The vellum in his hand was certainly enough to warrant JT's attention. The augmented figure hastily took the note and shut the gate, giving a look of curiosity to it as he reentered the Dojo. Sitting beneath the Tree of Sithis, he would give it a read.

  • To the denizens of the Dojo, In the past weeks alone, your great center of combat has experienced both an invasion, and a wildfire that stretched across your entire village. Yet, it would not be the protectors from the Dojo that would lead the fight against the Imperial invaders - it would be the rebel armada and one woman. And it would not be the defenders of the people that saved the people from fire and death - it would be invaders from a foreign land who would. If not for our own complications, then this letter would not be sent - rather, the wrath of siege equipment and cavalrymen. However, I find it to be a necessity to meet whomever leads your army itself, or rather defense. In person. You shall find me within our encampment. Signed, Freya Trayven If anything at all.. it was demanding a surrender from the Dojo.
Yes, cheap copy-and-paste. The letter's only been opened by Roy so far.
• JT had a look of curiosity on his face. Had they forgotten that the Dojo is not forced to protect the village? That they are not sworn defenders, rather people who live atop a hill? He chuckled at the note thoughtfully, and eventually it led him to stand and make way towards the Trayven camp.

  • JT would find himself traversing the streets of the once again burnt Dojoville. While some buildings would remain standing after the wildfire, some appeared to be burnt to the ground, yet some were being rebuilt. Slowly but steadily, it seemed as if a few of these "Trayven" workers had taken to helping the people. Clearly to expand their territories over the city. In the center, would lay a proud, standing garrison, trenches dug deep into the ground, at least from the sides of the road leading into the fortress. Beyond those would be a clear barrier, formulated of magic. They had built a fully fledged medieval fort, meanwhile, using the buildings of Dojoville and architecture to their advantage.

  • JT looked about at the people and buildings. He recognized too many faces and landmarks in the city, disheveled by warfare and strife from recent events in the village. It was a sickening sight, but he knew these people - the Trayvens, or whoever the -blam!- they were, JT didn't know them yet - were actually helping. He approached the gates of the garrison and opened them, walking in with a stride that emanated raw power and strength, pride lifting his right hand and displaying the note clearly for all that would look at him. He wasn't one to not make a powerful impression, certainly.

  • "Hold, ser." JT wouldn't find himself entering without no interference, as a few of the Trayven patrols would stop him at the gates. The patrol consisted of three men and two women - an army that utilized both genders, oddly enough - each of them armored in the same fashion - suiting the colder October weather, the soldiers took to wearing an outfit intended for colder weathers, the jackets they wore a light grey color, lined with chainmail underneath. Their helmets were strapped to their chins, their forearms and shins guarded by steel. "May I ask why you've approached this place, sir?" From above, the men in the watchtowers had split between watching JT, and scanning the horizon. Crossbows were yet to be trained upon him, though those with longbows studied the outskirts still.

  • "Do you not see the note clearly displayed in my hand? Lady Freya Trayven told me to come o'er here," JT would respond. His accent was still as western as ever, though the wording choice he used was more of a fancy one. He hoped to help them understand him with more esse than if he just used slang.

  • The closest of the five patrolmen would immediately snatch the letter out of JT's hands - though it wasn't purposefully committed in a rude manner, though it was insulting anyway - as she would reveal the array of letters that made up the parchment's message. She nodded, towards JT as she returned the message back. "You may find Lady Freya in the center of the camp, with the purple and golden flags beside it, and the smoking pits beside those as well." The patroller would point, then, to a tent. It would match the description that had been given to JT.

  • JT wouldn't pay the soldier any more attention than was required, opting to grunt in the group's general direction before heading to the tent. He wasn't familiar with these people, and he didn't want them to mistake his hospitality and kindness for weakness. No, he let that happen too often, and so he entered Lady Freya's tent with a calm, collected, and demanding exterior.

And from there, Freya Trayven would study the newest arrival. For a supposedly tested commander, there was something a little unique about Freya, yet she probably wasn't what JT had expected. When he arrived, she was reading a message - a scout report, if anything, standing upright as she read the words upon the small parchment. She was taller than your average woman, at five feet and ten inches tall. Her thinner, more athletic theme was adorned within a white and purple uniform, a gilded chestplate of steel covering her chest from head-on attacks. Curls of short red hair would fall from her head, light orange eyes looking up at JT, like little suns shining over him. "...Another arrival, from one messenger? The Dojo sends quite a lot of men my way."

