Chapter One Venimus, Vidimus, Vicimus Dojoville Center, now taken by the Trayven forces 6:41 PM Trayven Head Camp ----------------------------------
Open, if you intend to be taken down by the stationed Trayvens and meet Freya.
"Thirty-six deaths. In one night." Freya's fist rested upon the wooden table, the solid surface coated by maps of the Dojo, and the surrounding area of Dojoville and the forest underneath the mountain. A lamp flickered in the corner of the room, a small bed next to it, alongside a pack of the commander's armory and such. Standing before the woman was a cloaked knight, the cloth binding around his suit hiding away the helmet upon his head and back. Freya Trayven herself wasn't biologically a Trayven, as she was one of the five that were not. The eldest brother would know that honor, she would not. But while he was off against the threat of darkness, and her eldest sister had taken to leading the front lines, Freya was wagering the war against the true enemy. The enemy of the people, in fact - the Dojo. She had created the assault plans, studied the previous invasions.. the Dojo had never faced an encamped enemy, however. They were used to spaceships and gun warfare - they would be surprised. From a perspective, Freya was ferocious, in her own manners. She was above the average female height, at about five feet and ten inches tall, albeit a complete midget to half of the Dojo's members still. Her bodily frame was bounded by a deep purple and white uniform, buttons tightening the vest around her front, links of chainmail running through the uniform as steel plate coated her shoulders as pauldrons and wrapped around her forearms. Curls of short, blood red hair fell from her head, while those two bright orange gems stared down at the scout knight that had approached her. She didn't initially believe the man, of course. The woman brushed past the armored knight, whom was only an inch taller in his armor, as she passed through the tent's entrance and into the lightly raining outside of Dojoville. Proud golden lion banners hung above the tents, a giant pole bearing the Trayven flag, instead of the Dojo's. Armored knights, calvary riders upon their steeds, armed soldiers, servants and squires rushed through the garrison, most simply nodding towards their commander as she approached the corpsmen stations, or rather the medical station. The fortress was already something, in the few days that it had been stationed. The Dojo cared not for the Trayven, if which helped their cause just as much. No, it appeared that whatever had caused the wildfire had merely stalled their progress. Now, thick wooden walls, stationed concrete, and watchtowers made up the defense, while if one were to peer at the base from afar, they would find a slight, clear grey barrier surrounding it. About twenty feet from each wall, the barrier's fence would end, while it reached a few stories into the air. There were certainly more than a hundred there, to say the very least. And the scout was right. Thirty-six dead bodies lined the ground, accompanied by two more that had been mauled and desecrated by Dojo civilians. The civilians that were taken by the Trayvens were bounded to wooden stakes, thrashing at their bonds. There were three, in total. Freya would recognize these dead men. She closed her eyes, nodding towards the corpsmen to take away the bodies for burning. She would only then turn towards the first of the Dojo civilians. She'd regularly leave executions to others that were.. more fit, to the role, but.. no one would hurt her men. So she took it upon herself to do it. ----------------------------------
Open to all.
Dojo Gates "I deliver a message from Lady Freya Trayven!" A cavalryman rode his white horse up to the Dojo's gates, circling around as he awaited an answer. In his hand, he held not a weapon, but instead a banner of Trayven - white and purple in color, with a golden, roaring lion head in the center. Upon his waist, was a tightly packed scroll of ancient parchment. He.. seemed to be waiting.

  • "There's the Imperium, in the plains. The jackasses who thought it was a great idea to drop artillery during the Imperial assault.. on innocents, Dojo warriors, and Imperials. Point is, they have numbers. But when everything goes dark, those numbers better be ready to use anything without tech and abilities.. else, it'll be nasty. ...We aren't just fighting men, ser. We're fighting a war that could bring us all to our knees if we fail. We fight the Tribune, and his army of seeping chaos. The Tribune himself seeps through Tatakai, hoping to seize opportunity at any moment. He's done the same to Rivelria, and Khaom.." Freya would stare, right towards Alric then. "It's why we need you. Not the numbers, but the expertise. A unified Tatakai stands a chance."

"Then I'm afraid you're too late, Lady Freya." Alric stated sadly, setting the wine glass down. "Many of our strongest, most experienced are already gone. Lord Alex Coldbourne, The Cobalt Phoenix, Ornstein the Dragonslayer and his wife, Nora The Pyromaniac." He shook his head, looking back up at Freya. "Those that do remain, are off battling the Imperials forces in Khalosh. Ornstein and Nora's son for example, Nathaniel. The members that are still in the dojo are the lowest of them, civilians that came here to battle gods. Warriors that are here to forget their sorrows. What remains of the dojo is a sorry lot, you will find neither numbers nor expertise anymore." Alric finished his speech with a sip of wine, well more then a sip. He gulped down the entire glass, setting it down once more.

  • "...We need them, Alric." Freya would murmur, as she did not stare at her food, nor the adorned table. She brought her gaze straight to Alric, her breathing a little more intense then it had been beforehand, her fist almost twitching a little upon the table. "That council meeting will decide our fate. Not just as three armies, but as three civilizations. Three, hopefully.. unified.. civilizations. Else, we are doomed."

  • "The dojo waeriors serve no one. I will do my best, and I will fight for you, but I cannot make promises for some of the others within those walls." He cut off another piece of steak, chewing on it for a few moments before swallowing.

  • "...Thank you." Freya would sit there for a moment, simply staring at the steak before her. She sighed, shaking her head. "And here, my idiotic father thought that we would have to fight.. gods damnit. I love that man, but he's.. obsessed with that damned concept of fighting and bloodshed. It's horrible."

