He knew that the gap between him and the enemy would be enough to keep him alive for at least one cheeky attack, and so he just watched in silence, analyzing him. He analyzed the stance of his opponent, the way he acted and with what confidence he spoke. It painted him as brash, bold and cocky in the face of danger, which meant recklessness could follow in the form of a rushing attack with the spear. So JT stayed just a few steps out of the spearhead's lunging range, hand patiently waiting for the attack to come.
