"Kiba was a lab rat of a radical sect of my worlds most common religion. He was being genetically modified to be able to use divine weapons of immense power. He could use modern replications, but the true Holy Swords would begin to consume his soul when he tried. The director of the project declared it a failure and ordered all the genetically modified children to be killed. Kiba was the only child to escape. All the others died."

"Damn. That must've been tough..."
-
I nod in agreement, pulling out my phone to call Kiba and ask for a favor. "I'll give him a call. Maybe he can help. I don't know what I could do to help after that. Maybe just talk it out with him. I'll be back after I make the call. If he can come, I'll let you know, then go pick him up." I say pointing to imply the question if I could step out momentarily to call him.
-
He nodded, not saying anything.
-
I return a few minutes later with good news, "Kiba agreed to help, I'll go pick him up. I'll be back."
-
"Thanks.@ He said, the memories seeming to have subsided for st least the moment."
-
I disappear through Ophis's insignia. About 15 minutes later, I return with Kiba, but either I jumped to the wrong location, or Leon is gone. "Oh shit. LEON?!?"
-
It took you a minute to realize, by it wasn't the same courtyard you had been in. You were close though.
-
"OH GOD DAMN IT!!! Kiba, keep up, we have to find him." We spread our wings and fly through the corridors, checking every courtyard until, we reach the final courtyard, 20 minutes later. "Sorry Leon, I teleported to the wrong room. I got Kiba."
-
Leon was removing his spear from a dummy, the wooden dummy seeming to have been stabbed a good number of times. "It's ok, I've managed."
-
"Ok, do you still want to talk to him?"
-
"Yeah, of course. Just hope I'm worth his time." He said, moving over to a bench and sitting down
-
Kiba goes over to Leon and takes a seat next him. "I'm here to help. I owe Jonathan so its the least I can do."
-
"Thanks. He told me you'd probably be better qualified. That you'd know mroe what I was going through."
-
"Jonathan thought it would be better for you to tell me. He thinks it would help face your past better. Go on, I'm listening."
-
Johnathan saw something click in Leon's eyes, as he began to spoke, describing the memory fragment that he had seen before. As he spoke his words dissolved into the wind, the scene replaying before them. Unravel to move. Unable to stop it. Just like Leon was.
-
Kiba began to comfort Leon and share his trauma as well. (I would be more descriptive but I am bad at this kind of dialogue so I'll just leave it as implied.)
-
The talked about that day, how hopeless Leon had felt in that situation. About how it wasnt his fault that he couldn't save them, and how he wasn't the one to blame for it all. About how his friend had accepted his death, and that Leon needed to accept it too. After a bit, Leon seemed noticing calmer, smiling a little bit.
-
I return to the courtyard after a trip to the restroom, and see Leon smiling. "Hey Leon, feeling better?"
-
"A bit, yeah. I'm still tired, and it hurts like hell to think about it, but it's better." He said, fumbling in his pockets for a second, before taking out a few things. The first was a photo, that's seemed to depict Leon in the gear seen before in the vision, helmet off and under his arm. He seemed a good bit younger than he did now, maybe 19 at most. "That was from the day I joined my squad. We were some of the best of the best spearmen and riders from any battalion. The Horseman's Heralds they called us"
-
"I'm glad, you seem to be more like your usual self."
-
"This is one of the better memories. We all had callsigns according to the four horsemen of the apocalypse, two for each one of us. I was assigned Conquest-2 as I was one of the fastest ones. It's stupid to most, but on the battlefield that's what we were to people. We were the apocalypse to the enemy."
-
"I wish I knew how that felt. I only got promoted to my rank after I killed a ghost of my past. Other than that, I never had to do anything for my positions as officer and commander, I was given those for my wielding Longinus. It must feel great to have that kind of rush, that feeling of achievement. I never really had a chance to experience that."
-
"It was nice." He said, sheikh another picture. It showed the 8 members of the squad, each having a name listed under them. "This was the squad. We were a tight bunch, knew almost everything about each other. They were more or less my family." He said.
feel free to ask about any. The names are written as so: War-1, Tyr War-2, Jekyll Conquest-1, Bones Conquest-2, Zettawatt Famine-1, Fizz Famine-2, Locust Death-1, Fenrir Death-2, Lancelot
-
"Death-2 Fenrir, tell me about him."
-
"Fenrir, he was a piece of work." He says. The man in the photo he pointed to was about 6'9", with dark skin and hair pitch black, covering most his face like fur. He seemed to have a permanently angry look to him. His bake was bigger than the others, the signature cow-plot grill on the front it, along with what seemed to be a wolf head painted on the side. The bike was a dark Crimson as well. "Probsbly the strongest of us all, he was vicious. We're all surprised he wasn't convicted for war crimes with what he did. Then again, I understand why he was, he watched his wife get tortured to death when they were captured. He used to be a nice guy, but he became closed off, angry and violent. He was a good guy though, deep down."
