"Humble yourself amongst your people?" Cylus asks sarcastically
English
-
"Something like that." He smirked. "In the meantime... You wanted to see a magic trick?"
-
"Sure, if that's what you'll call it."
-
"Ok, what would you like to see? I'd prefer something less than moving a mountain."
-
"Anything you've got uh... I don't think I ever caught your name." Cylus said.
-
"Name's Steven. How about you?"
-
"Cylus. Nice to meet you Steven." he says. "Now how about that trick?"
-
"Ok. What would it take for you to believe me?" Steven asked.
-
Cylus thought for a moment. "Show me my earth. Bring me to my gravestone and back, and I'll believe you." Removing his helmet, he looked at Steven. His eyes were dear and it was clear that there was a reason behind his request.
-
"Alright, but I need to know which earth is yours. Give me your hand."
-
Cylus gives Steven his hand
-
Steven holds it for a second, his eyes and hand glowing. "Alright. You may want to close your eyes, this will get disorienting."
-
Cylus closes his eyes and listens to Steven
-
He suddenly gets the feeling that he's spinning. Fast. Its gets worse and worse.
-
'When is this gonna stop? I feel like someone is whisking my innards!" Cylus shouts.
-
The spinning stopped. "You can open your eyes now."
-
Cylus opens his eyes and finds himself standing at a gravestone in the dirt. It was his own. Beside it was another gravestone, that of his partner, to which he knelt down and whispered to. From his coat he removed a small flower that he had been keeping from the rain in dojo and placed it on the grave. A few moments later, he kissed the stone and stood up, looking back to Steven. "Thanks. You don't need to do anymore, we can go back now." he said softly. He had been convinced.
-
"Alright, close your eyes again." Steven's voice had sympathy, like he knew how the man felt.
-
Cylus grabbed Stevens hand and nodded, ready to go
-
The world began to spin again as soon as he closed his eyes. It spun faster and faster, and then it was still.
-
When they were back in the dojo, Cylus seemed satisfied. "Thank you." was all he said
-
"You're welcome."
-
"Well, you have me convinced... So what now?" he asks
-
"I don't know. What's happened here in the past three hundred years?"
-
"Hard to say. Like I said, haven't been here too long myself."
-
"Well, I see the dojo is still standing. That's good."
