Kyra turned to see nothing, but trees. Nothing showed any sign of movement however. It seemed liked the girl's voice must've been coming from the breeze, keeping her real location unknown. "The Doctor. Time stuff." The teen's tone made it obvious she was joking with her answer. "Now, how about you put what I'm guessing is some weird, magical gauntlet down so I don't have to fight you in self-defense."

  • A low, soft groan would come from Kyra as she saw that the girl had hidden herself. Kyra knew that she had come far too late. Her eyes darted around the the screen on the back her visor, reading something–multiple things–on the screen. After a moment of thinking, Kyra sighed. She slowly lowered her gauntlet, bringing her left arm down to her side while her right left the grip of her still-sheathed scimitar. Of course, even though the girl would have the element of surprise, Kyra had only set her gauntlet down due to her confidence that she would be able to react to any attacks with both her innate ability and her tech stuffs. She would raise her right hand to the corresponding side of her helmet, hitting a button hidden by her hood. The thermal vision setting would activate, allowing Kyra to look beyond the smoke and search for the girl by looking for her body heat within the smoke. "Come on out, you've got the upper hand," Kyra called out. She was acting as though she had not activated thermal vision and could not find the girl's body heat.

  • Kyra heard a thump a few feet behind her before also hearing the girl behind her as well. "I just wanted to see if you'd be willing to put the weapon down. I'm not here to hurt you. I don't think you're here to hurt me either."

  • It would be difficult to remain behind Kyra for too long as she wasn't staying still, rather she was constantly turning and examining different areas. So by the time the girl had begun speaking, Kyra was already facing her, her thermal vision making her shape out through the smoke. "That would strictly depend," Kyra replied. "On if you're a Defector or not." The woman would slowly approach the girl, her right hand rising to deactivate the thermal vision so she would be able to get a good look at her. "However, you don't seem like one...." A soft beeping came from within her helmet. Her eyes focused on the screen within, reading a recent update or something of the sort. "Okay. It doesn't seem as though you're a Defector." By now, Kyra would've already been on her way, but... well, a person had just fallen out of the sky. "Do you know what that was about?" She asked, gesturing at the general area where the portal had appeared.

With a clear view, Kyra could now see that the girl had on dirty skinny jeans, once white sneakers, a small black top that showed off her midriff, and finger-less gloves on her hands. The teen's body was slim, but athletic with an angelic, and beautiful face to go along. She also had two large wings on her back, one with a burn mark and the other a small gash. "I don't know what the f*ck you're talking about with defectors n'sh*t, but that portal was made by demons or something. I dunno exactly what they were, but they looked like demons. I was fighting them before being thrown through their portal."

  • Kyra didn't have many freedoms in life, and so she was defiant to her superiors every moment she could be; this moment was one of them, as she purposely made her first thought to be 'hey, she's kinda cute!' Which wouldn't have made her superiors happy. "... demons, huh?" Kyra raised an eyebrow. The girl's age couldn't have been too different from her own, but... demons? Kyra smiled behind her helmet, skeptical. "Well, ah, if the nightmares are making it difficult to sleep, you could always get some sleeping pills or something." It was evident that Kyra didn't believe the girl, mainly because Kyra was an agnostic individual; she didn't believe in any supernatural thing, and she considered 'demons' to be a rather supernatural thing. "Anyways, what's your name?" Kyra asked, wondering why she was inquiring of it in the first place. Chances were that Kyra wouldn't see much of the girl after this encounter, but... she couldn't exactly be certain.

The teenager rolled her eyes when Kyra made it obvious she didn't believe her. "Yeah yeah, I'm simply describing them as demons. I used to think organized religion was bullsh*t too, but with the wings and powers and demons showing up in New York in the past few days....I have no f*cking idea what's real anymore....The name's Victoria, but just call me V."

  • "V." Kyra nodded, taking mental note of Victoria's... interesting story. In truth, it sounded like something straight out of an adolescent's novel to her, but Kyra would make no comment. Instead, she pulled her hood off her head, revealing short, brown hair–cut to appear boyishly shaggy. The helmet only covered half her head, so it was more a mask than a helmet. She proceeded to remove that from her head as well, stowing it at her side as she breathed deeply, finally tasting fresh air. Kyra's face fit well with her short haircut, with sharp cheekbones, a fair skin tone, thin lips and a small, perky nose. The only strange thing about it were the artificial looking, electric blue pupils on her face. Their color was so bright and almost fake looking that her pupils almost seemed to glow. With the mask/helmet off, her right hand would gently rub her eyes, savoring the relief of finally taking the mask off.

  • "Y-Yeah..." V caught herself staring when Kyra removed the mask and looked down at the ground in embarrassment, clearing her throat before speaking again. "So, what's your name? I told you mine so I should know yours, right?"

  • Kyra's expression became rather bemused, raising an eyebrow at Victoria. "... I've already told you, ma'am. The name given to me was Kyra." It was true that she had already given her name to Victoria, thus explaining the bemused expression when the asked for it again. "Although if you must, you can call me END as well. Still unsure if I like that name, though." It was clearly some sort of alias, perhaps an acronym.

