The girl twirled her daggers around in her hands, eyes narrowing slightly at Victoria. "Vigilante it is. Go on, arrest me–that's what you do, right? Put me in cuffs and bring me to law enforcement?" It might've been Victoria's imagination, but there was a bit of contempt in the girl's voice. She looked away from Victoria and over to the frightened man who had paid her. He backed off, hands in the air, before sprinting away from the girl and Victoria, heading towards Solis Vitae, the living district. Likely to where his family was. The girl simply watched him go, whispering a prayer to her gods that he would make it home safely, before looking back at Victoria.

  • "Hey, the fact you're so willing makes me feel like there's more to this story. I don't just arrest everyone I see, you know. I'm not that rightious n'sh*t. I mean, I do some illegal sh*t myself." V chuckled. "So, you wanna tell me what's going on? Or are you eager for a fight?"

  • "While I like fights as much as the next person, I'm a little on the tired side to be fighting for shit like my freedom. ... this isn't exactly the best place to talk, though." She looked around at the pouring slum streets, where countless people could be eavesdropping on them.

  • "I just want to hear about why I shouldn't arrest you for cutting a man's head off and then selling it to someone in a back alley. Honestly, it looks really really bad." Victoria leaned on a wall, yawning.

  • The girl rolled her eyes, letting out a sigh. "I found the dude paying me on the ground with a stab wound in his abdomen, his spine only just missed. So I healed him, and waited for him to wake up. He begged me to kill the person who did it, said he'd pay me. I didn't want to do it, but money's tight. It always is, here in the slums. Anyways, I went to the address, he was on his phone. Saw what he was looking at - it was extremely illegal, to say the very least. And... well, here we are now."

  • "Extremely illegal? The hell was he looking at? Now I'm curious." V was more curious at this point than anything. She felt she had no reason to arrest the girl.

  • "Child pornography. The kid in the video had some similar features to the man that was stabbed–if I had to guess, it looked a lot like blackmail." She shrugged, twisting her snow white hair to get some of the water out of it.

  • "Hmm. Well, I don't see any reason to arrest you. If anything I guess you did the right thing...even if it was just for money." V shrugged. "I guess we won't be fighting today. Probably a good thing since an angel and a worshiper fighting is kinda ridiculous, isn't it?"

  • The girl looked away, gazing into the distance in thought. She shook her head in response. "I don't worship the gods. I acknowledge their existence, pray to them for power, but I know that they don't care about me." She sighed, looking at Victoria. "Or anybody, for that matter."

  • "Maybe yours don't. From what I gathered from this place there are a lot of so called gods and depending on which one you look at they either ignore everything or f*ck anyone they can get their hands on to make demi-gods. It's...strange." V shrugged again. "I'm guessing a god gave me these wings so, a god out there must care about me."

  • "You're a lucky one, then. The gods that call themselves so here are false, in my opinion. But anyways... I need to get out of this rain, before I–" She sneezed rather violently into her elbow. "–catch a cold. I'm assuming you've got a place?"

  • "W-Well...I don't own it, so no. I'm sorry, but I can't give you a place to stay, buuuut...." The rain stopped falling on the girl all of a sudden. "I can stop the rain from touching you!...At least it's something. I'm not perfect at this whole being good to people thing."

  • "No, I have a place. An abandoned 7-11, down the street." She pointed down the way she was walking before. "Was just wondering if you wanted to get under a roof, is all."

  • "Oh...well, thank you! I'd love to if you're willing to let me. Come on, you should probably get inside, dry off, and get in a blanket or something." V began to walk towards where she pointed.

  • Christina would hastily lead Victoria towards the abandoned 7-11 in question. It was a dilapidated place, with once-clean walls mossy and cracked, windows having been smashed in a bit. The single light inside it was dully flickering on and off. After arriving inside the 7-11, Christina would take the scarf around her neck off, squeezing water out of it. She would also reveal her face–it had an unnatural beauty to it. Pale skin going along with her snow white hair, with angular features, and small, perky nose and thin lips. "Anyways, this is my place," She said, her voice soft even after being unmuffled by the lack of a scarf. "Sorry about the lack of grandeur."

  • "Why be sorry? It's honestly better looking than some of the places I've crashed in." Victoria glanced around the abandoned building, walking around a bit before returning to Christina with a smile. "Hey, want me to help dry you and keep you warm? It's the least I can do after making you stand in the rain because of my ignorance."

  • "With your fancy magic? Sure, I guess," She replied as she sat herself down at the counter, rainwater dripping down onto the ground around her. She squeezed her skintight suit, getting some of the water out as she waited for Victoria to do whatever Victoria would do.

"Magic? Huh...I guess it is magic." Victoria used one of her large wings to fan Christina and dry her off. When she finished drying her after only a few flaps, V sat beside her. "You could also use my wing as a blanket. They're really warm."

  • "Sooo... you're basically suggesting to cuddle?" She smiled slightly, the corner of her mouth pulling up in good nature. "I wouldn't mind cuddling. Sure."

  • V blushed a little, but attempted to hide it with her long hair as she wrapped her wing around Christina and held her close. The wing easily kept in the heat of the two girls, warming them up in no time. "I-It's not cuddling."

  • "It IS cuddling!" Christina protested with a slight giggle, scooting herself an inch closer to Victoria's side and gently setting her head down against Victoria's shoulder. In close proximity, Christina's young age was apparent; she couldn't've been any older than 16. Her body was still shivering slightly from the cold, but the warmth was helping with that. She slowly tilted her head to looked at Victoria, inquisitiveness in her expression. "Say, I never got your name," She said a little tiredly. "Mine's Christina. Most call me Chris or Tina."

  • Victoria's face turned even brighter red from Christina resting her head on her shoulder and her heart felt like it was going to pound out of her chest, but she somehow managed to keep herself together without showing any sign of stress in her voice. She turned her blushing face to Chris and grinned. "Call me V. My full name is Victoria, but it's too long for my taste."

  • "Victoria? I like that name. But I'll call you V." She smiled to herself, gently shutting her eyes. As she did so, her head being against Victoria's neck and shoulder would feel her pounding heartbeat. "... what's up with that?" She asked, referring to said heartbeat.

  • "What's what? I think you should just get some sleep. You look really tired and I'll make sure to keep you safe during the night. I can go extended periods without sleep." Victoria knew exactly what Chris was referring to, but she didn't feel like having to explain that cuddling this close with such a pretty girl makes her freak out because she has no experience with this sort of thing.

  • "I'm not THAT tired," Christina would respond, opening her eyes and looking up at Victoria once more. Her body had stopped shivering, having warmed up sufficiently, but Christina made no move to slide away. "I'd rather stay awake and talk to you." She smiled kindly at Victoria, before looking out the 7-11's window and the pouring rain.

  • Victoria smiled widely at that, thinking back on how much she was normally ignored. To have someone that genuinely wanted to hold a conversation with her was relatively new. "Thanks, Chris. I'd like to talk some more too....Are you still not warm?" V now folded her second wing around Christina, the heavenly soft feathers feeling like the comfiest material to ever grace Chris' skin.
