VR room, Dojo 1024 hours The man had some work to do. He felt weak, in truth; something about not having enough fire. He had no method of defeating an opponent without using fire... and so should a weakness every appear, his only solution would be to overpower it with an excessive amount of fire. And that was his goal. So into the VR room he went. His shaggy, black hair was wavy as usual, strands of hair falling to the sides of his head instead of his forehead. His emerald green eyes would not remain that color for long; moments after entering the VR, they would change to a bright, sapphire blue. He had fair, slightly tanned skin and a rather handsome face of angular, well-proportioned features. For his attire, simple clothing; just a white, sleeveless undershirt for his top which was tight against his decently muscular torso, and a pair of black combat pants and boots. Standing at 5'11" with an athletic, mesomorphic physique, there wasn't really anything that stood out with the man. He appeared extremely average, in truth–if one ignored the one truly attention-drawing feature about him, which would be the carbon black cybernetic left arm. It looked like your stereotypical augment, its size and shape matching his other arm, but one could not be sure what features the arm had. Maybe it didn't have any. Or maybe it had tons. Now, for the environment within the VR. A plain, flat, badlands environment, with not a single object that rose to interrupt the flatness of the landscape. Nothing to see on the horizons, and nothing to obscure them. It was just flat, dry, and hot, with the sun beating down on the rocks and no clouds to provide any sort of temporary relief. The man stood in the middle of this desolate environment. Surrounded by hostiles, at least two dozen opponents. It would be a tough simulation, of course, but the man had a gut feeling that this had to be his minimum. This situation had to become easy to handle if he were to ever be worth anybody's attention. His right arm ignited in sapphire flames, and it became clear why he didn't wear much of a top. Smoke rose from the crackling flames, dark gray clouds with blue sparks rising in plumes, contrasting greatly against the bright blue sky. His cybernetic arm? The palm was opened, pointing at the ground while a moderately sized barrel extended from its center. It clearly wasn't a gun barrel. Aesthetically purposed veins in the cybernetic arm glowed a bright orange, also emitting smoke, with normal sparks of flame. It was time to begin. The first thing the man did was pointing his right palm directly at the ground, blasting a massive inferno of blue flames downwards and behind him. It acted as a propellent, blasting him forward towards his opponents. The lack of a balance propulsion caused him to eventually start spinning in midair, which in turn caused the inferno of blue flames which trailed behind him to spin along with him. That would be when he extended his cybernetic arm in the opposite direction of his right. A faint glowing was seen within its barrel, before a massive explosion of napalm bursting forth was seen, the hellish flames bursting out of the barrel. The man became a terrifying whirlwind of sapphire and napalm flames, each inferno extending out at least twenty feet. Needless to say, enemies were burnt. They might've been cooked alive in their armor, or their clothes and flesh burnt away. The only sounds were their agonized screaming and the constant hum of the man's flames. The twirling would continue until about 3/4ths of the enemies were on the ground and burning. That was when he was finally forced to stop, and instead charged at the remaining enemies. He'd dodge melee blows, and grip enemies' faces with his right palm and letting a combustion of sapphire flames burn their faces and heads off, or he'd simply unleash a massive trail of fire or blast of napalm. Either way, the enemies would fall, burning and screaming. Once the last one's life had burnt away, the man was left standing there, gasping for breath. The flames on his right arm had been extinguished, the glowing faded from his cybernetic arm, and his eyes returning to their original emerald green. The simulation ended, and he returned to the VR room, sweat beading on his forehead as he looked around. Perhaps somebody had entered the room while he was in the simulation, or perhaps not.
Open. Fight, no fight, interact, no interact, whatever.
• "Okay, who's the basterd lagging the system with high res napalm?!" The man walked into the room, looking extremely frustrated and most likely dissatisfied with his simulation experience.

