Alex tapped her on the shoulder.
"Excuse me, but I need to copy some of these files. Would you know where I could find a terminal?"

The Warlock looked up through her helmet as the Coldplay shut off when he started talking. She shrugged.
-
"Surely you don't mean to tell me that all the information here is on paper."

She, being shy and semi-mute, began to slowly inch away from Alex.

Alex takes note of her condition. He signs [i]Where can I find digital copies of these archives?[/i]

She didn't know sign language. She was silent because she was shy. She inched away, and she still had her helmet on.

Alex adjusted his glasses. They were dark, prescription sunglasses, which hid his eyes from view. "Do you know if there is a librarian or some sort of attendant with whom I could speak?"

She stood up and began to go around the next shelf. She peaked from around the shelf, waiting for Alex to leave.

Alex begins perusing the shelves. "I suppose I'll have to scan these, then." He mutters to himself. "Interstellar travel, advanced weaponry, but no database for their archives."

The Warlock returned to her book, reading. She was wary of Alex.

Alex began to remove the books one by one. Each time, he would quickly flip through each page, then place it back on the shelf.

The shy Warlock tried to mind her own business, but she was curious. She started to watch Alex.

Alex moved methodically through each book. As he flipped through, he would pause on each page. A fraction of a second would pass, and then he would turn to the next. After a while, it became clear that he wasn't reading, but rather, simply looking at each page. He had begun with books regarding technology.

"W-hat. What are you look-ing for?" The Warlock asked, stuttering. Her voice was high-pitched, yet soft.

Alex pauses. "Whatever I can find. I didn't expect these archives to be well organized, but I thought they'd at least be digital. The dojo ought to thank me for doing this."

"Huh...." She muttered.

Alex continued to flip through the pages.

"Anything in paticular?" Kali asked.

Once I get all of this organized, I'll see what there is.

"Hmm." The Warlock fell silent for a few seconds, "Can I help?"

"I don't believe so. Not unless you finnaly feel like answering any of my previous questions."

Kali tried to shy away, but summoned some courage, "I'm not... A people person. I...I don't go around looking for people."

"Neither am I. However, in the pursuit of knowledge, sacrifices must be made. One such is my own comfort."

She began to shy away from Alex, sighing, and continuing her studies. Her Ghost, Hydrangea appeared. "I know you're shy and all," the female AI remarked, "But I think you like him." "Hydrangea, shut up," Kali muttered.
