Transgressions of the Past. Chapter 3 Dojoville Cylus' Armory 22:38 hours 2 hours after the events of A Test of Strength Cylus sat in his room in the back of his armory, relaxing from his day of training with Marker. Fiddling with a screwdriver, he sat and looked pleased with his newest project. He had finished his new helmet and a skeleton to fit under his suit, and he would be unveiling them to the others tomorrow. He hadn't made an entry in a while, so he decided now would be a good time. ... From the pages of Cylus' Log Taking Place Immediately after Entry 2 Dates and Locations have been changed for Discretion. So I stood there. I held Rachel's body close, a single tear running down my cheek. I buried my face in her shoulder to muffle my cries. And I just stood there. ... Then I heard the sirens. The police were on their way, and I had to move fast. So much to do, so little time. I scooped Rachel up in my arms and made a break for it, running until it would be safe. ... Eventually we made it to the safehouse, and I laid her out onto the counter. Unlike me, she still had family, and I had to honor that. I removed my suit and washed myself off, leaving no trace of who I really was. Carrying Rachel once again, I laid her in the backseat of my car and covered her with a silk sheet before getting behind the wheel. I drove to her parents' house where we often has dinner in our... Simpler times. I wiped my eyes but it was no use, they were red and irritated from the sobbing. I opened the door and gently carried Rachel to the porch before ringing the doorbell. ... "Who could it be at this hour? Honey, go answer the door." I heard her mother say. Soon enough, the porch light turned on and Rachel's father answered. "Ah, ________, what do you have there son?" he asked. He looked at my eyes and noticed that I had been crying, then looked at the body in my arms, and immediately gasped. "Honey! Come here! It's ________!" he called. "Come in. Come in!" he told me. I simply nodded and followed him into the den. I couldn't say anything. How could I? How would I tell this family that their only daughter was dead? Laying Rachel on the couch, I stood next to her father and waited for the mother to enter. She was there soon enough, and when she saw the body on the couch, she immediately broke down in tears. "My baby!" She screamed. "How did this happen!?" Her husband clutched her in comfort, and they both looked at me for answers. "The- she- uh-..." I pulled myself together. "The man in the mask, the one a lot of people have been calling Vigilante, found me. He was in front of my apartment when I came home from work... He said he had something to show me." I lied. "He said she had died fighting, protecting innocents. As for the people who did this... believe me when I say this." "He will find them."
not an open, just a setup for the next chapters
