Multiple (Limited) Graphic Settings For Console

We're all pissed about the 30fps for consoles, but I just have one question: I know that including pc graphics options on consoles is impossible as users wouldn't know how to optimize and would most likely crash/burnout their console or drop their framerate to 3fps. But would it be possible for Bungie to include 2 preset graphic options on all console versions? These are my ideas for them: 1) Standard 1080p console graphics at a solid 30fps 2) Graphics and resolution downgrade at whatever cost to get the game to run at 60fps The negative of this of course is that the game might look far worse, but the positive being you still have that gameplay smoothness 60fps provides. Is this a feasible possibility for programmers to include into the console versions of Destiny 2? Is something like this able to be released post-launch? or is this too deeply embedded in the code to change?

  • Here's the thing, from what most people can see right now without getting our hands on the actual game engine itself, it seems the major issues right now are once again bungie's physics engine not being optimized and streamlined to properly utilize the systems it's built for. Once we see the PC specs for what is needed to run a stable 60fps we can start really judging what's possible and where the problems lie. My guess is the PC specs are going to be well, well above what the one X can deliver, as that is still using an apu, or a CPU with an onboard integrated gpu. As is, Microsoft has had issues with honesty in the past regarding their specs, often touting the correct number of total computing units on their version of the chipset, but not actually listing how many of those are actually active/enabled, which when people do teardowns ends up being noticeably fewer than are onboard.
