After the crash I waited in the dark vacuum where I always go after I die while I wait for my ghost to resurrect me. It took longer than usual and I wondered if I would be here forever, then the light came nice and warm and I was pulled back into the land of the living.
I looked up and saw my ghost, Ched, hovering above me.
"What took so long," I asked him.
"Silas told me to resurrect you away from the ship so the hive couldn't find us," he responded the transmatted back into my armor mold. I looked around and and saw Silas sitting there completely unscathed.
"Welcome back, now come on we gotta move," he said with a hint of urgency in his voice.
"How did you survive the crash to be able to tell MY ghost where to revive me?" I asked with mild annoyance.
"My ghost was smart enough to transmat me out of there while you made your little suicide run," he said, "Now come on when the hive don't find are bodies they're going to assume we're alive, then it becomes a hunt for them." He said all of this with a surprising certainty and calmness in his voice. I got up and started to follow him through the rocky landscape.
A female voice, which I can only assume is Silas' ghost, came over the comms saying, "We're not to far from the cosmodrome, there's and old highway that should lead us into the wall." We walked along the barren landscape for a few more minutes before we heard the cry of knights and thrall, bloodthirsty cries.
"Looks like the hunt is on," said Silas with that same calmness in his voice. We walked for about ten minutes, with the occasional cry of a wizard or thrall, when we stopped at the entrance to a ravine with high walls and an outcropping along both walls running down the entire length of them. Silas walked in without and hesitation and I had no choice but to follow him in. There were a few devil banners here and there when something caught my eye on the ravines' outcropping. I was instantly engulfed in flames and holding my gun made of solar energy when I fired all three of my shots up at the three knights looking down on us. I realized my mistake after each shot was fired. As each shot hit their mark the knights were engulfed in the solar energy and started to swell up. If the gunshots didn't alert the hive hunting them then the explosions would.
After the three explosions ran out we heard the cry of the hive not to far away and we began to run. "You idiot!" Shouted Silas sounding very angry.
"I'm sorry," I replied weakly, "It was just instinct." We heard more cries and turned around to find hundreds of thrall barreling down towards us from the entrance of the ravine.
"I wish your instinct was on vacation today," he strained to yell as we kept running towards the waypoints on our HUDs. As we exited the ravine we took a right and saw our destination. We were on one end of the highway and a small piece of the bridge had been destroyed long ago leaving a middle island that separated us from the rest that led into the cosmodrome.
"Hold on tight," Silas said grabbing onto my arm. Then I felt a cold sensation, my vision blurred, and I was pulled somewhere. When I looked back I saw that we had blinked to the opposite edge of the bridge. We continued to run towards the wall when we saw it. There were three knights blocking our path, but it was the one in the middle that made my heart drop. It was the hive knight, Urzock the Hated. I was terrified before I realized that he wasn't looking at us. I followed his gaze and what I saw made my heart stop, it was a newly resurrected guardian. Just our luck, I thought.
"You take out the two knight but leave Urzock to me," Silas whispered to me. Before I could answer, he summoned a sword looking very reminiscent of a scimitar and charged forward. The two knights that charged back were thrown of to the sides by Silas' mind as he went straight for Urzock. As he did that I opened my hand and watched my own sword, looking like that of a Katana, form in my hands and ran towards the knight on my left. As I ran towards him it brought its sword trying to cut me in half. I sidestepped the spun around bringing my sword down on its neck relieving its head from its shoulders. I heard a cry and turned around just in time as the second knight brought its sword down in a similar way to the first.
I blocked it with the flat of my blade with one hand on the flat and the other on the hilt. It pushed down on my sword until I almost had to kneel, but then I let go of the flat of my blade and jumped out of the way as the knights' cleaver like sword hit the ground where I was once standing. Then I materialized a trip mine grenade into my hand and brought it up into the knights chin. I jumped back as the grenade went off reducing the knight to a pile of bones and dust.
I looked at Silas and found his one arm holding his sword and making stabbing motions faster than I could track. To my surprise Urzock held his sword in front of him with both hands trying to stop Silas from impaling him, he was on the defensive. But Silas wasn't trying to impale him, all of these strikes were meant to bring down the arc shielding that was around Urzock. As the shield went down Silas spun around and brought his sword down breaking the much larger sword with ease. He then, with both hands, brought his sword up and into the knights' chin and out the other side. Then Urzock dropped to the floor, dead.
I ran up to Silas' side and the new guardian came to us and was about to say something, when the cries of hive wizards brought our attention to the hive that had been hunting us. They had found a way across the bridge and were coming for us. And, as one, we turned and ran inside the cosmodrome wall.

Another good chapter. V makes a lot of mistakes lol Would've been nice to describe how V knew the Guardian was freshly revived. I'm betting he's a Titan
