I've said it before and I'll say it again. PvE and PvP gear needs to be separate. PvP needs gear that you can only take into PvP, this is where there should be static rolls. PvE should have it's own gear that's only allowed in PvE, this is where we get random rolls. Other games do this with success, I don't know why Bungie refuses to adopt this system.

I like the removal of random rolls. I hate layers of random stacked on top of each other in games. Too much random is a bad thing. Having to grind the same weapons over and over in a random drop loot system just to hope random rolls on said weapons are good is tedious and boring. That is not motivation to keep playing, it's motivation to find a different game to play.

I get that. RNG on top of RNG on top of RNG is not a fun system. There are ways around it though. The new vendor system is a good start, you go to one planet to farm for a specific set of weapons and gear. Maybe divide a new set amongst the lost sectors. This lost sector drops the chest, that one drops the hand cannon, etc.

Because that takes effort and we all know Bungie isn't a practitioner of that school of game design.

At this point their refusal to adopt this system can only be put down to sheer laziness.
