Why did our Guardians become mute in D2?

In D1 my Guardian was not the most talkative person but they did talk. In D2 my Guardian hasn't spoken a single word, why??? In the credits you have voice actor's listed for all the Guardian types so why when they don't speak now? Did those voice actors mime lines or something? However much I love Nolan North's rendition of Ghost I still would have loved to have my Guardian speak maybe even more than they did in D1 (as Ghost's and Guardian's friendship would have grown through the events of D1) but instead you have become like Master Blaster from Mad Max 3 where Ghost (Master) is the brains and the Guardian (Blaster) are now just the dumb, mute brawn. To highlight my point, Guardian lines in D1: "will it fly?", "there's nothing left", "what happened to it?", "what can I do?", "who is that?", "out where?", "we go down", "you're here", "who are you?", "is that why you brought us here?", "can you help us find it?", "so, how do we find the Awoken?", "no, little light", "where did all this come from?", "it's a graveyard", "how did the Awoken survive?", "we are from Earth, we are here to seek the counsel of the Awoken", "looks like we're in the right place", "we've come to ask for help", "I am a Guardian from Earth, we're searching for the Black Garden", "we seek to destroy the Darkness at its heart", "do you know where it is?", "can you help us?", "why do you want a Vex head?", "we will return", "we didn't run", "ghost", "we need to find the Black Garden", "I understand", "your grace" and "don't think I have a choice" Guardian lines in D2: Point made.

 • Why this also concerns me is that it can feed into the suggestions that the Traveler is not as benign as we are all lead to believe. There has been suggestions that the Traveler uses species in its efforts to fight and evade what we call the "Darkness". There is material in the lore that suggests that at the collapse the Traveler tried to flee and leave humanity alone to fight the Darkness but Rasputin attacked and disabled the Traveler to stop it. Why did the Traveler in its then dying moments create the Ghosts to hunt down and reanimate dead warriors and effectively create a near immortal undead army? Why is it that our Guardians can remember how to walk, talk and use their old combat skills and yet have no memories of their previous lives? Are Guardians simply puppets really controlled by their Ghosts and thus the Traveler? 'Ghost Fragment: Darkness 4' summed up this issue really well talking about Guardians: This war is all there is for you. What else do you have? You walk among mortals and immortals, a creature lost in time. Your only purpose is the struggle. Does it seem unfair? To be brought back into this, the end of days, the long dwindling exhalation of an ancient corpse? You were at peace. Now you are a dead husk charged with war. Do you remember anything of freedom? Fight on, then. The war IS everything. But consider the choices before you
