Seven Vietnam-era US soldiers sat around a Huey painted with a flaming eagle decal on the nose. They laughed, sharing stories and jokes. They all wore flak jackets without sleeves and had military grade M16s slung over their shoulders. They had a small boombox on the ground, blasting out music.

Angela: I figured someone would have pulled you guys out of the timelines. Angela just shruged Angela: So what do we got here? Seven soilders older than a carton of milk?
-
One of them chuckled, spinning their helmet on the tip of their index finger. "Yeah, I guess so."
-
Angela: Well.. Welcome aboard I guess. I am Mercy but you can call me Angela. I am the General around here and if you need anything come see me, I can supply you with anything She smiled lightly to the soilders and went back her command tower.
-
"Oh, cool. Question, when are we being deployed?" One asked, wiping sweat from their brow.

Edited by Duolingo, Kell of Spanish: 5/8/2017 11:11:08 PMAngela: We are waiting on a few more of our forces to arrive. Oh and dont worry about the women with wings. I'm sure you have heard the old viking legend of Valkyries? Well believe it or not they exist and I am the daughter of the biggest one. The queen valkyrie aka Commander Haylee. She said this while flipping her combat knife in her hand. Angela: I am actually 151 years old and yet I look 18. So I am older than you guys aha Angela got nervous at this thought, she has never said her true age and didnt know how they would react.

"Woah..." One said, breathing out a small plume of smoke, a joint in their hand. "Cool, thanks. See you around." The presumed leader said, nodding.
-
Angela: Of course and oh I forgot to mention. Welcome to the most badass army your ever gonna be in. If we win... we are letting you stay in this timeline so you can live your lives once again
-
"If we win?" One asked, chuckling. "Darling, we're gonna win by a landslide, trust me."
-
Angela: Well then, I guess someone gets a second chance at life. Plus you get to fight along side 2 demi-goddesses. Oh and I aint a "darling" I am a killer... highly trained and highly dangerous. But that army we are going against killed my son... and Im being called the traitor. Most battalions are actually built of army soilders from that army. Luckily I had a reputation so I had many followers. You'll be working along side many things you wont expect. All of it will help us win. Oh and keep the huey. I'll get one of my men to equip carbon-titanium armor and heat seeking missiles.

He seemed the slightest bit overwhelmed. "Right.." The leader spoke: "Many thanks. See you on the battlefield." They all nodded, shouldering their M16s and putting their helmets back on. One of the men put out their cigarette, as they went and sat in the Huey.
-
Angela: I didnt catch your names. What are they?

Edited by The WORLD1897: 5/8/2017 11:46:08 PMOne of them wore a sash of .50 cal rounds across his chest and carried an M60 machinegun, also Vietnam-era. Blazoned on his helmet was a skull and cross bones, under it written: "Headhunter." He spoke calmly. "Buck." An African American soldier stood, straightening his vest. He wore a helmet with a peace sign blazoned across the top, under it written: "No peace for commies." He spoke, his voice gruff and tough, but also joking. "Lincoln." A thin soldier nodded, stuttering a bit: "U-uh, right right. I'm Eddy." He wore glasses and had zero facial hair present. He looked about 19, his helmet blank of any decals. A rookie. The leader stood up from his chair, holding out his hand to shake. He had chiseled features covered in ash powder and dirt, but nonetheless was fair looking. He wore his flak vest with sleeves, although they were rolled up at his elbows. His helmet had a heart symbol with a hammer and sickle in the center being torn apart by the flags of the US and South Korea, under it written: "Heartbreaker." He spoke with a grin, "Call me Hollywood." The remaining three were busy chatting in the Huey.
