I've been with Bungie and Destiny for too long to give up hope, I've been there through the hard times and the good time (that's right, time, cause there was only one, Age of Triumph, best time of Destiny) .
Before anyone says that it's people like me, who's fault it is that D2 is like this, can you honestly say Destiny 1 didn't get better with time? Can you honestly say they didn't make improvements with their content? Can you honestly say you preferred D1 year 1 to D1 year 3, or hell even Year 2?
-
I can honestly say that dumping 90% of D1 to make the sequel was monumentally ignorant. I love the game and hope it gets better; but the fact is, it should have been great at launch. D1 was a beta. D2 is currently a bad joke.

I'm playing on PC, so i'm still into the game, it's only week 3. I played D1 on XB, i enjoyed it and i am liking D2 more, i may be somewhat biased because i'm primarily a PC Gamer... I have seen alot of hate and alot of complaints about D2 not having enough content, but i think this is coming from console players. PC has it a bit better than console did because we didn't get staggered content. PC did have to wait an extra 8 weeks for release but then we got all the content within the first 3 weeks and only have to wait 4 more weeks for the expansion so the PC community seems to be more engaged currently. I also think people are forgetting that D1 was out for several years and had several expansions, anyone who was around for D1 on day 1 will know there was not much to do in the game at that time either... RNG loot perks being the only source of grinding. I am hoping they're planning to merge D1 world into D2 and then continue to expand on D2 in the coming years. D3 is probably more likely, but hard resets are a bit crappy...

[insert comment about how Destiny only has to be better than the FPS I used to play the most. and it is.] [insert spoiler stating Destiny could be shipped with Patrols & Clash (6v6) and still be better than CoD.]
no spoiler.
everyone who gave up on it will be mad when the dlc drops just like d1

Edited by EdgarHighman: 11/8/2017 2:08:50 AMI'll be honest. I stuck with two games for years because of this. I'll be honest. They both destroyed their playerbase by ignoring the entirety of the community. I'll be honest. They both turned to reddit to listen to their users because official forums are almost always garbage and ignored entirely by the developers. I'll be honest. Neither game improved and both are aiming for money grabs on new players. I played about 10 hours of D1 at a friends house. I am playing D2. The games seem 100% identical except this one has a map (which doesn't open to your heroes location), and this one has a story. I have no method of ingame communication with other players. Mic or chat. I have all my settings to 'Enabled' or 'Open'. Lack of player to player communication is an instant failure. I thought they learned that with D1? I played 16 hours solo, I have a local friend who plays a few hours here and there. Destiny web app is pretty mucky, Discord seems the best of everything communicatively atm. Is D2 D2? Or just D1 with a few sparce new features?

No hope but I’m over it lol. Gonna play whatever they release and move on, as soon as it get’s boring. The grind of D1 is over, D2 is all about casual gameplay.
-
HAAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHA nice one
-
Given the total lack of communication and interaction with players I doubt it
-
Look up warframe and you wonder why you ever played destiny. It is everything destiny is and way way way more. I’m fairly certain to bungie stole everything from story to game idea from them as well
-
I have hope. But it'll probably at least 6 months before we start to see any serious improvement from a practical standpoint.
-
Maybe, but i started playing warframe and i am really getting into it. May no longer have time for destiny
-
We tolerated their crap with D1 because it was a brand new game with so much potential, but that doesn't mean they had an excuse to do this shit all over again. So, yes, you people are what's wrong with this game and the community.

Edited by Breezy: 11/7/2017 9:27:15 PMAgain, like many have said, you cannot compare vanilla d1 to vanilla d2. Bungie had four years to get it right, and yeah d1 y3 was better than what it was at the beginning. You cannot give the devs an excuse to make a game worse than where it left off. And you're right about you being the problem. Since Activision took control of Bungie, all they want is max profits before gameplay. I promised myself that I won't buy another game until I see one with a fair amount of content. I also promised myself that I will never purchase something Bungie or Destiny related.

Edited by Thane: 11/8/2017 2:03:05 AMYou’re asking for a miracle to happen. The real question is, WHY would anyone spend more money on a franchise that can’t get almost anything right for over THREE -blam!-ing years ?? Including reboots, scrapped lore, unholy amount of reskins, multiple repackaged assets and a painfully mediocre experience. Why would anyone FUND Bungie’s attempts at making a game all over again when they can buy quality from the get go elsewhere ?? Or even better, save your cash until something good comes out.

I am starting to feel like I am in a shill game with Destiny. Where the guy puts the pea under a cup and you have to guess which cup its under. Is it under DLC 1? 2? or DLC 3? At this point, I am not buying anything Bungie makes or Activision. I will rent their games from now on. As for the DLC? I wasn't going to get it but I was on ebay a few days ago and someone listed the season pass for 9.99 buy it now. So, I used my ebay bucks and pretty much got it for free. Destiny 1 was sold as a vision of a franchise and I bought into that. D2 is that vision destroyed for a kiddie game with no future. Even Bungie has decided to be extra quiet about the future of the game at this point. Do I have any hope this game will get better? Not at least for another year or 2, towards the Destiny 3 release. It seems to be how they market a play the player's. Bungie showed us one thing so far that no one can argue about. They have no loyalty to the fanbase. None at all. Your just a consumer who either gets hooked on their gimmick or not.

It’s basically the same company only by name. All of the not shit employees left
-
Hope? I had hope when I started D2. I'm too bored of doing activities for tokens to hope.
-
It will get better. I completely believe that. But it’s too late. The damage is done. I dealt with this bs in d1 and I let it go because it was new and they needed time to figure it out. Now we get to d2 and they’ve rolled us all the way back to vanilla. I’ll pass this time around. Might by the expansions after they fix the game and I only have to pay half original price.
-
It will get better to those who look past the damage done. It will get worse for those who stay there. It's not good to ignore past mistakes but it's not good to focus on them either. I can answer and say yes there is still hope but there is always a parallel view of reality that can't be ignored.
-
I have lots of hope for D2. But downvoted, because "upvote" posts are urinal puck casserole.
-
Not sure if it's an argument over if they can do it, but more like when it will happen. If you ask me, i don't see meaningful changes coming for probably a year. Will most people be willing to wait another year when d1 yr3 was already better than what we have now?
-
You get a downvote, purely for asking for an upvote.
-
You could die tomorrow, make use of your time and play other games don’t hold onto hope for a lost cause. On the other hand if you enjoy destiny 2 good for you keep playing.
-
Downvoted. Just voting like you asked. You should have made a poll. Maybe next time.
-
Always.
