"...There's nothing here, other than a mining operation." The captain would only unsheathe his sword a little, his soldiers following in progression. "Ma'am.. I ask you to leave. Now."

  • Lilly crossed her arms and pouted, adorably so, as she looked at what she thought was a captain. Her cheeks puffed up as she looked at him with sad eyes.

  • With that, one of the soldiers did raise her hand in question, while another shivered, a sigh escaping the lips. Meanwhile, the captain opened his mouth a little, confusion crossing his face. "Ma'am, there's.. there's rocks, here. Mining. I can show you through the mine itself.."

  • Lilly suddenly beamed with happiness. "Hooray! Let's go look at it then!" She said as she walked down to the soldiers with a skip in her step. Cain yanked his spear out of the ground, and didn't bother to put it on his back. Rather, he threw it to the captain so that he could take it.

  • With his attention on Lilly, the captain didn't notice the spear, of which slammed into his chest and caused him to yell out. He juggled the spear in his hands to his own embarrassment, as a few of his troops slipped in giggles and laughs. "Damn Dojo members.." He would mutter. As Lilly progressed onwards, she would be lead through by a few of the seemingly.. more likable soldiers, perhaps. The man and woman that accompanied her showed her each and every mining deposit - valuable rocks, iron deposits, whatever they needed for "the wars to come". For an enemy of the Dojo, they were oddly kind. Then, the two would spot the supplies. They had seemingly appeared, plentiful in amount as well. Piles of weapons, ammunition, tomes, armor.. all randomly assorted. The question was how the two would get them out, especially with their oddly friendly guards.. who didn't notice the supplies at all.

  • Lilly knew that if they were to slip away, the entire mine would be set on alert. If they lied about it or deceived the people, that would only fuel more aggression. She had to ensure that their actions were honest, so.... "Hey! Look! Our stuff!" Lilly yelled out as she pointed at the supplies, even going as far as grabbing the male soldiers hand and running towards the supplies with him in tow. "Wow it all just appeared here!" Lilly told them with a strong sense of genuineness.

  • "Your.. stuff?" The soldier would question, with a certain confusion. But why? There was a Dojo symbol upon it.. which, at least in Lilly's viewing of it, kept switching back and forth. A Japanese-styled building, back to a lion's maw, over and over.. "That's our supplies.."

  • "Uhhhhh...." Lilly scratched her head. "But it just...appeared here! What's going on with the sigils?" She asked as her mind was focused on the changing of emblems.

  • "What just appeared there? It's just.." "Peace.. never lasts. Negotiations.. have passed. Take control of your fate, act upon your own, Subdue the threat, return them to stone." The song lyrics, sung by a woman in the distance, would repeat over and over and over.. in Lilly's head, anyway.

  • Lilly suddenly stumbled down, holding her head as a splitting head ache formed from the sudden sound. "Did...did anyone else...hear that?" She asked as Cain rushed to her side.

  • The soldiers would try to respond, yet they would clutch their heads, as the few miners in the background did the very same. Some began to murmur to themselves, a female soldier screaming out in terror. The captain had begun to shook, before his hand found itself upon the hilt of his sword. "Act upon your own. Act upon your own."

  • Cain turned to face the soldier, still kneeling by his sister. "You wouldn't dare...." Cain said menacingly to the man.

  • "S-Sir, I.. ...no, no no no no." The captain twitched, his eyes becoming an eerie light blue. From there.. the sword in his hand was raised upwards, over Cain's head.

  •
uh oh
Cain, quick in his reaction, suddenly jolted up. His arm flung up towards the captains jaw like a crank as his palm was sent towards the bottom of his skull.

  • "Yes." The female voice sung into Cain's head, the pain shooting into his fist as the captain's head shot back. The soldiers began to circle around Cain, their swords wavering as they kept a defensive line.

