Vanguard Hall, The Tower, Last City, Earth; 1354 hours
The Hunter Vanguard, Mark-54, drummed his fingers on the the table.
He was having a rough day.
Someone stole his favorite knife. The mini-bar near his quarters had run out of his favourite drink. Three of his scouts had gone rouge in the European Dead Zone. He was constantly being annoyed by the Vertex twins, crap ton of Hunters off the revive, and a bunch of people asking, "Where's Cayde?"
On top of that, was his heartache about the one that ALWAYS got away. His feeling of betrayal after his best friend leaving to kill their former teammate. His hatred for Zavala ordering his best friend to do so. His hatred for himself for not telling his lost love how he felt.
Mark felt like he was going to explode.
But he snapped, crackled, and popped. Like the energy he honed.
"I just can't take it...." He slammed his head onto his map, which was covered in mud footprints.
"Mark...." His ghost, Havoc, chided.
"Havoc! I can't take it!" Mark raised his voice, "First I lose my team to the most bulls**t relationship that went sour. Then one of them gets exiled, Taken by Oryx, and nearly killed in an explosion. And the whole time she failed to see what's right in front of her!"
His voice gets louder, "While the other is blinded by the past. He finally moved on, but still held hatred. THEN I EXPLORE A LARGE PLANET, IN A DIFFERENT TIMELINE, LOSE A BET AND GET ROPED INTO THIS TOWER! MEANWHILE, A BLUE B***H DECIDES TO KILL MY FORMER TEAMMATE BECAUSE HE'S A F**KING COWARD!! SO HE ORDERED MY BEST FRIEND TO KILL MY OTHER BEST FRIEND, WHO I MISS MORE THAN I MISS MORE THAN MY FREEDOM AND MY FAVORITE KNIFE THAT WAS STOLEN THIS MORNING!!!"
The yelling was so loud, the guardians from the plaza piled in to see what was going on.
Zavala shot Mark a glare, "Mark--"
"Don't Mark me!" The exo interrupted, "FIND A NEW HUNTER TO JOIN YOUR F**KING TABLE BECAUSE I AM LEAVING!! I WILL NOT COME BACK!!"
Mark grabbed his notebook from under the map, and stormed straight out of the Vanguard Hall through the crowd, Havoc following.
The Hunter flipped off the Awoken Titan as he left.
Dojoville, 17:09
Mark landed his "High and Flighty" outside the walls of the Dojo.
Squeezing the large ship through the Gate on Venus had not been easy, and it had taken damage.
He dawned his helmet, pulled up the jood of his Bladedancer's cloak and approached the gates of Dojoville.

"Wha- Wait a minute." Cylus says, looking at the small robot floating next to the man. Suddenly, he seems less tense and more fascinated. "Is that some sort of artificial intelligence... In a physical form? Bu- how does it do that?" he asks, referring to the ghost's ability to disappear and reappear.
-
"For his type of AI, it's the oldest trick in their book," Mark explained, "And he practically is stuck in his shell."
-
"Shell?" Cylus seemed intrigued, even through his helmet his emotions were shown through body language. He had been searching for a way to give his A.I, Q, a physical form of his own. "My apologies, I've sort of been having a rough day. The name's Cylus. And you?" he says, extending a hand out to Mark
-
"Mark-54. I've had a rough day," the Hunter shook the man's hand, "But doesn't mean I should be threatening."
-
"And I shouldn't channel my anger out on a stranger either. How about a drink?" Cylus suggests, gesturing for Mark to follow. "Are you new here to the dojo, Mark?" he asks
-
The Hunter caught up to Cylus, "I've been here, on this planet, but I never explored the Dojo..."
-
"Ah, I see. Well its a nice place, maybe after this I can give you a tour. But for for now, what do you like to drink? We could also eat if you're up for it." Cylus says as they walk
-
"I could go for a few drinks," the Exo replied.
-
They walk until they reach a bar on the other side of the courtyard. "I know a couple of the guys here, they recommended I try the food." he said. He chose a table and sat down, waiting for Mark to accompany him. He gestured for a server who came and left them with 2 menus.
-
The Hunter pulled down the hood of his cloak, and took off his helmet. Mark was an Exo-- a robot with human memories and emotions. He was once human. But now, he was a collection of mechanisms, plating, and paint.
http://i.imgur.com/TXtNXPW.jpg
"That would explain the -54 in your name. So are you some sort of A.I. too?" he asks, removing his hood and helmet.
-
"I was human. Now all my memories, and thoughts have been put into this robot body. That happened centuries ago..." Mark explained.
-
"Ah, not artificial intelligence, but an uploaded conscious. Fascinating." Cylus says. He gestures for the waiter and ordered a drink, then looked to Mark. "What'll you be having?"
-
"I can drink, but I can't eat. So I'll take a cold beer."
-
"So how does that work?" Cylus asks, raising his brow "How can an exo like yourself taste or even digest fluids like beer?
-
"I have no idea..." Mark said.
-
"Interesting." Cylus notes. "So Mark, what's your story?"
-
"It's a long story," Mark replied. "You always say, the longer the story, the more interesting," Havoc chided. The Exo sighed, "Okay. So my story begins, well with me dead."
-
"Hey" Cylus says with a smile. "I've been there, cheers to that!" he chuckles
-
"Anyway... this AI," Mark said gesturing to Havoc, "Revived me. It was on.... Dang it, where was it?" "Mars," the Ghost said, "Mars, in Freehold."
-
"Mars? Huh, back on Earth we'd been trying to colonize for years. I wonder how it's going back there..."
-
"In our timeline, we had colonized it, the Moon, and Venus, within decades after the Traveler arrived," Havoc said. "Now, since humanity is close to extinction, it's all in one City. The rest of the system's colonies in ruins," Mark said.
-
"Yeah, that is definitely different from my earth. I assume with vast colonization came unforseen threats? New species, new enemies?"
-
"Yep. Four of them Traveled to the System," Mark said, "For the past 18 years, I have been fighting them. But the fight spans centuries."
-
"Sounds rough." Cylus comments as he takes a drink of his beer. 'How many of you guys are there? Fighters, I mean." he asks.
