Vance, of course, was not used to being addressed formally; he was taught differently from Victoria; to him, everybody who wasn't a Contractee was to be addressed as though they were some sort of god, and as though he himself was a rat; he had since broken this habit, but almost always used honorifics when addressing people who were not Contractees like himself.[/i]
