The man would angle his body very slightly to the left, turning his blade slightly so Victoria's longsword would strike the flat part of the saber's blade. From there, he did a small rotation so that instead of the tip point straight up, it was angled more towards Victoria.
Next, the man stepped forward with his right foot–the one closer to Victoria–allowing him to move his sword forward in a thrust aimed at Victoria's torso. It was... effective swordsmanship, as the stance required very minimal movement yet still managed to block the attack and perhaps force Victoria back.
