The man would indeed take the rifle into his hands, holding it in what he assumed would be the proper way to hold it; left hand on the barrel, right hand on the grip, and stock pressed against his shoulder. He bent his head to look through the scopes at the target. He thought that it would be rather simple; aim, fire.
He pulled the trigger once, the recoil surprising him a bit. He readjusted and fired once more, this time ready for the gun's recoil. Both bullets would hit the target, not in its center where the man was aiming, but at least he didn't miss.
The man lowered the rifle, looking at the target in awe.
