I think the Rise of Iron team and the Destiny 2 teams weren't really in communication because of the time constraints from Bungie's contract with Activision. They're on a pretty tight schedule, so while they might not have meant to exclude features we really loved, they may not have had the time to do so. If they had time to work on the game as they needed and could openly communicate with us, I imagine they would.
So much naivety, so little time! So you're telling me that as a company, Bungie couldn't facilitate communication between TWO teams of people??! "Because of time restraints"?? What is this amateur hour?!??? Give me a break! You're giving them the benefit of a doubt that doesn't even exist! Extremely busy companies coordinate extremely complex ideas and projects with extreme accuracy and communication ALL THE TIME. The excuse of "too stressed - not enough time" works when you can't hit the bar after work because you're too busy. THIS IS A MASSIVE COMPANY THAT LITERALLY HAS A COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT. Foh with that naive bullshit. Why, after 3 years of GARBAGE PR and stretched truths and a clear disconnect on the direction of the franchise, why, why on this lovely lovely Earth WHY would you EVER think they would communicate if they could. They don't, they never do, and they probably aren't allowed because of Activision. If they told us all two years ago that this was the plan for D2, they'd have less than half of the pre-orders they raked in! Keeping us in silence but giving tiny useless tidbits of info is THEIR JAM. They've been doing that for three solid years now. Why would you ever think that's because of how busy they are?!?! Open your eyes Guardian! You're just a consumer with a pocket full of cash to them. The more you know, the less likely you are to spend it.
also, if you think these devs are working SO hard they can't communicate with each other, check out their Twitter accounts! They're ALL very active and vocal to each other when it concerns what Star Wars prequel was the best, or whose dog looks the most like them, or what brand of cereal they have for breakfast... Come on Guardian, don't give them credit if it's not due.