  • "I ain't Dojo, I'm just here t'see what this summons was about." JT spoke truthfully - He didn't consider himself a Dojo affiliate, honestly, just a person who was in the Dojo when the summons came through. He answered out of curiosity and a sense of protective duty, so here he was.

  • "The summons were about.. a possible war, if anything at all. Not one against the Dojo, though I've only received.. slight support from the fighting academy." Freya would sigh a little, beginning to tidy up the table so that JT could have a place to sit, without books and maps obscuring his view constantly. That, and she needed to. "Sit, if you'd like to."

  • JT looked at the maps and other miscellaneous things very friendly, a small going popping into his eyes. If he had been facing Freya then it would be clear he was utilizing his eye-cam Aug for reconnaissance and taking pictures, though he was glad to be looking away. He took a seat on a now cleared off chair. "A war 'tween who?"

  • "Previously? ...Us, the Dojo, likely it's allies, the Imperium, and the Triad." Freya would not say "Triad", but instead mutter the word, sighing a little. "-Fortunately, there is a.. council meeting, you could call it, between the Dojo, the Imperium, and my forces. Though.. I don't think I caught your name, yet you have the invitation. Who are you, may I ask?"

  • "Marshal Jonathan Truman - JT, to most." JT hated using his official name as much as his birth name. It was either him being named after a US President or a serial number, but he needed to at least seem quasi official, so it was that or nothing.

  • "I hope that you don't mind JT, then. Freya Trayven, though you.. probably already knew that." Freya nodded towards JT in a surprisingly respectful manner, at least for someone who would call out the Dojo and demand the fighters within to yield their weapons to her own cause. "...Should I inform you, sir, of the.. situation at hand? It would be right to do so."

  • "Well I didn't come here to talk about sports," JT sarcastically replied, pulling up his Tac-Pad to get notes down on. He figured that his limbs were working for now, and the device might.

  • "If you'd like, I can go on and on about the gladiator matches," Freya would simply snap back, though not in an incredibly rude manner. "...Across the realities of Tatakai, including this one, my own, and others, a darkness has stretched across the continents, in the form of the Tribune. The original intention.. courtesy of my father, was to force the Dojo into submission and serve us. Though I.. changed the idea around."

  • "I sent a messenger to the Dojo, not an army. Besides, an army up the mountain would be stupid, but.. The point was, King Armillion wished to see the Dojo kneel, willingly or not. I wished to find some sort of peace, almost, even though I have my own reasons of disliking the fighting academy. Not the members themselves, though; a few are.. different."

  • "Don't try to sugarcoat it: The Dojo isn't what people think. The masses see it as a haven for fighters of an upper echelon, all working together to protect the city down below. Really it's a bunch of entitled cûnts and a few decent people holed up in what is somehow the galaxy's biggest hub, with a bunch of lazy prîcks who don't even have an army at the bottom of our hill expecting us to fix their every problem." • "I thought the Dojoville had.. ...The civilians that we've encountered were armed, some firing on a few of my men. I'd hope that the Dojo would have something of a militia, or an active force, but.. I suppose that you are a Marshall for a reason." At that, Freya would bow her head respectively. For a seemingly medieval individual.. she knew what a Marshall was. "I've already been told.. that the Dojo's finest are off to deal with the Imperials. I doubt that we'd have time to wait for them to return."

  • "The 'Finest' consist of a bunch of -blam!-ing cosplayers and a Neo-Roman, a Mandawhórian, and a couple of cûnts who don't have the balls to charge through a ship. We're doing the best we can on that front, but I'd hardly say we have the best on there, with the exception of like three people and a space weeb chick I know."

  • "...So this was a waste of time entirely. Great, we're.. fuсked." Freya would murmur to herself, having to look away from JT for a few moments. She looked back, eyes a little more intense than beforehand. "What about anyone else? Literally anyone else on this planet?"

  • "The Rogue Trader, Gilliam, who's taken the Tatakoi Plains? I suppose that he is whom you intend by a pirate.." Freya would tap against the table silently, before looking back up at JT. "There is an upcoming council between the Imperium, myself, and whoever would represent the Dojo. You may partake, if you wish."
Want to link the Nat/Bella interaction with this one in a bit? Bella needs to go to Freya anyway.
