Edited by Wheatley: 6/6/2017 7:02:54 PMSeveral soldiers began pointing rifles at the guardian, forcing them to stop. There was a small aircraft situated near its center that seemed to be the source of the signal "Stand down! He's mine." A woman clad in white stepped from the ship, two robotic guards at her side "I suppose your here for the offer? Right this way." She began to walk back to the ship
-
The Guardian remained silent, walking towards the ship and following behind the woman
-
She led him inside the ship via its small hanger, one with empty glass pods and large space. He was eventually lead to a white room in the ship's cabin. It simply had a table and two padded chairs in its center "Have a seat, would you?" She gestured to one of the white seats and waited for the guardian to sit down
-
"I'll stand if that's alright with you." The man said, staying standing as he looked at the woman "What the bloody hell is this even about? Some job?"
-
"Yes. I'm sorry the message was as vague as it was. You'll be taking part in our new virtual reality program that we are currently testing. By its conclusion, you shall be payed handsomely for your contributions. We will discuss currency in a moment. Please, have a seat."
-
"Alright. Let's talk about the important basics." The Guardian said, taking a seat in the chair across from her
-
"For starters, what is your preferred currency?"
-
"Intergalactic credits, those underneath the Alliance, Turians, Geth and so on."
-
Edited by Wheatley: 6/6/2017 8:25:21 PM"Alright. That works." She picked up a small device and started scrolling, until then she clicked on something and set it down "I assume you want to know how much a shall be payed. Very well. How much does three billion credits sound?"
-
"3.... Bullion.... Credits... Haha. Hahaha. Alright, what's the catch?" The Guardian leaned over the table, staring the the woman underneath his visor. "Certain death? I go crazy?"
-
"There is minimal risk involved. All we require is for you be willing to a small medical procedure and to hand over all electronic devices. It isn't permanent and will be removed once the trial is complete."
-
"Yeah sure I'm down. Let's do it!" The Guardian said rather happily
-
"Alright then! Just need you to fill out this form and relinquish all electronic devices" She handed him a form and waited
The devices part is absolutely necessary as it could kill you if that tech is in the room
-
"Sure thing..." The Guardian signed the release papers and handed in back. He got to his feet and looked at her "I'll need to take off my armour."
-
Edited by Wheatley: 6/7/2017 1:08:29 AM"Yes. This is to make sure the process goes smoothly."
-
"Do I wear something? Like a hospital robe or?"
-
"No under armor clothing? I can get you one of our suits..."
-
"I'll be fine." The Guardian said as he unclasped the helmet from his head and set it down. He stripped out if his armour, leaving him in a skin tight shirt and pants.
-
"Alright. Please, have a seat and we'll start."
-
He placed the armour down and took a seat, a strange robotic diamond shaped device exited his chest and the armour disappeared "I'll call you back, Dawn. You're free to scan the dojo." The device disappeared and he looked at the woman
-
"Was that your Ghost? Been awhile since I've seen one. Now, first we will implant a small device on the back of your neck that connects to the brain. We will then enable the initialization process and send you into the simulation. To everyone else, the trial length should be approximately 20 seconds. For you, however, it should last for a few hours. Are we ready to begin?"
-
"Ready." The Guardian said, shifting in the seat to expose his neck
-
The woman stood and moved towards him, pulling out a pressurized gun-shape tool. She moved to the back of his neck and pulled the trigger. This embedded a small, circular device onto the back of his neck and into the brain "A word of advice, don't trust anything after the initial activation as real. We have a backup in case the device tries create a false version of this reality. Now, sit back, and just relax." She pulled down a half-circular black bar down to were it was just less than an inch from his forehead
-
He leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes
-
She tapped a few buttons on the table's built in touchscreen computer, presumably configuring the simulation. Its AI could be heard moments later "Cybernetic Neural Interface, activated. Beginning initialization process." She tapped a few more buttons, and the AI spoke again "Simulation initiating in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..."
Train, Apartment, or Warzone?
