Gabriel Hawthorne, as usual, could be found in the Lounge of Blades, the dojo's resident bar.
For once, it was a peaceful night, with its newly named owner making small talk with customers, going from table to table. Maneuvering the crowd of people that were dancing to electronic jazz music blaring from the speakers.
Unfortunately, Gabriel couldn't enjoy the dancing as he usually did. A twisted ankle from his latest job kept him seated in one of the dark booths in the corner of the room.
Leaning against his seat, he looked out to the dancers longingly, staring out at them.

The very familiar voice of Angelo was heard approaching him, not wearing his combat armour but rather more casual clothing. "And why aren't you out and about enjoying yourself as usual?" He said teasingly
-
Gabe narrowed his eyes at the man, grinning slightly. "You know damn well what happened on that last job. Nearly broke my leg! Lucky I walked away with it Twisted." Gabe said, his eyes softening slightly as he chuckled.
-
Angelo laughs a bit "What, You can magic up bullet wounds closed but you can heal a twisted leg?" He joked as he sat down near the man
-
"Well I could, but that ruins my chances of showing off my wicked power to the ladies!" Gabriel said, his laugh dying down as he looked at the Danvers once more.
-
"Fair. A good few people do enjoy a few tricks. Good ways to score drinks off of people."
-
"Exactly! So you do see my side of the spectrum, eh?" Gabe said, grinning. "Party, rogue side that is."
-
"Oh I've never been against taking drinks from people. You've always been after a different kind of treasure."
-
"If they've got the money might as well spend it on something, right?" He asked, shrugging his shoulders.
-
"Of course. Why waste our own when they have it to spare?"
-
"Exactly! I'm so glad you understand!" Gabriel said, leaning into the chair.
-
"Dude, I've been scamming drinks off people since before this team was together. It was like my Navy pastime."
-
"Somehow, I doubt that. For one, I can you speak drinks off of people when you don't even talk to people that often? I mean, I've tried getting you with girls in clubs... How many times now?"
-
"See, the key isn't flirting. You show them something interesting, keep the attention, and then ask for a drink for your services. Street magic my friend, street magic."
-
"Ah... A very wise way of doing it. Doesn't make it to obvious what your end goal is... Respect to you, good chap!"
-
"Thank you. Hey, everyone has their own ways of slipping pst defences, don't they?"
-
"Yeah, they do." Gabriel said, nodding his head. "Say, I hate to intrude on your personal life, but Lohi was here a bit earlier. She showed me some interesting pictures of you... With a guy..."
-
"Yeah, a couple of us got a bit drunk a couple nights ago. Hell, Lohi was there too." He lied, not knowing what the pictures had actually entailed about he and Blake
-
"Uh huh... and they magically read the year of 2012? Hey man, I could careless what you're into, but there's no reason to keep it a secret. I mean, it would have been nice to have known a few years ago, with all the girls I've tried hooking you up with... so many wasted threesomes. I digress! Point is, you're into whatever you're into. You're still the same Angelo regardless."
-
Angelo didn't rely right away, clearly a bit embarrassed. After a few moments he spoke "I know I'd doesn't make me a different person, he'll it's who I've always been. Let's just say I grew up with a lot of people who always told me it was wrong, so I kept it from them. You guys, I know you'd accept it, but you can't let it slip if you guys don't know."
-
"Know what? What were talking about again?" Gabe asked with a smug expression, winking at Angelo. The matter was forgotten, and closed.
-
"I couldn't remember if I tried." Angelo said, grinning a bit. He was glad to just bury the situation.
-
"Now, if you'll excuse me." Gabe rose to his feet, looking around the bar. "Time for some free drinks!"
-
"I couldn't agree more." Angelo said, laughing a bit. "Thought he should you really be walking on that leg of yours?"
-
"Only one way to get drinks. I gotta approach people, not have them approach me." He shrugged, standing just outside of the booth.
-
"And this is why I say always keep at least one charm on you." He says, shaking his head a bit as he stood
