If you don't want to read this whole thing, probably not unless it is in a DLC (Because activision). Well, that's my opinion but based on patterns with Destiny (1) and Activision. Wadda you think?
Now, I'm going to talk about space combat in general somewhat in-depth. NOTE: I think that ships should totally be expanded upon and ship combat is a great way to do that, but I really don't think it is gonna happen.
1) Rebuttal of arguments from people with hope (To demonstrate why my faith is lacking):
-"Well, the ship in the trailer looked like a guardian ship and it shot stuff so..."
TTK opening cinematic. Nuff said. QED.
-"Destiny 2 beta logo has ship with what look to be guns"
Quite a few ships in D1 have guns, that doesn't mean anything. (Ex: Herbderbirdidiean Thoughtcrime)
-"Some enemy ships can be destroyed now"
Yeah, because that adds "extra depth" or something to ground combat because there are more things to shoot at.
2) I forgot what 2 was gonna be. I would really like to see ship combat (As I have said) in vanilla D2 or maybe in a free content update (HAHAHAHAHA no not with Activision involved, they're gonna plaster overpriced DLC and microtransactions over the skeleton of a game that we will end up getting, like the first time around) Thoughts? Questions? Comments? Concerns? Etc?
POLL: Do you think there is a reasonable chance of space combat in D2?

Was already confirmed by Luke Smith in the recent pcgamer interview, ships just for pimping the orbit screen.