  • "If I may speak freely, your father doesn't seem to understand how to sway people to his cause." Alric took a sip of wine, holding the glass in his hand and spinning the wine inside around. "If you had invaded the dojo as he wished, not a single one of the Warriors inside would take up arms for your cause. They do not enjoy being conquered." Alric stated, almost matter of factly.

  • "Agreed. Though if you said that in the Great Hall, your head would be off your shoulders before you could even close your mouth." Freya chuckled quietly to herself, before a messenger would enter, whispering something into her ear. Freya's eyes would widen midway, looking at Alric as the messenger left. "...The Imperium's agreed to a council. In the Dojo, but.. perhaps there is a chance."

  • "A council it is then!" Alric laughed jovially, finishing up what remained of his steak. "Hopefully this all goes well, yes?" He asked, taking yet another sip of wine.

  • "Hopefully. In my line of work, nothing really goes well.. but perhaps that will change." Freya smiled a little, leaning back in her wooden chair as she would study Alric for a few seconds, that smile still on her face. "Once this is over.. maybe we should stay a little. I should get to know the people here, you as well."

  • "Perhaps you should. After all, this is quite the place. The people here are ones you do not see everywhere, and the weapons are magnificent. Even the people know how to be... Special." He looked at her this time, his eyes kind.

  • The two pairs of eyes would meet, as Freya matched the stare on her own. She broke away, rising up and pulling off her gloves. "It is getting dark, Alric. May I suggest that you return to your Dojo? I doubt you want to stay amongst us, the Trayven forces.. tend to drink and party, at least some do."

  • "Then again, it might be wiser if I spent the night amongst your forces. If we are to fight together, we must dine together. Live together." Alric stated, looking away. His voice was more suggestive, giving Freya the option to turn him away.

  • Freya would study the Witcher for a few seconds of soft silence, her head tilting in a soft curiosity. That silence would continue, before a cute smile would cross her face. She would continue to undress her armoring, until she was left with her uniform. "Careful, Witcher." A singsong tone left her mouth. "I like you, but be careful. Perhaps the Dojo would enjoy the thought of bringing the Trayven commander to a certain peace. But would they enjoy you "living" alongside me, this early?"

  • "The Dojo warriors will see that we are not enemies." Alric stated, placing his hands on the table. "It would be wiser to do so, to establish our Alliance all the sooner. I will even ask for some of the other Knights to come to the camp if need be." He drummed his index, ring and pointer finger against the table. "Besides, I am not well liked at the dojo. People only follow me because I know what I'm doing, compared to some of the other sword fighters there are." Alric drummed his fingers along the table once more. "I am the closest to a Commander they have at this point, they fight under because they have do. They will have to follow me when we fight together. They must see we are truly allies. Capable of not only fighting together but also living Together."

  • "...Together, then." Freya would finally say, adjusting her uniform as she nodded towards Alric in agreement. She had trailed around the table, her fingers against the edge of the wood. "The gates shall remain open, and our weapons undrawn. Perhaps we shall commune, perhaps.. a certain unity can be found, between us. A peace, that we can nurture and even continue. More than the parchment of a decree, or whatever material an alliance may be made of." Freya would finally say, resting her hand upon the table as she stood next to the sitting Alric.

  • "I will inform the Warriors in the dojo." Alric, finally, rose to his feet and smiled at Freya. "It was a pleasure, my lady." He said kindly, doing a cordial bow before standing tall once more. "And yes, If it is possible. We should extend on what there is. Past the material of paper and promises."

  • Freya would watch the man leave, nodding a little. She crossed her arms together, sighing after Alric would leave. "Sir Alric.. you may just save us yet."
Timeskip to when the Dojo arrives?
• It had been nearly an hour since Alric's departure, the sun had set and stars twinkled in the night sky. Finally, torches lit the pathway towards the dojo as three or so dozen Knights in various armours approached the encampment gates. Alric was at the head of them all, and the various Knights spread out throughout the camp as they entered, mingling with the House Trayvern warriors.

  • The gateway had been kept open, while the Trayven army had begun the nightly celebrations on their own, inviting the men and women from the Dojo to join. Alcohol brewed from thick barrels in rivers, cheers and yells ringing out from the crowds of Trayvens and Dojo members. Guards still took over the night duty, though, in preparation for.. anything. Freya didn't find herself in the crowds, no. Instead, she had slipped in, gotten a shot glass and a filled bottle of wine to accompany it, as she leaned over the ramparts, silently watching the darkening skies. She would stare out to the Dojo, and Dojoville in entirety, drinking silently.

  • "You don't like celebrations?" Alric asked, walking up from behind Freya. "Neither do I, to be truthful with you." He stood next to her, watching as the people danced and drank.

  • "...They always celebrate. Before battle, after battle, they tend to. And things tend to head to hell during a party." Freya would sigh a little, drinking from her glass. "I think.. think, that we have an actual chance."

  • "As long as we stand together, shoulder to shoulder, we'll be able to do anything." Alric said with a warm laugh. "Worst case, we call upon other houses on Takatai. House Leo of the Burning Isles. House Forrester of the Winra Islands." Alric shrugged his shoulders in thought.

  • "Leo? Forrestor? My father- well, adoptive father, conquered both houses in less than a month.. I'm not saying that they were weak. But I am saying that in our prime, the Trayven's armada was all-powerful.. then the Tribune arrived, and even Armillion could not stop him." Freya would sigh, before looking over at Alric. "It's occurred to me.. I don't actually know that much about you. Here I am, complaining of warfare, and.. I barely know you, Witcher, other than your title, position, and name."
