Cylus came to the console to connect Q's mainframe, and with a final push of the button, Q became active.
*HELLO?!* Q shouted as he reawoke.
The group looked up at the rift, awaiting what was going to happen
-
Edited by BondyMilk: 7/13/2017 9:30:08 PMThe rift suddenly began glowing with bright white light, contrasted even against the falling snow. Before long, it began to take on a bluish hue before turning into a swirling blue portal. Cylus retracted his helmet and smiled to the group. "He's here..." he said excitedly. Suddenly, the group felt as if the portal was pulling then towards it. The snow began falling in its direction, and the sound of crackling energy could be heard. Lightning to be precise.
-
"What the hell..." Marker said, rising to his feet as he stared at the portal
-
Edited by BondyMilk: 7/13/2017 10:02:58 PMA burst of wind nearly knocked them off of their feet. The portal suddenly stopped swirling and once again became dormant, but leading out of it was a trail of melted snow. Cylus turned and looked past Marker, clapping in slow applause. "That was quite the entrance, old friend." he says A figure stood behind the group, his arms crossed and grin stretched across his face. Bits of lighting still crackled around his body, but he didn't seem to take notice. "You called?"
-
Marker and Carly rose to their feet, Vaughn laughing as he stood tall, not having budged. "You're... You're the Flash..." Carly said, extending a hand "I'm so honoured to meet you."
-
Edited by BondyMilk: 7/13/2017 10:10:04 PM"It would appear so. Nice to meet you." Barry chuckles, before looking back at Cylus. "Glad to see you've made friends." he says. "Yes, of course, where are my manners? This is Carly, Marker, Vaughn, and you already know Q." Cylus says, introducing everyone.
*Nice to see you Ba- Flash.* Q nods.
-
"Nice meeting ya, youngster." Vaughn said, merely nodding his head towards Flash. "Yeah, real nice to finally meet a legitimate superhero." Marker laughed, glancing at Cylus
-
"Agh! Hey!" Cylus says defensively. "Well, it's nice to meet people of this universe. But I have to ask... How do you know who I am?" Barry asks with a laugh.
-
"You're a comic book! Which is basically a few images on paper in small book depicting super hero's!" Carly said, growing excited as she spoke
-
"Back on our Earth, we had comic books too. But if you guys had them of me, then there shouldn't be a need for this." Barry says, removing his mask. "Barry Allen, pleased to meet ya." he says. "How about we head back to the base so we can talk in there? Now that we're all introduced, we can get out of this snow." Cylus says.
*Sounds good to me.* Q says.
-
"BUT IT'S STILL SO COOL TO MEET YOU, MISTER ALLEN." "All right, can you come down, Carly. You're blowing this out of proportion." Marker said desperately, trying to calm her down. "Sorry, sorry, sorry." Carly said, as the group started back towards the base
-
Cylus catches up to Barry as they walk towards the Alliance Base. "Seems like you've got yourself a fan." Cylus chuckles. "But on a more serious note, I need your help one last time. We can talk once we get to the base."
-
"We need to know how you manage the whole dimension jumping thing." Marker said, looking over at Flash
-
"I'd be happy to help. Any friend of Cylus' is a friend of mine." he responds. "We'll have a sit-down then. Talk it over." Cylus says happily.
-
After a few minutes, the group approached the Alliance Base in the Ko Rudo mountains, with Marker leading them to a meeting room. He took a seat, with Carly and Vaughn sitting down as well
-
Barry sat down beside Cylus, with Q then sitting besides him. Flash looks at the Multi-Helmet and other device, then back to Carly. "I'm assuming you guys have a basic understanding of this, otherwise you couldn't have contacted me. So what would you like to know?" he asks
-
"How exactly do you manage to get through to a separate dimension?" Carly asked, glancing at Flashy
-
Edited by BondyMilk: 7/13/2017 11:39:49 PM"To put it quite simply, I run. But if you'd like more detail than that..." "Of course we would." Cylus chuckles. "Well, you see, everything that has ever existed has a frequency. Planets, humans, even the void of space. Back when I learned of the multiverse and the infinite Earths, I learned that there is much more to it than that. When I learned to run between Earths, I learned that there is a dimensional barrier than can be broken with the right energy output and frequency. In order to break that barrier, I had to run fast enough and maintain the speed long enough to precisely match the frequency of the Earth I wished to travel to. With universal running, it was quite different." Barry says. "Imagine you have... Say a jar full of grapes. The skin of the grapes represent the dimensional barrier, while the grape itself is the dimension. Then say the jar represents that universe, and next to that jar is another jar, and another, until you find out that you have an infinite supply of jars."
*That's a lot of jars and grapes.* Q comments
"Exactly. Now image that I'm a needle. The needle easily breaks through the skin of the grapes, little effort needed. As for the jar, it needs a little more help. You go to the lid of the jar and what do you know, there seem to be little holes scattered about. These holes are represented by these "rifts," just like the one I came through just minutes ago." Barry continues
-
"So speed and frequency is what we need?" Carly asked, looking down
-
Edited by BondyMilk: 7/13/2017 11:48:20 PM"Not necessarily speed. I use my speed as an energy output, because the more I run the more kinetic and electric energy I produce. If you have another source powerful enough, hypothetically, you could do the same." "The arc reactor!" Cylus exclaims excitedly. "You have an arc reactor? That could definitely work..." Barry comments. "But as I was saying, the needle has to be able to push itself through the holes of the lid, which would require some certain force. But may I warn you, once you're out of the universe, you only have a limited amount of time to get into another or else you're lost forever. That's why you have to know the precise frequency of your destination, or as the analogy would put it, location of your jar."
-
"So our theories were correct, Vaughn!" "Aye lassie, we were spot on.."
Literally I called it, lol.
-
pretty much
"There's only one problem..." Cylus says aloud. "Besides the universes that we came from and already know, how would we go anywhere else without aimlessly jumping?" he asks
-
"Finding the right frequency. For example, using Noble-6's emergency channel frequency, we could use the frequency to trace the origin point of it, and discover the universe itself."
-
"That could work." Barry says. "Then by harnessing the rift's energy you could input the frequencies sort of like a GPS. Then it will take you right there."
-
"Time to get the project started. We'll be in touch." Carly and Vaughn rose from the table, preparing to leave the room "Nice meeting you, Flash." Carly said, with Vaughn giving a simple nod
