What Would it be like if We Never Played Destiny?

What would the D2 experience be if we were all new to Destiny? Would it be awesome, or would we not like it at all? I think if we, or I were all new to this game we would think it was the greatest thing we've ever experienced in gaming. Just like we felt when we entered the VOG some years ago. It's easy to criticize everything, but if you were new to Destiny, D2 would be amazing.

As someone who never had an xbox/360/ONE, I never played Destiny. I saw it, liked the story and thought the game had potential, so I was excited for a MMOFPS on the PC. What I got was a Single player/Co-op FPS experience, where 20 hours in, I've yet to talk to anyone except in pvp (which was, you know, pvp talk). Now, I played through the story, and messing with some other missions, but I find no reason to play more. I'm much more social than the game provides. From where I stand: This game is poorly advertised as an MMO experience, which it seems has a wildly different definition on consoles. Its a solid game, but a complete lack of PVE matchmaking/social system in the game is a crippling deficit. I feel like the only social aspects I got did not create any social atmosphere, or create any kind of social satisfaction, besides maybe once or twice someone shot at me to point out a chest. As of now, I kind of regret my purchase. For the same price, I could have bought Hellblade and had a crafted single player experience, rather than a game that has identity issues. Overall, I agree with Argent Sentinel, except I didn't even know what I was missing with the lore, so I didn't feel like it glossed over things, I just took it at face value and couldn't tell one type from the other, and until I beat the game I confused Vex and Taken. I expected some growing pains, but wow, someone dropped the ball, and 1 week in I'm already getting bored. edit: minor spelling edits.
