Chapter Fifty Four
Zane found himself standing over a broken, beaten Tywin. But Zane's power....it was gone. All of it. He could feel it because for the first time in his life he felt...Complete. As if someone had removed a complicated puzzle from his dining room table and what was left was a clean slate.
He had his buster sword in hand, the weapon he had used for....as long as he could remember. It had been with him through everything. And it had pushed him through this final task.
Tywin, however, was alive. He pushed himself off the ground, his old weak body blood stained with fatal wounds. He breathed heavily and weakly, as if every breath he took sounded a cat scratching a chalk board.
He looked blankly up, towards the sky, and as he did so Zane felt presences stand beside him. He saw his friends, the ones who helped him defeat his terrible foe. They were...transparent. But their features were still clearly seen. They all looked down at Tywin, as did Zane.
"E-everything...." The old man said softly. "For...naught...."
He limped his head down, so that he looked at Zane. But...not to his face. It was to his chest. Like Tywin was looking through Zane rather then at him.
"Everything...is so....cold...." he whispered. Before his eyes twitched, and his body fell limply forward, lifeless in every sense. His skin began to crumble, turning into a white powder, and the rest of his body followed suit. And all that was left of the old king.
Was a pile of snow.
The group looked at the pile for a moment. When-
"YES!!!" Alex suddenly yelled out, running over to the pile and kicking the snow everywhere. "TWO AGAINST ONE OLD MAN! BEST OUT OF THREE! I WIN! OFFICIALLY! HUZZAH!!!" He exclaimed in victory, which resulted in a laugh from the rest of the group.
zane. Time to end this.
