Redeemed code giving error when going to redeem it.

I entered a Rockstar code and it shows in my code redemption history, but when click on the redeem link I get this: This offer requires a linked Destiny account attached to your profile before you may redeem it. Please link a Microsoft/Xbox Live Account or PSN Account that has played Destiny to this profile to proceed. All my other codes work, what is going on? I was able to redeem the pop tarts codes I received and yet the Rockstar ones give this error message.

At this time, we are aware that this error will appear primarily when players attempt to redeem codes using INTERNET EXPLORER, which is no longer supported by Bungie.net. Please attempt to redeem your code on an alternate web browser.
