"Yes. Absolutely." Cain told her affirmatively. "We know these mountains like the back of our hands." Lilly leaned forward from where she sat so she could look at Vic when she spoke. "Y-ya! Even after the serious time gap, they haven't changed all that much!" "I still don't know how this fabric is supposed to protect me." Cain piped up. "Steel would be better. This will just tear." "Cain, I think the armour market has changed a bit since the last time you suited up."

  • "You're more agile than strong, sir. Without armor, you'd weave through combat. With light armor, you'll do the same." Victoria hopped out, placing down the beacon and opening up the back so that Cain and Lilly could retrieve their necessities.

  • Cain and Lilly both looked at eavhther for a moment. Lilly shrugged as Cain gave a bit of a pout, knowing the woman was right but still disappointed about not having metal armour. They stepped out of the vehicle and approached the truck, grabbing their packs of supplies. In this case, Cain grabbing the bulk of the load while Lilly had her own pack over her shoulders.

  • As Victoria would prime the beacon and activate it, the air circulating through the area would slowly warm, though only a little. A slight heat would breeze by the three from the sides of the mountain, as Victoria looked upwards at the frozen cliffs, confusion etched upon her face. It remained quiet, from there. Victoria had finished priming the beacon, as it glowed with a brilliant lime green light. "...You two, stay safe.. please."

  • "We'll be back in no time! Don't worry!" Lilly said with optimism. "Just have our payment ready." Cain quickly said afterwards. "Cain!!!" "What?" "Ugh. Never mind! We'll be back!" With that, the two began their ascent up the mountain, towards whatever they would find on the way.

  • As the two traversed throughout the seemingly familiar mountain pathways, they would find something different. Heat. As they carried onwards, it was as if the higher they went, the hotter it was: it would begin slowly, the beginning trudge as cold as ever. Yet as progress was made, the temperature would slowly rise, until it stopped at sixty degrees Fahrenheit. The two would find themselves in one of the mountain's small caverns, a rocky cover hanging high over them. And, to their right.. a deep tunnel. Fiery heat rushed past their faces, as the eerie darkness grew ever quieter. Something was down there.. and the signal that lead to the supplies pointed towards the new cave, too.

  • "This is strange Cain." Lilly said with a mix of confusion and concern. "Its fall. No where should be this hot in the mountains unless something is making that happen!" "Yes. It's not right." Cain agreed with his sister. Then...said nothing else. "Nothing to add?" "I am thinking." "Oh! Sorry..." Cain looked down the cave for a moment. He didn't blink as his eyebrows furrowed. Lilly raised an eyebrow at her brother as he was silent. A few seconds went by. Then a couple dozen. Cain still frowned as he thought real hard. Lilly whistled softly and tapped her foot, looking up at the ceiling until Cain finally spoke. "No. I have nothing to add." "Well that was productive."

Well, as they traversed further on, they'd find something of a source of the anomaly. The two would find themselves overlooking a massive cavern, lit by flickering, wooden torches that had been bolted to the walls. A spiral staircase lead down, made of wood and supported by stands. Deep below, armored men and women, alongside miners, had moved around the mine. Their armor and cloth was a deep violet in color, almost a regal color, though most miners wore a plain white. They seemed to be.. mining the mountain from within.
Decisions! •Attempt to search for a stealth route. •Attack the men and women. •Attempt peace with the men and women. •Call in backup. •Do something unique (your own thoughts).
•
-Attempt peace
"They're...they're just mining." Lilly said as the two quickly ducked behind a large rock which provided cover. "But what of the guards?" "Well you'd w-wanna protect your workers, right?" "Yes. That makes sense." "So...should we just...talk to them?" "By we I hope you mean you." "Yes...of course." "Then I have no objections sister. However let me stand more to the front. In case...trouble, arises." "O-okay." Lilly and Cain stood up from their cover, and Cain led the way. He stood in front of Lilly, but not enough to cover her from view. He walked to her left as the two looked at the workers. "H-hello!" Lilly greeted them with a raised hand.

  • The initial arrival of Cain and Lilly hadn't gone unnoticed, as the assorted soldiers and miners turned around, a few gasping in a certain fear, even anger. Their fears were confirmed by a single, terrible word. "...Coldbourne." A few of the guards drew their weapons - straight swords in design, simple yet efficient. There were roughly five, while their leader would speak to Lilly and Cain. "You are outnumbered, Coldbournes! Lay down your arms, else we shall be forced t drive you off." It was hard to tell whether the men would actually assault them or not, but it was more than obvious that the men only thought of them to be affiliated with the Coldbournes - not knowing that they were actual members of the family.