  • V's face reddened as a sign of her being even more embarrassed at having forgotten the women's name, her wings also rustling a little. "O-Oh sorry. I umm...forgot. I'm a dunce at times, y'know? Umm....I think I like Kyra more than END personally, but go with what you like, I guess."

  • The corner of Kyra's mouth would pull up slightly in a smile, unsure whether to be amused or confused by Victoria's flustered demeanor. "It's quite alright; I supposed I am forgettable." It was a lame attempt to comfort Victoria. "Unlike you, I'm sure. Anyhow, Kyra is fine. The only people that call me END are...." She hesitated then. "Well, not many."

  • "Bah! I doubt you're forgettable. I'm just slow." Victoria smiled at Kyra and gave a light chuckle. "And thanks for saying I'm not forgettable. Maybe you should tell my Uncle that sometime. He might start remembering to feed me."

  • "Your uncle musn't be very smart, for with a face like that... I doubt many intelligent people would forget you." She said, mostly jokingly. Kyra smiled, then laughed, knowing how stupid she must've sounded. "Either way... more people might come investigating soon. Good or bad. Perhaps you'd like to find somewhere more quite, treat your wounds you've got?"

  • "A face like what? You flirting or something?" Victoria laughed and shook her head. "I'm just kidding. Anyway, my wings will heal over time and rather quickly actually, but that's still not a bad idea. Do you have any ideas where I could go?"

  • "Ehh...." Kyra would look up, rubbing her head. She looked over to the looming mountain on the outskirts of Dojoville, gesturing at it. "I've heard that that place is good for fighters. Nobody'll question a person falling out of a sky through a portal as long as you're affiliated with them. Alternatively, if heading to the Dojo seems uncomfortable, my place should be a nice place to recover or whatever. You'd just have to be careful not to disturb the neighbors. Up to you, really."

  • Victoria looked over at the Dojo then back at Kyra. "I have a feeling I wouldn't like being around a ton of fighters right about now. I kinda just wanna rest, y'know? Would you mind if I came over to your place?"

  • "'Course not. Here, this way." Kyra sighed as she put her mask back on her head, the visor lighting up as she did so. She pulled her hood over her head, before dashing off. She had a feeling that Victoria would be able to keep up, with those wings of hers, and so she didn't make any attempt to slow herself down as she bounced off alleyway walls to the roofs of Dojoville, breaking into a sprint and continuing to traverse the town with great agility and speed, before arriving at her apartment. She stopped at the front door, hesitant to bring in a teen with wings into the apartment, and so she quickly and quietly climbed up the side of the building, opening the window from the outside and crawling in, before finally turning to make sure Victoria hadn't been kidnapped or lost or something.

  • Victoria was right behind her...albeit a little tired and breathing a bit heavily from the exertion. "D-Did you have to sprint? I've been running and fighting all day already. I think my enhanced stamina can only go so far..."

  • "Oh. Should I have carried you?" Kyra jokingly replied, shutting the window behind Victoria. "Anyhow, I guess you can rest on that couch. And if I see a single feather anywhere...." She tore off her mask and hood, raising an eyebrow at Victoria. "You'd better be ready." She grinned with good nature, opening a door that led to a rather small bedroom and a small closet. "Need a change of clothes?" She called out, poking her head out of the bedroom.

  • "I don't like being carried....Thanks for the offer of clothes, but I wouldn't want to take too much from you. I feel like you've already helped me a lot." V sat herself down on the couch and stretched, her top riding up and showing more skin.

  • Kyra would raise an eyebrow before turning away respectively, entering her small closet and throwing off her armor, changing into more casual attire. She emerged wearing a white tank top and black sweatpants, her feet bare and her hair slightly rustled. She would sit down on a chair near the couch, sighing. "Anything to drink?" She asked. "Obviously no alcohol. We're both minors, I'm guessing." As she spoke, she would reach out to grab a Pepsi™ from a refrigerator within arm's reach.

  • "Pfft...Never stopped my friends from drinking....Any generic soda you have will do just fine, thanks." V kicked her shoes off and laid out more on the couch, resting her feet on one arm of it and her head on the other. "Thanks for all of this."

  • "Here, catch." Kyra would grab another Pepsi™ from the fridge, tossing it to Victoria. She leaned back in her chair, taking a sip from her can and sighing slightly; nothing like taking off armor and drinking a soda in the comfort of your own home. "You're gonna have to pay me, y'know," She replied to Victoria's saying thanks. "I want 15,000 credits, a sidearm and your virgi–kidding, kidding." She grinned, taking another sip and staring upwards at her ceiling.

  • Victoria sat up at the mention of money, but instantly laid back at the joke of her virginity as she tried to hide her reddening face with her long hair. "Ha...yeah."

  • Kyra was already focused on something else entirely, opening a laptop on a nearby coffee table and opening up to some sort of program similar to a news channel, but private. She seemed to be checking something, before closing the laptop. "Anyways. So, do people normally have wings in... 'New York', or whatever?"
