The young librarian, Violet, sat at a desk near the entrance, waiting for anyone who comes into the library so she could offer her assistance. No one ever showed, but she was extra positive today that just maybe someone would finally decide to show up for once.
"Please? Anyone?" She muttered to herself.
Open. Extremely knowledgeable, intelligent, and decently strong mage with the largest library on magic if anyone wants to interact.
Samuel Weiss entered the library, wearing but a two piece suit and a helmet of some futuristic design, while featureless besides being formed around his skull, it felt like he was watching everything in the room with a gaze of unknown intent. Nonetheless he had approached the librarian, intending on acquiring a few books. "Hello. I wish to acquire tomes or books on the art of 'anti-magic'. Would you happen to own anything of the sort here? I would be grateful if you can assist."
-
The woman looked up with surprise, her hood falling back to reveal her long blond hair and unnatural purple eyes. She smiled up at the man as she stood up to help. The white cloak she currently had on covered most of her body and the only thing of color she wore was a necklace that had a red gem in it. "I'd be glad to help, sir."
-
"Thank you. Would you care to point me in the direction of the aforementioned subject? I would most appreciate it." Samuel had replied, expression hidden under the faceless helmet. However, underneath it he was rather glad things were going smoothly thus far. But he was careful enough to not show it in his voice.
-
Violet got out from behind her desk and began to walk away. "If you'll just follow me, sir."
-
"Of course." Samuel had followed Violet. "Tell me, what types of 'anti-magic' are there?"
-
"Well, depends on what kind of magic you're trying to stop and the species of the target...as well as a lot of other factors. There are items, chants, pressure points, and much more." They continued down the endless shelves. "You have to be careful with what you use and on who or it may have no effect at all."
-
"Hmm. I suppose I should start with something I can do on my free time...Chants or Hand signs I suppose. Preferably ones that work against humans or human-like species. Including halfbreeds."
-
"Also depends on how they get their magic. Whether or not it's internal or external. For example, some get powers from energy around them and others get powers from an inner source like, mana."
-
"Can I....just get something that works without being bogged by technical shit?" Samuel was getting a bit annoyed by now.
-
Violet rolled her eyes and sighed. "You're here to use this information in a fight, aren't you? F*cking...god damnit. Here." She walked up to a shelf and pulled out a small black box. "Opening this box will suck inside all magic within a one meter radius for a few minutes before opening again and releasing the magic. It'll give you a short window."
-
"If a 'fight' counts as getting rid of rogue mages who wish to do nothing but kill innocents on a terroristic scale then yes, I do require it for a fight. Do I need to return this? If so then I must ask for an alternative I am afraid. If I am limited by time then I surely cannot save others, correct?"
-
"You don't have to return it. Those are actually quite simple to make. Also, it takes about an hour after being used to recharge. Try not to die." Violet rolled her eyes.
-
Samuel grabbed the box and held it in his arm. "Thank you. You have done a lot of citizens a service today." Thus, Samuel left.
end?
A goat-like person walked into the library, tired and worn. Of course, there were only two of them, so Violet had a good guess even if she hadn't met them before of who she was. The woman seemed about 19, but had the tiredness of a mother, a woman who had just managed to get some free time to herself without fear for her children. She approached Violet, and spoke up. "This is the Library, correct?"

She activated a menu in front of her, typed some things, and finally began to...well, speak. “Is this the library?” It asks Violet in a feminine voice.
-
A robed figure with an odd helmet walked to the front desk. A small geometric companion followed. The person was silent. But the little spark spoke up. "Hey, uh, my Guardian was wondering if she needed a library card to check out a few books," the spark geometric shape asked. It had a feminine voice.
-
"Nope. My magic keeps everything organized and if anything is overdue you'll simply be given horrible curses that may cause death." The librarian smiled at the Ghost.

Edited by Splashback77: 10/1/2017 3:43:14 AM"Oh, great!" The Ghost replied. She looked to her guardian, "Go pick out your books." The Warlock whispered to the Ghost. Then the Ghost turned back to Violet, "She would also like to know where the books on Tatakai's flora and fauna are."
-
Violet pointed to a section nearby. "Near the center and at the bottom you'll find what you need. Have to say, most people come in here for something violent so I like this change."
-
The robed figure browsed through the books, then came back after a few minutes, carrying a stack of books.
-
"Just remember to return them within the week or you'll be horribly cursed!" Violet waved goodbye.
-
"Wait!" The Ghost asked, "Can we renew them?"
-
"If you bring them back you can renew them, yes." Violet nodded.
-
"Oh, okay!" The Ghost and her guardian went on their way.
