Victoria sat up at the mention of money, but instantly laid back at the joke of her virginity as she tried to hide her reddening face with her long hair.
"Ha...yeah."

Kyra was already focused on something else entirely, opening a laptop on a nearby coffee table and opening up to some sort of program similar to a news channel, but private. She seemed to be checking something, before closing the laptop. "Anyways. So, do people normally have wings in... 'New York', or whatever?"
-
"Nope. I got these three days ago out of no where. Most people are normal with just two legs and two arms. They can't control air like I can either." She responded, gazing at her now folded wings.
-
"Control air?" Kyra raised an eyebrow at Victoria. "So could you deprive a person entirely of oxygen without even touching them...?"
-
"Woah! I never thought of that! It would take a lot of concentration and they'd have to be in my line of sight, but I probably could." V replied with enthusiasm and excitement.
-
Kyra looked as though she was about to say something, then decided that she'd just keep her gauntlet close to her for if she ever felt a lack of oxygen. "Wonderful," She murmured to herself. "Anyhow. Does the air manipulation come with the wings, or is it separate?"
-
"I dunno. Got them at the same time so, I guess. I doubt I'd use that for anything other than stunning. I wouldn't suffocate someone."
-
"Long as you're not suffocating me," Kyra replied with a laugh. She opened the refrigerator once more, searching through it. "Anything to eat? Free of charge, I swear."
-
"Mmmm...food. Whatcha got?!" V enthusiastically sat up and looked over with a wide smile. "Something good, I hope! Oooh! Tacos? Got any tacos? Love 'em."
-
"Microwaveable tacos, sure." Kyra rolled her eyes, pulling out a bag of literal microwaveable tacos. "I suck at cooking, but I like to think that I'm skilled with using the microwave." She put some tacos on a plate, heating it up for a few minutes in the microwave, before pulling it out and setting the plate down in front of Victoria.
-
"Works for me! Thanks!" Victoria quickly began to eat the tacos, finishing them in a minute or two. When she finished she sat back and sighed, holding her stomach with one hand. "When you haven't eaten in days, microwave food is like a five star restaurant."
-
"Lemme guess; fighting demons for the past few days, too busy to eat?" She asked, only half sarcastically as she pulled a cold sandwich from the refrigerator, eating it slowly. Mainly since she didn't have much food.
-
"Nope. I was only fighting those guys for a few hours. My uncle just forgets to feed me a lot of the time. Sometimes I can't afford my own food because I need to pay the rent, y'know?" V shrugged. "It's what ever."
-
Kyra shrugged. "Shoulda stolen his food. What I would've done. Anyways, you're welcome to stay here–free of charge–for as long as you'd like. Unless you've already got somebody offering lodging?" She asked, finishing the sandwich off.
-
"I wouldn't steal from him....Also, thanks. I don't know if I could ask that much from you though. You've already given me so much. A place to stay? Are you sure? I don't have any money to pay." Victoria was obviously not someone that liked being given too much charity.
-
"Hey, not like I spend much time in here anyways. Today's one of the few days where I'm actually here. Essentially, it's a free home, and on occasion you might have to put up with my presence. ... really. I'll even let you sleep on the bed–I'd imagine the couch is uncomfortable, considering the wings. And again, not like I use this place. It's wasted on me."
-
"Well, I owe you. There has to be something I can do for you to make up for sleeping here and eating your food and everything. Please. Give me something." V gave Kyra pleading eyes. "I can't accept this unless I feel like I earned it."
-
"Oooh, I understand that." Kyra sighed, mainly because it was true. She did understand the need to earn something instead of simply taking it. She gazed at Victoria, her less serious, humorous side wanting to say something dirty, while her serious side struggled to think of something Victoria would be able to do. "Well, what are you proficient at?" She asked; she couldn't exactly give Victoria a task without knowing her skills.
-
"Cooking, cleaning, flying, decent at fighting, really fast, and umm...a tech nerd and uhh I'm hardworking?" Victoria didn't seem very sure of what to say and shrugged. "I'm not that great at too many things. Sorry."
-
Kyra sighed in relief. At least she knew that she could give Victoria some stuff to do–now it was time for the jokes. "What about...." Kyra raised her eyebrows in a 'you know what I mean' fashion, before laughing and shaking her head. "Anyways. I've never eaten a decently cooked meal in my life, and I supposed that while you're living here, you can so all the errand running and chores for me. Lotta the food I put in the fridge gets expired long before my next grocery trip, so... yeah. Essentially, you'll be my caretaker. Sound cool?" Kyra grinned jokingly.
-
Victoria blushed at the joke and then began to think about whether or not to agree to be a 'caretaker'. "Sure. Sounds fair. I don't have to wear a maid outfit or anything, right?"
-
"No, of course not," She replied, standing up from her seat on the chair. It had only been maybe ten minutes, and Kyra was already restless, itching to do something.
-
V looked up at Kyra as she stood from her seat. "Good. I don't think I'd enjoy wearing some revealing uniform." She stretched her arms and yawned. "Are you getting up to do something? Do you need help?"
-
"I'm just restless," Kyra replied with a sigh. "Don't usually sit around a chat, see. I spend a lot of my time roaming around and dueling whoever I can find that uses a sword." She shrugged–it was evident that she liked swordplay quite a bit. "Was actually thinking of moving to Lumen Solis, just so I could get some more action, but money's tight."
-
"I'm sorry I don't use a sword, but maybe you could teach me? Well, later anyway. I've been up for over 24 hours and should get some sleep, so I think I'll crash on this comfy couch, you got." Victoria fell back down on the couch and stretched out on it. "Mmm...feels good."
-
"... yeah, I suppose I could teach you what I know," Kyra agreed after a moment of thought. "But get some sleep now. I'll be out again." She kept her casual wear on while equipping her gauntlet and sword once more, opening the window before turning to face Victoria one last time.
