[i]Lola pretty much sank to the ground at that the pain too great for her bear. With in pained gasps of words of a spell as she tried vain to heal herself just one more time. Lola looks at her sister that is passed out cold. Lola knows if she passes out now that irina and her offspring will probably kill them then hunt down the rest of her family. But as stubborn lola is she is still trying to move as injured as she is.[/i] [spoiler] the brutality !![/spoiler]

*Mortar, quietly thinking of what to say, sits down at the foot of the bed, trying to console them; Leyla especially. The two were twins, the closest link between two people, and with that link severed, he believes that this could only leave a large hole which could take years to mend. Knowing what to say, he takes a deep breath in.* I... I know how hard it can be to lose someone; I've lost too many friends and family members to death, and have seen close ones lose their friends and family, too. I know that it can be the worst feeling possible, but I want you to know that she loved you, she really did. She saved you, from your fight with the Vileblood. Most of the people I knew died fighting for what they believed was right, and their names were remembered with honor and bravery. I know that we'll remember hers with honor too.

She felt really guilty about it too. The emptiness she felt was real and it hurt more than the wounds irina had inflicted upon her she created one that would take a long time to heal.[/i]

What? No, not at all. This isn't your fault, trust me. When I was dead, Cyan, Cross and Wit went down into the pits of hell to find me, and in the end only Cyan and Cross came out of there. When I realized Wit sacrificed himself for me I was devastated, putting the blame on myself for something he did. This is no different. Don't beat yourself up.

And I don't expect it to. I just don't want you beating yourself up long term for it. I've known good people who've gone down that way... All the alcoholism, self abuse, contemplation of suicide... The mind can be a tricky labyrinth of thoughts and behaviors.

*Mortar smiles somewhat, excited that there will be a good chance that they will live here.* Alrighty then! Follow me. *He heads towards an elevator, watiting for everyone, including Serenity and her father* You two coming too?

The doors close and it slowly goes down to the first floor, opening in the lobby. He then walks over to the door, and, holding it open, waits for the rest to follow*
