One of the chains hooked his ankle, and it yanked him down into the ground.
He hit hard enough to put an indentation in the dirt.

He groaned as he fell. A voice of a frienemy in the back of his head bothered him, That's karma. You shouldn't literally or metaphorically backstab your friends. "Shut up, Sarah," he muttered.
-
The creature towered over him, growling. "You are weak, Little light. You cannot defeatus." It ssid in a deep gravelly voice as it raised it's blade for a finishing blow.
-
"No... I've just been playing nice...." James said, blocking the blow. He rolled away from the creature. "Delphi! Laser Beam!" He called out. The Zen Meteor appeared in his hands. He held the barrel in his right hand. Delphi generated three holographic goblins. James scored three precision kills on the holograms. The barrel of the Zen Meteor lit up as it's exotic perk activated. A fourth bullet, a laser beam formed in the barrel. James shot it at the creature.
-
The creature brought it's blades up in an "X" shape to block the blow, stumbling back.
-
He shot again, except his bullets weren't laser beams. He fired at the creature, and after shooting the third round, he reloaded.
-
It blocked two, the third grazing it's shoulder and causing a splatter of oily black blood. "I will suck the marrow from your bones!" It roared, charging him.
-
He shot it again, and again. Reloading the magazine after every 3rd shot. After going through three mags, he jumped back, his sword in his left hand, his shield of Void Light in his right.
-
The creature blocked most of the shots, and It's wounds appeared to only make it more angry as it charged him, whipping it's blades around.
-
James moved his shield to his wrist. He grabbed the chain of one of the blades.
-
The other blade swung at his stomach as the beast attempted to pull him forward.
-
He blocked with his sword, using it one-handed.
-
The blow was enough to knock him back despite his strength. Whatever this was, it was strong and wielded the darkness on a level beyond anything he'd seen.
-
Despite being knocked down, he returned to his feet. Delphi appeared, "This individual seems to have a mastery of practices of Darkness. If you die, I won't be able to revive you." "If he's so dark, let's light him up," James replied, "So let's light him up." His shield disappeared, and so did his Raze-Lighter as Delphi transmatted them away. In his left hand was a flaming Hammer of Sol. A Fusion grenade forming in his right. He chucked the fusion grenade at the being.
-
The grenade went off, making it stumble back and roar in pain. His light infuriated it, working it into a rampage. Bringing both blades into it's hands, the montser charged him.
-
He threw the Hammer at the creature. It hit, the might of Solar Light roaring against the creature. He brought back his hand, another Hammer forming in his left hand. He threw it at the creature. He did this repeatedly for a minute.
-
Each hammer knocked it back further until it finally collapsed onto it's knees with the last hammer.
-
Delphi appeared at the Titan's shoulder. "James, you're going to wear out your light. You should change tactics," he advised. James nodded, "Delphi, laser beam." The Zen Meteor was in his hands again. He shot at the creature.
-
It shielded itself with the swords, roaring. "Die!" It charged at him.
-
"Damnit!" James yelled. Delphi disappeared, taking the Zen Meteor and leaving him with his Raze-Lighter. The Titan blocked the creature's attacks.
-
It hardly helped. This thing smashed into him like a charging rhino, enraged with pain and hatred. It hit so hard his feet dug into the ground and he was pushed back, leaving two snall trenches as his feet dragged through the dirt.
-
The Titan tried to at least stay still, but it was hopeless. "Delphi!" James yelled. The Ghost transmatted James to behind the creature, and he stabbed it again, and used Phoenix Uppercut while the sword was still in it.
-
It roared in pain and fell to it's knees, oily black blood gushing from it's wounds.
-
He pulled the Raze-Lighter out of the creature, it covered in the oily blood. James attempted to cut off the creature's head.
-
The head came off with little difficulty.