  • Cain shook his head. He didn’t understand this voice, but he would defend his sister out of his own choices. Not some ghost. “Stay back now, please.” He told the rest of the soldiers as he neared his sister. “If you keep your distance, no one has to be harmed.” “Cain....” Lilly said. “The voice....it’s...too powerful....” “I won’t listen to some voice I’ve never heard before.”

"Act. Upon. Your. Own." The words were practically roaring into Lilly's poor ears, while Cain could only hear mangled songs, bits and pieces of what was once music. The soldiers had lost themselves, two of them approaching Cain with their weapons drawn. The twi that had escorted Lilly..

  • “Why is everyone acting so strange...” Cain said. “The music is not that bad.” “WHAT MUSIC?!” Lilly roared as she then covered her ears. Cain raised his hand up to the soldiers, a warning. “If you take two more steps, I will ensure you will find yourself on the ground.”

  • "But the Coldbournes.." "No, not him!" "Release the anger, and numb the pain.. Succumb to destiny, fulfill your fate.." These lyrics practically blared through the room, causing one man to fall to his knees. The female, screaming "Stop it!" would take a swing at Cain's middle half.

  • Cain suddenly leapt into her swing, grabbing her wrist before her steel would land and he twisted the sword out of her hand, grabbing it with his free hand he flipped the blade into his hand and he tossed it at the skull of one of the other soldiers, the pommel crashing against the front of his helmet which would make him collapse. He quickly turned the woman around and held his arm around her throat, applying pressure until she fell limply into an unconscious state. “H-holy crap Cain!” Lilly yelled as she winced in pain.

  • As the two were immediately subdued, the remaining three backed away, before.. one took his sword, and rammed the weapon into his stomach. The man cried out in anguish and fear, ripping it out sideways as intestines fell from his opened wound, blood spilling into the ground. He had been driven to that.. what were they truly dealing with? "Kill them, gut them, wear their skulls. Doesn't matter, when the strings are pulled." The lines kept getting stranger and stranger.. as the two remaining soldiers held up their weapons with a certain fear, their hands shaking from anxiety.

  • Cain’s eyes went wide as the soldier had killed himself. As this happened, he could only think of one thing to do. “Cain, what are you-?!” Lilly was interrupted as Cain approached her and sent his fist down on the back of her head, knocking her out. As soon as Lilly fell down he put his hand down as a cushion to protect her face. He then grabbed his shield off his back and tossed it at the soldier on his left. The shield rebounded off of the soldiers skull, then flew into the other soldiers, knocking both unconscious to the ground. Cain looked at his sister, his eyes wet with what he had just been pushed to do. “Sorry sister...” he said under his choking breath as he picked the girl up and threw her over his shoulder. He saw his spear by the captain and stomped on it, sending its front up towards him. He gripped it with his left hand as he looked down the mine. Evil things generally are Deeper in the dungeon, right? “I ain’t afraid of no ghost.” Cain told himself as he broke into a jog down the mine shaft.

  • The depths of the mining shaft were just as bad. Blood streaked the stone walls, as that same cruel heat from earlier began to make Cain sweat, beads of released water running down the side of his face. The leather armor's insulation didn't help his situation at all. The man would find himself within.. a dug up tomb. It was devoid of life and blood, as no miners were there. Yet.. there was a presence there. Cain was being watched.

  • Cain looked around the old tomb, his grip on his spear ready for an instant strike as he made sure Lilly was alright over his shoulder. He raised an eyebrow as he twirled his spear between his fingers. “I believe Alex would have called this, “incredibly Cliche.”’ He said in an attempt to draw out his watcher.

  • The tomb would remain silent, at least outside of the distant singing and the pounding heat. In an empty casket, Cain caught himself studying what may have been a page of a book. The page was cryptic, written in a foreign lettering, yet the hems of the paper glistened with a distant light.

  • Cain remained silent as he studied the book, putting his spear down and reaching for the glowing pages with his right hand. He gripped the corner, then turned the page.
