Time is a thing we all keep in our heads and round our wrists....
There was a great clacking and clattering along the road to the Dojo as a house on wheels rolled up, puffing steam like a freight train out of its chimney. The house looked like a simple housekeepers shop and abode, with a sign that proudly displaced the title; "Arcenwald Chronometers, Clocks, and Hourglasses".
As the unusual sight rolled up to the gate, it stoppped, and out stepped a professional looking young woman with brown hair cut to the length of her cheekbones, green eyes that sparkled with intelligence, and a clock on a chain hanging round her neck. She was dressed in a white blouse, over which she wore a leather coat filled with pockets, and blue denim pants. She promptly walked up to the gate, and knocked three times in time with the striking of her clocks.

Until her other daughter sneezes causing an icy patch appear on the ground. Her two brothers giggle finding it amusing and serenity doesn't seem to fazed by as it's something she's seen before.

"I was wondering if you knew of any open plots of land, large enough to park a small shop on?"
-
"Yeah actaully i do i wondered if it big enough though."says serenity
-
"Could you show me it?"
-
"Yeah i can these guys will be following them."says serenity she starts walking towards the area where the plot she mentioned is. when they get there its clear that its been unused for quite sometime now. As very tall grass grew all over the place. It would clearly need some maintaince before anything could be put there.

No red.
The woman could hear the noises of what could only be guessed to be a skirmish on the other side. Beyond the gates and in a nearby courtyard were two figures, maneuvering about, dodging attacks and dealing their own. People had gathered to watch, as it was quite the spectacle. The fight went on for some time, until it was interrupted by the echoes from beyond the gates. An arrow whizzed through the air, only to be caught just inches from its target's face. The face belonging to Cylus, the arrow to Q. "Sounds like we've got company." Cylus said, twirling the arrow between his fingers. Tossing it back to his companion, he nodded and gestured for him to follow. The crowd groaned, letting them pass. It seemed that they'd have to wait until next time to settle their bets.
*I coulda had you.* Q chuckled. *You're just using this as an excuse.*
"Oh? Keep dreaming, bud." Cylus chuckled. Straightening his jacket and pulling his hood up as he walked, they approached the gates. "Anyways, remember what happened last time we left the "visitors" unattended?" he said, referring to a past event that had happened on similar circumstances. The woman on the other side had only been waiting a couple moments before the gates were slowly pulled open, and she was greeted by the two figures waiting on the other side. The eyes on Cylus' helmet narrowed and glowed a bit brighter, a sign that he was looking her over. Q did the same, except a bit less subtle.
*Looks like a merchant.* he said quite bluntly.
The right eye of Cylus' helmet widened, as if to raise a brow. It was evident that they behaved like normal eyes, imitating his facial expression. There they stood, the three figures and the traveling shop, waiting for one or the other to speak.
-
"Well, yes, I am. Specifically a rather good clockmaker."
-
Edited by BondyMilk: 8/26/2017 7:43:28 PM
*Why clocks?* Q asked.
Upon further inspection, it was easy to conclude that Q wasn't human. Rather, an artificial intelligence built by Cylus. Apparently he wasn't built with a filter.
-
"Everybody needs to keep track of time, plus it's not overly hard work."
-
"Ah, I personally own an armory." Cylus says. "I guess you can say everyone needs a weapon in this world." he adds.
*So you're meaning to tell me that you came all this way in a store on wheels?* Q butted in
-
"Yes." The store starts rolling back down the hill behind her
-
*Huh.* Q noted. *Your store is rolling away.*
-
"Oh!" She turns and sprints back into the store, it then stops, rolls back up, and rests on a flatter area. "Forgot the parking brake
-
"Yeah, that'd probably help." Cylus said. "So what brings you to the dojo? You want to find a place to settle down or are you just passing through?"
-
"Settle down and sell as long as people buy."
-
"Ah. I'm hoping none of your clocks are wired to explosives. We don't need that happening again." His tone sounded sarcastic, bluntly serious at the same time. The indigo eyes of his helmet bore into her, watching.
-
"No. That would be a waste of a perfectly good clock when a fuse would work just as well,"
-
"Tell that to the last guy that came around." Cylus sighed. Q seemed to be gazing at her cart. Very closely gazing.
*My scans don't show any explosives, just a bunch of clocks.*
"Very well. So Merchant, do you have a name?"
-
"Chrona Arcenwald, at your service."
-
"Chrona... Like Chronos?" An eye on Cylus' helmet raised.
-
"Yes. My mother had an education but no creativity."
-
*HA* Q exclaimed rather suddenly. It was an abrupt laugh, ending as soon as it started.
Ignoring that, Cylus extended a hand. "Well, Chrona, my name's Cylus. This here is my partner Q."
-
She shook it. "Pleasure to meet you
-
"Likewise." he nodded. "Come. Shall I show you around?"