  • "Always the.. fiery type, huh?" A soft, yet familiarly muffled chuckle would escape the black helmet of a rather familiar suit of armor, with it's ornaments still removed and a few more dents and scraps added to it's ceramite plate, it's owner merely spectating not from a camera view, but first-person. And indeed, they seemed.. impressed, with the man's work, from his avid pyromancy to the fluent melee. "Sorry for the pun, was saving it for a bit. You.. holding up well?" Victoria would speak up, while it was obvious that she was holding back from tackling Vance in a Power Armor hug. Mostly because she was in Power Armor.. and she didn't want people creeping on the two. Upon her being, she had her gladius and straight sword - typical melee gear for her, really, except without the shield.

  • The man would look up, standing up straight as he heard the voice of Victoria; the only one he could consider a true friend. He smiled at the figure dressed in Power Armor, and nodded in response to her question. "Yeah. Haven't lost any other limbs, haven't died yet... I'd say I'm doing pretty well. Yourself?" He asked, leaning back against the wall again. His right hand would subconsciously run through his slightly sweaty, shaggy hair, hoping that he didn't appear as an eyesore to the Sororitas.

  • "Been better, thanks for asking though.." The figurine would respond, before beginning to exit the black suit of armor. Or rather, since it was a virtual reality: the ceramite merely dissipated, leaving Victoria open to view: she wore a plain white t-shirt, alongside a sapphire tank top, bounding to her upper half. Alongside this was a pair of long, navy jeans, and combat boots alongside that. "Dealt with a few idiots in a bar.. may or may not have killed a Krogan, whatever that is. Try to avoid the Lounge of Blades for a bit, it's a mess. Anyway.. thought I could.. teach you some things. I know that you're already good in combat, with your fists. Though you should learn how to use a gun, too. Even a sword, or a weapon of your choosing."

  • The man raised an eyebrow with interest. He nodded, as a white t-shirt and black leather jacket formed on his torso–considering the fact that he has burnt his original undershirt right off with all that fire. "I'm interested," He replied, wondering where this was coming from. Never before had he ever found a sword or gun necessary, or at least not since he'd woken up with no memories. But perhaps it would be necessary, soon, and his fire and napalm wouldn't be enough. "So... what's the deal, teacher?" He inquired, smiling at Victoria with the same warmth as his own ability.

  • Damn, Vic was checking out those abs- Er, never mind. "We should start with a rifle first. Or just a melee weapon in general. I'll cover.. a quick explanation of either firearms and melee stuff. Your choice, student."

  • "Uhh... I guess firearms?" The man responded. He felt as though he was already sufficiently proficient in melee combat, but atrociously lacking in the firearm department.

  • There was certainly a cheerfulness to Victoria's face, as she couldn't hold back a grin. Sure, she would have preferred melee weaponry.. but imagining Vance with a reliable firearm, alongside his spectacle of raging flames? She'd imagine him to utilize a heat-based weapon. Maybe one of plasma or energy origin, or a ballistic weapon with heat-based rounds. She didn't understand the creation of firearms too well, but.. the Dojo was capable of the paranormal. She could find something. For now, she stuck to conjuring an M4 Carbine rifle in the simulation, priming the weapon for Vance before taking aim at a suddenly appearing figurine, blasting five rounds into it's chest before reloading. "This is a semi-automatic, military-class M4 Carbine, of which holds a magazine of thirty .556 millimeter rounds. It's reliable, and.. dangerous." Flipping on the safety, she approached Vance, before handing him the rifle. From there, she stood behind him, ensuring that the rifle's stock was good against his shoulder, ensuring that his grip was upon the rifle was good. "...When you're ready, press the safety, right there. Aim down the sights, and find your target..Then, hold down on the trigger until the bullet hits it's target." A target would spawn, ten yards away from the two's position.

  • The man would indeed take the rifle into his hands, holding it in what he assumed would be the proper way to hold it; left hand on the barrel, right hand on the grip, and stock pressed against his shoulder. He bent his head to look through the scopes at the target. He thought that it would be rather simple; aim, fire. He pulled the trigger once, the recoil surprising him a bit. He readjusted and fired once more, this time ready for the gun's recoil. Both bullets would hit the target, not in its center where the man was aiming, but at least he didn't miss. The man lowered the rifle, looking at the target in awe.

