I'm kind of surprised that no one has linked to logical increments or choose my pc yet. I generally tend to tweak builds from choose my pc, but it's great as a starting point. I often recommend that people shoot for about $800 to $1000 as their price range. You can find builds that run at around $400 that provide an ok expirience— it's great for people who basically just play counter strike and league of legends, which is a fairly big demographic. The big downside is that cheap builds have a tendancy to lose their luster quickly for gamers that plan on buying lots of newer AAA titles, if only because developers seem to be terrible about optimizing games on pc. $800 tends to be when a machine will probably continue to run pretty much everything you throw at it really well for several years with minimal upgrades. I have no doubts that it will run destiny 2 on 1080p at well above 60 fps, and it will probably run on native 4k with at least 30 fps (though it'll likely go higher). Anything above $1200 is getting into "obnoxiously cutting edge" territory. One piece of advice: absolutely under no circumstance should you ever cheap out on the psu. Saving few dollars is not worth the risk of your computer getting fried.
