uh oh
Cain, quick in his reaction, suddenly jolted up. His arm flung up towards the captains jaw like a crank as his palm was sent towards the bottom of his skull.

  • "Yes." The female voice sung into Cain's head, the pain shooting into his fist as the captain's head shot back. The soldiers began to circle around Cain, their swords wavering as they kept a defensive line.

  • Cain shook his head. He didn’t understand this voice, but he would defend his sister out of his own choices. Not some ghost. “Stay back now, please.” He told the rest of the soldiers as he neared his sister. “If you keep your distance, no one has to be harmed.” “Cain....” Lilly said. “The voice....it’s...too powerful....” “I won’t listen to some voice I’ve never heard before.”

"Act. Upon. Your. Own." The words were practically roaring into Lilly's poor ears, while Cain could only hear mangled songs, bits and pieces of what was once music. The soldiers had lost themselves, two of them approaching Cain with their weapons drawn. The twi that had escorted Lilly..

  • “Why is everyone acting so strange...” Cain said. “The music is not that bad.” “WHAT MUSIC?!” Lilly roared as she then covered her ears. Cain raised his hand up to the soldiers, a warning. “If you take two more steps, I will ensure you will find yourself on the ground.”

  • "But the Coldbournes.." "No, not him!" "Release the anger, and numb the pain.. Succumb to destiny, fulfill your fate.." These lyrics practically blared through the room, causing one man to fall to his knees. The female, screaming "Stop it!" would take a swing at Cain's middle half.

  • Cain suddenly leapt into her swing, grabbing her wrist before her steel would land and he twisted the sword out of her hand, grabbing it with his free hand he flipped the blade into his hand and he tossed it at the skull of one of the other soldiers, the pommel crashing against the front of his helmet which would make him collapse. He quickly turned the woman around and held his arm around her throat, applying pressure until she fell limply into an unconscious state. “H-holy crap Cain!” Lilly yelled as she winced in pain.

  • As the two were immediately subdued, the remaining three backed away, before.. one took his sword, and rammed the weapon into his stomach. The man cried out in anguish and fear, ripping it out sideways as intestines fell from his opened wound, blood spilling into the ground. He had been driven to that.. what were they truly dealing with? "Kill them, gut them, wear their skulls. Doesn't matter, when the strings are pulled." The lines kept getting stranger and stranger.. as the two remaining soldiers held up their weapons with a certain fear, their hands shaking from anxiety.

  • Cain’s eyes went wide as the soldier had killed himself. As this happened, he could only think of one thing to do. “Cain, what are you-?!” Lilly was interrupted as Cain approached her and sent his fist down on the back of her head, knocking her out. As soon as Lilly fell down he put his hand down as a cushion to protect her face. He then grabbed his shield off his back and tossed it at the soldier on his left. The shield rebounded off of the soldiers skull, then flew into the other soldiers, knocking both unconscious to the ground. Cain looked at his sister, his eyes wet with what he had just been pushed to do. “Sorry sister...” he said under his choking breath as he picked the girl up and threw her over his shoulder. He saw his spear by the captain and stomped on it, sending its front up towards him. He gripped it with his left hand as he looked down the mine. Evil things generally are Deeper in the dungeon, right? “I ain’t afraid of no ghost.” Cain told himself as he broke into a jog down the mine shaft.

  • The depths of the mining shaft were just as bad. Blood streaked the stone walls, as that same cruel heat from earlier began to make Cain sweat, beads of released water running down the side of his face. The leather armor's insulation didn't help his situation at all. The man would find himself within.. a dug up tomb. It was devoid of life and blood, as no miners were there. Yet.. there was a presence there. Cain was being watched.

  • Cain looked around the old tomb, his grip on his spear ready for an instant strike as he made sure Lilly was alright over his shoulder. He raised an eyebrow as he twirled his spear between his fingers. “I believe Alex would have called this, “incredibly Cliche.”’ He said in an attempt to draw out his watcher.

  • The tomb would remain silent, at least outside of the distant singing and the pounding heat. In an empty casket, Cain caught himself studying what may have been a page of a book. The page was cryptic, written in a foreign lettering, yet the hems of the paper glistened with a distant light.

  • Cain remained silent as he studied the book, putting his spear down and reaching for the glowing pages with his right hand. He gripped the corner, then turned the page.

