"[i]Another[/i] brain thing?" Cylus complains sarcastically, referring to the simulations at the safe house. "What's this one for?" he asks

"Before we do, I want to clear something up. They're not your squad. They're accompanying us on one mission, and depending on what they see. You might have a future with them."

"Ah, well then I'll make sure not to get too attached just yet." Cylus says. "But I'll do my best, of course. I'm finally back in the field, I don't want to screw this up."

"Alright, come." Marker turned and walked over to the edge of the clearing, where a campfire had been set up with a number of grunts and pilots sitting around it

Cylus followed Marker up to the clearing, watching as the grunts and pilots sat and watched the embers. His expression hid behind his visor, and in the first time in a long while, he felt nervous. After all, if he wanted these guys to have his back, they'd have to like him first.

Nodding back at Bear, Cylus greets him politely. "I would imagine that. He also part of the 6-4?" he says, turning back to Davis.

"That's why I introduced him, yeah. Others here are various members of the Militia. Not part of the 6-4." "You guys coming to see Gates with us?" "No, we still need to resupply." "Got ya, Cylus come. We're going to meet Gates. Section commander of the 6-4." Marker turned around, walking away from the small camp "See ya." Davis said as he took a seat, with Bear simply waving again

Cylus waves as he departs and turns to follow Marker.

"You notice Davis' accent?" Marker asked as they walked towards the dropship that had dropped off the supplies

"Erm, not really. I didn't pick it up, why?" Cylus asks, now curious

"Most people don't, apparently he's got some Southern blood in him. One of his great, great, great, great, great grandfathers was a Texan on earth."

"Ah, I'll have to listen for it when I see him next..." Cylus says. "But how many generations have you guys been off of earth as far as your timeline? Cause that sure is a lot of greats."

"Don't jynx it then!" Cylus says hurriedly as if he could prevent it. Looking at the jump ship, he nods. "Is this Gates figure in there?"

"No, she'll be at the outpost." Marker stepped onto the ramp that led into the cargo bay, but stopped. He turned to look at Cylus "It's already jinxed..." Marker said sadly as he entered the cargo bay

Cylus stands beside Marker as they go up into the cargo bay. "If that's the case, then we'll be ready... At least I hope we will." he says grimly

The ramp pulled upwards and closed the bay, the ship shot off into the air, Marker walked through the Cargo bay "We need -" He was cut off by the deafening sound of alarms as the bay went into a dark red colour. [i]"EMERGENCY ALERT; MILITIA TROOPS AND SHIPS BEING RECALLED. 6TH AND 7TH FLEETS ARE ENGAGED IN COMBAT. REPEAT. ALL SHIPS AND TROOPS OF THE SIXTH AND SEVENTH FLEETS ARE BEING RECALLED."[/i] The alarms came to an end, and the ship's lights returned. "Shit..." Marker whispered, stopping in his tracks. "Shit. Shit. Shit...." Marker said, turning to look at Cylus.

"Uhh... I'm guessing this isn't a good thing?" Cylus asks alarmingly, looking at Marker.

"Hopefully they'll be fine.... We're part of the Ninth Fleet. Not our place to get involved if they don't need us."

"Ah okay... Is it the IMC?" Cylus asks. "Two whole fleets must be worth something."

"Dunno, might be something worth investigating. But as of right now, we know our mission Parameters. Getting to the outpost."
