Long Ago
Rain pattered against the moss covered stone paths of an old ruined castle. The rocks that were so precisely placed into the earth long ago were now cracked. The masterfully etched and crafted blocks of marble that once were the stable foundations to a kingdom now lay crumbled and displayed with no grace or dignity. Remains of skillfully forged tools that were made with blood, sweat, tears, and long hours of work now abandoned on the streets, rust covered with no owners to claim them.
When did the world get so cruel?
The sound of metal boots marching along the road were like deafening drums to my ears. My heart raced as they grew near.
This is the end…
My house of rubble and rotted wood couldn’t hide me from their prying eyes. The’d find me. I’ll be dead soon.
...the end of my life...
Their footsteps were nearing, my body shook in fear. I sat there paralyzed by fear, mind undecided on whether to run or accept my fate.
...and the beginning of my story.
There was only one way out and I knew it. I couldn’t possibly run away, there was an army waiting outside to catch me. I couldn’t fight, my body was growing weak from lack of treatment.
Someday, someone will find me…
With every ounce of my strength and will, I concentrated on the little power I had left in me. I dipped down into every reserve I had. I had to make this count or it would all be for nothing.
...and hopefully I’ll be of some use…
Luckily I had just the item on me for the job. I pulled it out and the gold shimmered from the little light that fell through the cracks.
...and may they find peace…
“In here!” They screamed, having found me. It was too late however, I had already begun the ritual.
...for I never will.
Forever bound to this blade,
My soul and spirit,
Unbreakable this bond,
Until peace falls once more,
Upon the rolling hills,
Under the setting sun,
Unknown love now found.
“Try and kill me now...f*ckers.”

Present Day
The sun was shining bright as you trained, honing your skills. For some reason you noticed yourself doing extra well, you had more endurance, strength, accuracy. Everything was perfect...until you tripped like an idiot. You looked down to see what you tripped on and see something gold jutting out of the ground. It shines in the sunlight, as if begging for you to see what it is.
Open. See if thou art worthy.
"Ow, shit!" Garin got up and dusted himself off, and was about to kick the thing when he stopped. "Wait a minute." He reached over and tried to pull it out of the ground.
-
From the ground he pulled out a sparkling silver blade that was attached to a golden cross-guard and leather handle with a pommel that had a grey gem on the end. "Hello!" Garin heard a femal voice from the weapon.
-
Garin squinted at the sword. "I'm high, aren't I?" He twirled the sword and headed back to his house.
-
"....No, not that I know of. Hey, where are we going? People usually don't just grab and go."
-
"Usually? How old are you? And as for where we're going, we're going to my house." Garin tucked the sword into his coat so that the pommel poked up over his collar.
-
"I was pretty young before the whole sword thing...maybe 19? I've slowly mentally aged over the decades. Maybe early twenties."
-
"Were you hot?" Garin looked at the pommel and wiggled his eyebrows.
-
The sword sighed. "So I've been told."
-
"Hey, that's pretty good." He patted the pommel lightly with his hand as the two arrived at his home. "Welcome to my home, Sword."
-
"....Why do I have a bad feeling about going in there?" The sword seemed skeptical about entering.
-
He shrugs and heads inside to set the sword down on a chair. There were several paintings hung up on his walls, as well as several wine cabinets and wheels of fancy cheese.
-
"Well, nothing bad so far. I was expecting something horrible like you trying to destroy me."
-
"...Now how did you get into that sword, lady? After all, swords don't normally talk, do they?" Garin's voice said humor, but his face spoke with seriousness and something that could only be described as rage. "I highly suggest that you tell me."
-
"I did this to escape from getting killed....Why? You seem a lil demanding with the whole 'I highly suggest that you tell me' thing. I don't have to tell you anything. You're not my owner."
-
"I'm just -blam!-ing with you, Sword. Though I do want to know."
-
Tubbs got up and started saying every insult that came to mind. When he was done he looked at the golden object. "Ohh.... this is the junk I tripped over?" He tried to rip it out of the ground.
-
Out of the ground he pulled a beautiful sword with a golden hilt, leather handle, and silver blade. The pommel had a grey gem on the bottom. "This junk has feelings, thank you." An annoyed female voice came from the sword.
-
He looked around. "Ummm what? A sword can't have feelings dummy. Where are you anyway?"
-
Edited by Stitch: 10/21/2017 7:35:17 PM"...Once again, thanks for the insults. I'm the sword, dumb*ss. Don't make me kick your *ss with my nonexistent limbs!" The sword didn't seem too keen on Tubbs.
-
"Yeah right pal. Like I'd believe that for a second. If you really are the sword. Then prove it."
-
The sword was silent for a moment before yelling at Tubbs. "How the f*ck do I prove I'm the sword?! Not like I can move or anything!"
-
He throws the sword.
-
"F*CK YOOOUUUUU!" He can hear the voice get quieter as it gets further away from being flung.
-
"Huh.... I guess it wasn't lying..." He walks over to it. "So... did you feel that or do you not feel pain since you're a sword?"
-
"It didn't hurt...but it's still annoying to be thrown." The sword sighed. "As if I wasn't already dirty from being buried, but now you're throwing me into mud."