  • Cain would be in for one hell of a ride. The man's vision would blur as it descended into tunnel vision, magenta lights blasting in his view. The distant singing would end only then, as the truth came clear for him to peer within.. --------------------------------- I remember the day that the Sun King came. Or rather, my adoptive father. October Seventeenth. The year was Fourteen-Ten. The foreboding, dark kingdom of Zyria had been at war against House Trayven for three years, eight months, and twenty-two days exactly. The Charge at the Black Gate resulted in massive casualties, yet survivors were spared. The Battle of the Boreal Ridge resulted in the death of my corrupt father, Julius Rainier. I could see them coming, towards our surrounded city. Their purple and white flags hovered above their shining ranks, that prideful golden lion of Trayven in the centerpiece. The black shadow of Ragnarok was casted over the city's tallest towers, our stationed armies being covered entirely by the shadow of his wings while the legendary daughter of Khaom would bear her own lion flag. I thought I could see the King's Trueborn in the distance, golden hair and purple garb; with a claymore taller than I. Gods, the view was.. so terrifying, yet so fantastic too. When the Sun King came into our halls after our surrender, he looked upon the youthful form of terrible Lucius' son: he found himself looking at me. I felt so.. pathetic, compared to a giant of a man such as him. I was frail and young, only six, while he loomed over me, his beard like a golden mane, mixed with grey whiskers. He kneeled before me, pressing his ungloved hand against my paling cheek, and merely muttered. "Be not fearful, child. I am here." --------------------------------- Cain would wake up, afterwards, to a brief shaking. As if there was.. an earthquake.

  • He looked around wide eyed as he found himself in a panic, looking to his right to see he had dropped Lilly. He quickly shook her. “Lilly, Lilly!” He yelled. The girl stirred, then opened her eyes from her unconscious state. “Cain...?” She said weakly. “Did you...did you karate chop me in the back of the head.” “Yes, but enough of that. We need to leave here, now!” He said as he gripped his sister and slung her over his shoulder. “W-wait! Whoa!” Lilly said as Cain grasped his spear and looked to the entrance.

  • The entrance had yet to close, yet the shaking would only continue. What wasn't helping Cain would be streaks of blue that scattered his vision, yet he could see clearly to some extent still.

  • “Lilly...” Cain said as he began to run to the exit. “I am seeing...blue.” “Blue?!” “Yes. Blue streaks. What is it?” “I’m not sure?! Your eyes are being more sensitive to light then usual?!” Cain ran out the door, continuing to make his way up the mines.

  • Pieces of rubble and debris had begun to fall upon Cain and Lilly, while the soldiers and miners had only begun to stir, one female attempting to rise up in her beaten form.
>Alert the soldiers and miners to escape >Help the soldiers and miners escape >Leave them to die
• “We need to help them!” Lilly yelled. “I agree, can you walk?” “Ya I can walk! You’re the one who picked me up!” Cain put Lilly down and she immediately ran to one of the soldiers. “Are you okay?” She asked the soldier, her hand glowing with a bright light.

  • "The voice is gone.." The soldier murmured, trying to stand. He attempted to rise up to his feet, before staying on his knees, groaning in pain. "Coldbournes, Dojo.. Trayven, my King.."

  • “I...okay, just hold on!” Lilly said as she planted an open palm on the man’s chest. The course of her healing magic flowed through him. Her natural talent for healing would help all of the soldiers significantly, but she would have to treat each one individually. And fast.

  • She didn't have much time, though, as the cavern shook and crumbled. At this rate, they had a few options - attempt to heal all of the soldiers out in the freezing weather, or fully heal at least one or two, maybe three, before abandoning the rest of the wounded.

“C-crap!” Lilly said under her breath. “Cain, we have to just get everyone out of here!” “How do you propose we do...oh wait...I have an idea.” “Uh oh. That’s like a really uncommon occurrence Cain. You sure we wanna take this road?” Cain looked at his sister with disgruntled stare. She rubbed the back of her head with an innocent smile and he shook his head. “Yes. Yes I do.” Cain told her before he raised his hands to his lips and whistled. The sounds of hooves beating on the ground filled the cave. They got closer and closer, before their point of origin ran through the wall like a ghost. A blue flaming skeletal horse. Cains steed, Anjelica. He quickly mounted the horse, grabbing Lilly and pulling her up. He looked down to the soldier. “Grab on to her rib cage!” Cain told the soldier as he pointed to the undead steeds exposed ribs. “Now!”

  • The steed would draw in only that soldier, while a few would hang on to the horse with whatever strength that they had left. Though the entrance was close enough where they could still manage saving all of the men.

  • Cain leapt off his steed, and the horse ran out with all of the soldiers who had taken grasp of it along with Lilly. Cain ran to each soldier, helping them as quickly as he could until he was able to round up all of them. With that, he lead the way towards the exit of the mine.

  • The two's operation would save the group, to say the very least. As the soldiers and Coldbournes found themselves outside, the team of men and women would ignite a small flame, melting away the ice. The captain from before would stare at Cain, before only nodding at him. Meanwhile, both Coldbournes could detect confusion in the soldier's voices. "I saw him, the bаstard child.." "No, not the Immortal One.." "That damn singing made me.." "What was that singing?" ...A bit of questioning would be good.
