over the fire, and after lighting it with a bit of her gravity magic by rubbing two sticks together, she got the burgers going. Rather than staying there, she went into the camp again and sat down on her sleeping roll.
-
Rose's first instinct was to look around to see what was worth taking, but she stopped herself, this woman was innocent and so far was too her liking. She could use more friends. Most though weren't fine with her lifestyle.
-
"So," Nat piped up a second later, laying in her bed. She stared at the patched blanket roof and laid her staff beside her, the armour of her body making her look slightly larger than she was. "Tell me about yourself?"

Edited by Frigid_Jackal_: 11/8/2017 2:26:15 AM"Well, isn't much to say. Just a girl with a sword who enjoys theft and more questionable things. A bandit, which is why I hesitated when you asked about my camp." She shrugged. It had to be said anyways. Hoping however that Nat wouldn't take too badly to it, she wanted her as a friend, magic may come in handy eventually.