  • I feel as though I should put a "Victoria slightly approves" here. Though she certainly did approve. As Vance hit the target, she would murmur a quiet "Good!" as she beamed with a slight smile. It seemed easier than she originally thought. As the first shot hit, fifteen more targets would form. Victoria was testing Vance's accuracy, if anything.

  • Vance would immediately aim at the leftmost target, firing off a shot. The bullet struck the target, and he would then train the rifle's sights on the next when. It seemed as though he was focusing on hitting his target rather than shooting them down with speed, as his waiting a good two seconds after his sights had settled before firing again, the bullet hitting its mark. It would continue on like this for about a minute, until all 15 targets had been hit.

  • Indeed, Victoria felt quite better about educating Vance, even training him, in firearms. For some time, maybe an hour or so, they would stick with rifles, before spending thirty minutes on pistols. Victoria would educate Vance on shotguns and other forms of weaponry much later. "We should set up.. routines. To help you learn your way around a firearm, and to keep you efficient in gun-to-gun combat. Actual training and such. Right now, though.. I've got something to show you, outside of her." With that, Victoria had decided to leave the simulation. She had waited for Vance to leave as well, before leading him throughout the Dojo. From there.. they would enter a building, labeled "Armory". "I scrounged through here, looking for a way to get non-Dojo civilians to defend themselves. I think you'll enjoy this, though." As she flickered on the lights, Vance and Victoria would find themselves within a warehouse: filled to the brim with weapons, both melee blades and blunt tools to fully-fledged firearms.

  • The man would look around the armory in awe at all the weaponry, but his expression was one both of awe and confusion. He looked from his cybernetic arm, then to Victoria. "Okay, but what's in here that is any better than the gun from earlier? The M4 Carbine, or whatever." He wasn't really able to distinguish the difference between guns, in all honesty. "Or better than my fire...?" Seeing as they were in an enclosed room, if they were in combat then the man thought it more effective to start a huge fire, either choking his enemies on smoke or burning them alive as the room would heat up.

  • "I've thought about it. And I'll keep thinking.. though I think that you'd enjoy the general idea. At any rate, we should practice your melee. I.. suppose I'm trained with weapon-to-weapon combat, so I can help." From there, Victoria lead Vance to a wide variety of weapons, albeit simple ones. Every weapon imaginable, really. "We'll be staying away from energy weapons, from now. Even with your.. resistance to heat, I still think energy could burn through you."

The man nodded. He was alright with melee. He walked up to a weapons rack, pulling out a rather simple, lightweight saber; about three feet in length, with a blade of 36 inches. He twirled it in his hand, checking the balance of the curved sword, and finally decided on using that. The man turned back towards Victoria, looking at whatever weapon she'd chosen; probably similar to her power gladius, if anything.

  • Victoria had actually taken to using a longsword, albeit it was still a weapon that she succeeded with - the blade was easily twenty-eight inches long, the entire weapon with the hilt and all being thirty-five inches long. And obviously, she kept her armor off: training/dueling was actually fun, that way. From there, she would lead Vance to a better spot, where they could properly duel: outside, really. Beside the warehouse would be a seemingly rectangular-shaped area, devoid of weeds and anything that might get in the way. "A saber is unique. The weapon itself is intended for cleaving and such, though I'd think that you'd enjoy it more if you encased the blade in flame. You can do that, yes?"

  • The man nodded, lifted the saber in front of himself, and aimed the tip diagonally and upwards. It began to glow a bright, flaming green, the glow continuously intensifying until it suddenly exploded, emerald green flames spewing out around the blade. He twirled the blade once more, this time with sparks of green flame and a dark, nearly opaque smoke trailing behind it. Smoke rose from the saber upwards, and the man proceeding to hold the sword in front of himself with both hands, in preparation to begin sparring with Victoria.

