It was quiet for a moment, before he spoke again
"Freelance work? This is new, 4294 normally sends me any random bloke. Interesting. Duchess, calling you off."
You heard a sigh from a radio, then a scream of happiness
"Yeah yeah. So, you want to work freelance?"

"Yeah, if possible. I have a crew that I usually work jobs with, as you can see from my background. We tend to do alot of high risk jobs." Serendipity said, taking a sigh of relief at the news. "For example... Trigon Corporation lost blue prints to an Interstellar hyper space capable nuclear warhead. Those blue prints, needless to say, would have tipped the scales of power throughout the galaxy. We got those plans back... And may have handed them over to the authorities." Serendipity said, shrugging her shoulders at the last part.

"Which, if I remember correctly, then made its way into our hands. Well done there, excellent job. Leo Armaments really hated when we blew their main plant on Yarat-7 sky high. Excellent, excellent work" He laughed "The issue here is we normally only contract one freelance at a time. If you worked as a Merc for us full time, that would change, but we normally only handle one Merc at a time for freelance"

"So would I be unable to bring my crew in on these missions then?" Serendipity inquired, smiling at the reminder of an old job.

"Again, this is normally. However, your crew did good work for us without realizing it. I'm not sure if you ever noticed, but you did get an extra billion credits in your payroll that wasn't specified. So based on that, I would say we might be able to work something out"

"Always thought those credits were an accounting glitch... And to think. We gave most of it away to Smart Solutions. Those guys are the real heroes. Their work on Mowedna was unbelievable. Brought the whole damn civilization back from ruin!"

"We might have backed them a small amount in the background too, as we have some interests in the civilization. Enough talk however. What does your team normally do for missions?"

"We cover everything. Defending a single point, stealing from places that are deemed impossible, protecting high value targets in battle, assassinations. You name it, we've done it at least once... Including destroy a world..." Serendipity fell silent towards the end, looking away for a moment.

"Well then, you are perfect for the job. We needed someone to destroy a planet, and here we are. Interested?"

"Depends. What planet are we destroying? What did they do to warrant such a feat?" Serendipity inquired, looking back at the line.

"To be specific, an artificial planet. Factory world by one of our competitors. These guys love building weapons of mass destruction. And also love messing with us"

"We can do it, yeah." Serendipity affirmed, relaxing her hands at her hips before crossing them over her chest. "Any specifications on how you want it done? I was thinking we could get on world, set off a few of their weapons on world."

"No no, I want you to blow up the core. You see, the world's core is the largest bomb we've seen them build. Setting it off could start a super nova. That's exactly what we want. I need your team to move the planet near the capital planet of that solar system, and blow the core next to it before leaving."

"Brutal..." Serendipity said, nodding her head. "Yeah we can do it."

"And one final thing...." A image flashed on the screen. He seemed to be a high ranking official "When you start thw detonation, grab this man and bring him to us....alive"

"Got ya. We'll see if we can find him. Does it matter if we don't? Or is he a priority?"

"You don't grab him, we dock your pay by 3/4s of what it should be"

"So he's a priority. Got it." Serendipity said, nodding her head. "We'll get him."

"Good. I'll send the details over. Complete the mission, and we will design a custom weapon based on your specifications at well" [spoiler]This Includes A Crappy Drawing From Me[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Noice...[/spoiler] "What about the payment? How much are we getting off of this?" Serendipity inquired, thinking about the potential weapon.

"Depending on how high tech you want the weapon, pay for each member will be 50 billion credits to 30 billion"

"That... Would set us up for the rest of our lives..." Serendipity said with a chuckle, shaking her head slightly.

"It is rare to pay so well to a free lancer, let alone multiple. However, Heretic plans on destroying multiple solar systems, so it is worth it. This is pay you could see working with us frequently"

"We'll take this first job, and sure maybe we'll do another few jobs afterwards. But we're still Freelance at heart." Serendipity stated firmly.

Serendipity quickly checked her omni tool, taking a look at the mission and smiling. [i]Damn. 30 billion credits...[/i] She laughed again, shaking her head as she thought to herself. Of course, under Nytehauk half of that 30-50 billion would be siezed by the Queen bee, buy that still left her with a good 15-25 billion credits to spare. But what did he mean when he said she might have to pick a side? Was there a war that would happen? A war of factions? Either way, she was sure Nytehauk wouldn't step in. The corporation wasn't one for bad blood with other factions. [spoiler]Cool, I'll wait. [/spoiler]
