Why I can't trust the ocean.

Hello, Back in the the early 2000s me and my family went to Myrtle Beach. It was June or July I think, and I wasn't even 10 years old at the time. We got a motel right beside the beach, which was extremely convenient. And we just went to the beach everyday for a week. Everything was fine, if not perfect. My older sister just got a tan. And I was in the ocean, or in the Lazy River underneath the hotel relaxing. Until one day... The most cliche thing happened to me. I went in the ocean, pretty far to be honest. And my family looked liked ants. I'm pretty positive that was a very ridiculous thing to do. But anyway, I was way out in the ocean away from anyone. And I already don't like the ocean because you can't see under you. Freaks me out. Then out of nowhere... a fin pops-up. *Gulp* I didn't necessarily panic at the time. I thought it would just go away. I wasn't bleeding or anything. But uh, it didn't. I knew it wasn't a dolphin. Their fins are obviously different from a shark. I instantly regretted going that far. Thankfully, I knew not to panic. So I started swimming back. Not looking behind me. I was just about there until... it was right behind me. Now being a kid I started yelling loudly. It was way to close. *Smacking the water* It rubbed up against my leg. I cringed so hard. Then it went away. Possibly because I was close to shore. I ran up to my mom crying like a toddler. I felt embarrassed. I told her what happened and she obviously thought it was my "imagination." So frustrated I stomped off in the opposite direction. I still was positive it wasn't a dolphin. Or maybe someone playing a trick on me. But I'll never go that far in the ocean again. - If you guys have some uncomfortable beach stories please share them.

So you had a close encounter with a shark eh? Try living in Florida. For those who didn't know, the state of Florida in the U.S. is considered to be the number one place in the entire world for shark activity. Shark attacks are very frequent here and the sharks are so plentiful that you are at least 50ft or less away from a shark in the water. To add the bonus points, we have the three most dangerous sharks on the planet: the bull shark, the tiger shark, and the great white shark. I live on the gulf side of Florida and just a couple years ago, a local fisherman caught a great white from shore. Here is a pic of the guy: http://media.graytvinc.com/images/GREAT+WHITE+SHARK+CAUGHT.jpg And just a few days ago, someone caught this behemoth: http://a57.foxnews.com/media2.foxnews.com/BrightCove/694940094001/2017/07/03/876/493/694940094001_5491290989001_5491288131001-vs.jpg?ve=1&tl=1