  • From there, Victoria did the same, though in a different fashion to the amnesiac's ignition. She pressed her left palm against the base of her blade, where it met the guard. She slid the hand against the flat of the blade, the sword igniting with vibrant green flame. From there, Victoria spun the blade in her right hand, the fire fading away from the left hand as she began to approach Vance's position. She kept her left foot ahead, while her right foot would stay behind, her posture straight and almost looming. She would begin a simple swing towards Vance: a horizontal slash, though certainly not a slow one.

  • The man would angle his body very slightly to the left, turning his blade slightly so Victoria's longsword would strike the flat part of the saber's blade. From there, he did a small rotation so that instead of the tip point straight up, it was angled more towards Victoria. Next, the man stepped forward with his right foot–the one closer to Victoria–allowing him to move his sword forward in a thrust aimed at Victoria's torso. It was... effective swordsmanship, as the stance required very minimal movement yet still managed to block the attack and perhaps force Victoria back.

  • Victoria only managed to keep her ground because of a swift maneuver, in something of a reaction towards Vance's counter. Bringing both hands to her longsword's grip, she still had the advantage of moving it. As the saber's blade began to move, Victoria both brought down her sword and Vance's blade, down to her left and Vance's right, whereas she kept her sword angled in a position where Vance would have to pull out the sword (don't you dare make a joke) from the crossguard's block. Indeed, the saber blade was quite literally between Victoria's blade and the crossguard, or in that general location. Vance did succeed in hitting Victoria's leg, due the thrust that was previously aimed at her torso: now, the tip of his flaming blade was beside the left side of her leg, more specifically her thigh, missing the artery in the leg. Still, a trickle of blood began to seep through the cut, whilst a tensed yet pained expression crossed Victoria's face. If it was a legitimate fight, and if Victoria considered the individual to be a threat, she would have promptly brought her sword back to her opponent's waist and cut them open, abdomen to collarbone, in with a death grip upon her sword. But this was training with Vance - that would be monstrous to do. Instead, Victoria took to bringing her foot up and slamming it into Vance's stomach, in an attempt to both disorient him and get him to back off.

Instead of standing still and waiting for Victoria to follow up the block like some аutistic teacup, Vance would utilize his above-average agility to slide his right foot diagonally to the right, or Victoria's left. Then, his left foot would follow quickly, actually going behind his right foot. Due to the position of his legs, he was able to perform a spin, whose momentum would literally drag Vance's saber out of whatever mess of words it was in. This maneuver was performed immediately after Vance had seen that Victoria's blade was going to redirect his. Now to Victoria's left and facing the same direction as her, Victoria's kick had completely missed. Vance's right hand was on Victoria's back before her foot could touch the ground once more, and he performed a literal shove forward while she was still off balance. "If this were a real fight," Vance would've had his blade raised and at his opponent's throat as he performed that spin, not severing their head but causing great damage to their neck. But indeed, it was not a real fight, so fuсk off with the dick measuring -.-

  • Since it is diсk measuring, since you decide to ignore literally everything in my reply.. Victoria spun her body around before the push, to where her left arm wrapped around Vance's, twisting his in a brutal fashion whilst her blade shot up towards his head. The twist was painful to her, but it didn't matter. She placed the sword against his shoulder, staring at Vance before dropping it down. She wouldn't kill him. Y'know, cause it wasn't a real fight (^ν^)

  • The doors swung open to reveal a man, strolling into the room with his hands shoved into his pockets. Unlike Amne, his black hair was well-maintained, falling into neat bangs. His navy blue eyes had glasses placed over them, which one of the lenses had a small crack in them. On his form was a black jacket with purple accents and cargo pants. He seemed normal... too normal. Noticing Amne, Xavier turned to the man, saying a casual greeting. "Ah, hey. You planning to practice in VR as well?"
