This is a major issue Cozmo. Even Luke Smith ( the failed director of Destiny ) acknowledged this issue before the release. There are multiple things to consider Static Perks are good for Casual Players who play 2-3 hour a week. Static Perks are also good for Crucible as it is easier to balance weapons that have static perks. However there is also another side of the system which is Replay-ability. After 2-3 weeks in the game drops mean jack. They lost the importance and value as other than milestone engrams all drops are below our light and means nothing. Once you hit 305 which is the most any guardian can hit , all is done with the game. Even milestones will not mean anything because all you can get is the identical gun you already have. Also you need to consider the player base that kept Destiny alive and supported everything you did. The 2-5% of the player base whom even supported failed Luke and Mark all these years. How do you plan to keep those players continue to play the game is a huge question. Raid offers no benefit. Trials is a major cash grap area for top skilled PVP players and Streamers. maybe you think that will keep people going on but if you start loosing players from 2-5% of player base , do you think casuals will care about going to Lighthouse ? Nay most don't even know there is a competitive event or any will spend at least an hour to play PVP. The main issue is Bungie and the leaders of the game doesn't have clear strategy on how to move forward even after 3 years. I sincerely hope you will build that strategy for good as a company otherwise this game will slowly die. I really don't want that to happen because i loved the franchise and spent so many time on this game.
