So everyone remember Chris? That emo dude with nice shoes from House of Wolves and then Rise of Iron. Well, basically, in my opinion, he was one of the developers that started to make D1 a better game. House of Wolves was (again in my opinion) the start of the turning point for the fundamental changes D1 would go through, for the better. Sir Barrett blesses us once again. All hail the king.
New systems and rewards to give our most engaged players additional, optional pursuits.
Better incentives for players who complete challenging Prestige activities.
Better rewards and replay value for strikes, adventures, and Lost Sectors.
Private matches for the competitive community (we are targeting early 2018).
Crucible tuning like adjusted Supremacy scoring and better spawning rules.
Better incentives for completing Crucible matches (and penalties for quitting competitive games).
Continued improvements to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies, including uniqueness of rewards.
Changes to make the mod economy more interesting and impactful.
Ongoing improvements to Exotics, including adjustments to reduce instances of duplication.
New ways to spend surplus currency and materials (looking at you Legendary Shards).
An emote interface that allows players to equip Salty, Spicy Ramen, Six Shooter, and Flip Out all at the same time.

Actions speak louder than words. He might just be the saviour of dlc sales figures, and then roll out another slice of disappointment.

My main concern is that there will be very few people left playing the game by the time these changes occur. Who can honesty say that they'll still be here in 2018? Not me. There's a slew of other AAA games just pending release for the Xmas market. Personally I think they've shit the bed on this one. Sad times.

Im hoping that the mod system brings in mods that add a perk to guns. Like putting Dragon Fly or Explosive Rounds on my Call to Serve. It is already my favorite kinetic scout. This would make it so much juicyer. It would also bring back gun variety without reinstating random rolls. Which was a mess in my opinion.

Many of them you even asked for, like private matches and list sector improvements. SO WHY ARE YOU STILL CRITICIZING THEM!? You guys need to get over the fact that D2 isn’t what we wanted it to be and help support good changes, no matter how small, so that you will get more of that. Criticizing changes before they even happen will keep the game like it is (not a good state) or just lead to less positive changes. If you can’t accept that, go play another game. These changes may not fix a broken endgame and should probably have been here to begin with, but at least they’re here, and they’re improvements, so stop saying they suck. This is a different dev team taking action for the first time, so give them a chance.

8 RepliesDid he add more crucible modes? A ranked playlist? Heroic playlist? Strike specific loot? Random rolls? A faster super cooldown? Better class abilities for hunter? It's going to be a long while before any of this is going to be implemented. Don't go crying savior too soon chief.

5 RepliesNo point in having private matches in this current pvp setup. Slow ttk isn't fun at all in pvp. Camping corners isn't fun at all. Using only mida isn't fun at all. This weapon load out isn't fun at all. Private matches are going to go something like this. Equip mida, run to any corner on any map. Tell your friend to stop camping and come out already while you stay camping. Repeat. The new content that is coming looks like gear from destiny one last event they had. Lame. Times like these. I hope they are working on a emote where your guardian pulls a table out and starts beating their head on it, until red fire works start going off. Another I'd like to see is your guardian pulling out a chair, sitting down and your guardian starts throwing money at a 1990's computer monitor.

9 RepliesReset the cooldowns to D1 settings. I shouldn't have to wait over a minute for a grenade. The weapon loadout is terrible and ineffective. Bring back special weapons, and buff snipers in PvE. Bring back random rolls on guns and armor. Make raid gear useful in the raid. Bring back machine guns, and tracking on all launchers. Increase magazine size and splash damage on launchers. Bring back 6v6 PvP, and lower the time to kill, so it's not the team shooting crap we have now. Fix infusion, so it isn't class and weapon type locked. Vendors should sell gear, and exotics should decrypt above our light level. Mobility/Armor/Recovery settings should be in the skill tree where they belong. Bring back INT/DIS/STR. Fix the mod system, so they are interchangeable, or get rid of the system all together. Let us reroll armor. We shouldn't be forced to use a certain set to get good stats. Make exotic armor/guns actually worth using. Bring back heroic strikes/story, bounties, strike specific loot, and unlimited material/glimmer farming. Finally, bring back the variety, player choice, improvements and FUN that we had in D1. Give me a reason to play. D2 is more boring than watching paint dry.

I agree,all of these changes should have been in the game,but I love what this game can be when it's good. I'm no fanboy I have been on these forums,bashing what they did to this game,but I'm willing to give the live team a chance. They were the ones that turned D1 into a pretty good game. For those of us who love what this game can be, let's hope they follow through with these changes,but there is still more to be done. Fortunately or unfortunately,this is my game through good times and horrible times. Let's get out of this hole and start climbing out of it. I feel the pain that many on these forums have vented about. #MAKE DESTINY GREAT AGAIN!!

This is the kind of response we needed, acknowledgement of a number of flaws and saying they are going to deal with them. Although I can only really hope, shouldn't get too hyped up or anything, especially since it will be a long wait. Oh, and a little disappointed that there's no mention of possibly adding more to the subclass system since it's so dumbed down and the reasoning behind it is just kinda insulting but who knows, maybe that's apart of the "there's more we're working on".

I stand by my original assertion that this game's issues can not be resolved in a couple of patches. The core problems are ingrained so deeply into the game design, that nothing short of a complete reboot will address the fundamental problems. It's not about being negative, it's realism. It will take them many months to add private matches based on their timeline, how long do you think it will take them to address the bigger issues.

It's honestly pretty vague and feels like a quick and dirty way to appease softies like you. (Sorry) The Bungie MO right now is [b]damage control[/b].. and it's all a bit too little too late for me. But that's just me. I dunno Guardian, you should be excited since it'll help you enjoy the game. But when I hear "targeting early 2018 for private matches" I think WTF YOU HAD THREE YEARS. This bullshit is inexcusable, I don't care which individual dev it is, Bungie as a whole has just turned into a shill for Activision and turning profits. I'm calling it right now - private matches will NOT be "free". They'll sell it with the next DLC and make us all fork it over for something we've had in the prequel for almost 2 years. Mark my words.

It's a shame the live team and the main building team couldn't get together to incorporate most of these ideas from the beginning. I'm sure the live team was like "yo, they loved all the strike loot and what we did to rank up packages...etc" then the main team comes back ahhh yeaaa well we're almost finished sooo yea, good luck.