  • "Put down you spear..." Lilly told Cain. Carefully not using his name. Cain furrowed his brow, but listened to his sister as he impaled his spear into the stone ground, embedding it into the rock. "We are not associated with the remnants of T-Tywin's army." Lilly told the leader. "We helped the dojo in their attack on cold town. Y-you can talk to anyone from there and they would confirm it!"

  • "I can see the bigger one helping.. but you, girlie? The Dojo uses child soldiers too?" One of the men spoke up, while the captain considered the options available. "...The Dojo.. is an enemy to our foundation. Their crimes against humanity have given us more than enough reasons to declare warfare upon them, lest they surrender and assist us in the wars to come. However, as an honorable man, I shall allow you both to leave with your lives, your weapons, and whatever else that you brought upon your being. I also ask that you do not assault this place with whatever forces you may have - we will be long gone by then, I can assure you that much. Else.."
•Attack the armed men and women only, but spare the civilians. •Slaughter everyone. •Leave the mine. •Leave the mine, and call for backup.
• "We...we can't do that." Lilly told the guard, disheartened. "We have something to find in here. You can let us pass, or we'll have to force our way through. Please choose the former...."

  • "...There's nothing here, other than a mining operation." The captain would only unsheathe his sword a little, his soldiers following in progression. "Ma'am.. I ask you to leave. Now."

  • Lilly crossed her arms and pouted, adorably so, as she looked at what she thought was a captain. Her cheeks puffed up as she looked at him with sad eyes.

  • With that, one of the soldiers did raise her hand in question, while another shivered, a sigh escaping the lips. Meanwhile, the captain opened his mouth a little, confusion crossing his face. "Ma'am, there's.. there's rocks, here. Mining. I can show you through the mine itself.."

  • Lilly suddenly beamed with happiness. "Hooray! Let's go look at it then!" She said as she walked down to the soldiers with a skip in her step. Cain yanked his spear out of the ground, and didn't bother to put it on his back. Rather, he threw it to the captain so that he could take it.

  • With his attention on Lilly, the captain didn't notice the spear, of which slammed into his chest and caused him to yell out. He juggled the spear in his hands to his own embarrassment, as a few of his troops slipped in giggles and laughs. "Damn Dojo members.." He would mutter. As Lilly progressed onwards, she would be lead through by a few of the seemingly.. more likable soldiers, perhaps. The man and woman that accompanied her showed her each and every mining deposit - valuable rocks, iron deposits, whatever they needed for "the wars to come". For an enemy of the Dojo, they were oddly kind. Then, the two would spot the supplies. They had seemingly appeared, plentiful in amount as well. Piles of weapons, ammunition, tomes, armor.. all randomly assorted. The question was how the two would get them out, especially with their oddly friendly guards.. who didn't notice the supplies at all.

  • Lilly knew that if they were to slip away, the entire mine would be set on alert. If they lied about it or deceived the people, that would only fuel more aggression. She had to ensure that their actions were honest, so.... "Hey! Look! Our stuff!" Lilly yelled out as she pointed at the supplies, even going as far as grabbing the male soldiers hand and running towards the supplies with him in tow. "Wow it all just appeared here!" Lilly told them with a strong sense of genuineness.

  • "Your.. stuff?" The soldier would question, with a certain confusion. But why? There was a Dojo symbol upon it.. which, at least in Lilly's viewing of it, kept switching back and forth. A Japanese-styled building, back to a lion's maw, over and over.. "That's our supplies.."

  • "Uhhhhh...." Lilly scratched her head. "But it just...appeared here! What's going on with the sigils?" She asked as her mind was focused on the changing of emblems.

  • "What just appeared there? It's just.." "Peace.. never lasts. Negotiations.. have passed. Take control of your fate, act upon your own, Subdue the threat, return them to stone." The song lyrics, sung by a woman in the distance, would repeat over and over and over.. in Lilly's head, anyway.

  • Lilly suddenly stumbled down, holding her head as a splitting head ache formed from the sudden sound. "Did...did anyone else...hear that?" She asked as Cain rushed to her side.

  • The soldiers would try to respond, yet they would clutch their heads, as the few miners in the background did the very same. Some began to murmur to themselves, a female soldier screaming out in terror. The captain had begun to shook, before his hand found itself upon the hilt of his sword. "Act upon your own. Act upon your own."

  • Cain turned to face the soldier, still kneeling by his sister. "You wouldn't dare...." Cain said menacingly to the man.

  • "S-Sir, I.. ...no, no no no no." The captain twitched, his eyes becoming an eerie light blue. From there.. the sword in his hand was raised upwards, over Cain's head.
