Please add more chat options

Bungie, As many people that are playing this game, it sure feels awful lonely unless you're playing with friends you know in real life. It's impossible to communicate with other players in the world except through emotes. There is no general text chat and there's no clan text chat. How are you supposed to team up with strangers in the game if you can't communicate to determine interest and/or common goals? Example: The Farm. This destination is always bustling with people and activity, yet no one can communicate... The lack of chat options besides fireteam and the Battle.net chat system makes the game feel empty and lonely

  • Completely agree. I really hope this will be added soon. The only argument against it is 'toxicity'. Well, give us the option to turn general chat on/off then, don't force players to play the game like this. Communication is the most important aspect of an MMO. Any other PC game has these features and they work. Please add them to the game.

  • Yes, please Bungie, for the love of god, give us zone chat (and perhaps even proximity chat), all chat in PVP, and clan chat. These things are standard for multiplayer pc games! It boggles my mind none of these are in the game.

  • As someone who loves clan/guild/faction based games, Having the ability to talk to your clan in a chat window is crucial. I have a small guild now with 8 members. When we want to run a strike, or pvp, or anything we are forced to message each other individually and relay messages back and forth until we get a plan together. This is unbearable and makes me want to stop playing. Having a CLAN CHAT where i can post " hey guys, about to do Nightfall, anyone want in?" is so important and has been massively overlooked. But instead im forced to use an app which is riddled with issues, to do one of 2 things. 1) Post in the guild chat which no one is paying attention to because they are looking at their computer screens/TVs. which yields poor results, if any results. 2) search for a recruitment ad for the event we want to do. and deal with sifting through tons of fireteam postings that havent been removed from the ap, that are not sorted by the time that they have been posted, to then have to give out our battlenet tag to someone who then has to add us, which then we have to accept. At which point we finally get an invite. (which the process has to be repeated every time you want to find a group for anything) Bungie, you dont give us global chat, that we can live with. We dont have a player-to-player trade system so its really not that important anyway. But Clan chat is so important. When i stop playing, it will because of lack of easy communication with my clan. The hardest thing to do as a creator (of anything) is to put this much effort into a system you truly believe in (the app) and accept it isnt effective in what it was intended to do. i hope bungie really reconsiders this. Any response from bungie would be greatly appreciated.

    • You are exactly right. It was unbelievably stupid for Blizzard to allow this multi player game to launch on their platform with No General Chat, No Clan Chat, No Group Finder.....NOTHING.
